“Katiana was absolutely amazing. I felt so confident and comfortable leaving my babies with her. She made great work at keeping me updated and caring for my pups with walks and treats and comfy time every day, with plenty of pics! House sitting by Katiana I would recommend over and over again. WONDERFUL SITTER!”

“Jordynn was an amazing house sitter and wonderful with our two large dogs and two cats while we were away. She was very communicative, reliable and our animals loved her. We will definitely contact Jordynn again in the future.”

“Keleia is a kind and responsible sitter. She was very responsive, and we came home to find our pets looking happy and healthy. I hope to book Keleia again for our next trip.”

“Alyssa stayed with my needy little poodle mix and also my son’s active golden retriever for a long weekend. Both dogs seemed happy and relaxed when we came on and the house was clean and tidy. I would totally have her come again!”

“As one would expect from all of her outstanding reviews, Megan was amazing in taking care of our babies. Annie is extremely nervous and anxious when left with anyone but us, and Megan was sensitive to her needs. We really appreciate you, Megan. We look forward to having you take care of our babies again soon. Thank you!”

“I was only gone for two nights, but I could tell Emmanuelle loved my fur babies like they were her own. I got lots of pictures and text updates, and she was always responsive when I reached out. I will absolutely book with her again!”

“Ashlyn was very responsive and made herself available at the last minute to watch our dog and cat, plus a tortoise and 2 fish. In addition to caring for our sick dog, she also looked after our house, watered our plants and in general came to the rescue at the last minute for us.”

“Megan did an exceptional job watching my very big but silly 7mo/65lb puppy for a night! She sent no less than 10 photos and a few updates as the night went on. Typically he doesn’t want to sleep/cuddle near someone “new” but he took to her right away and fell asleep with his head on her lap. Megan left the house as I left it and even started the laundry with the bedsheets (despite me telling her not to worry about it!). Would highly recommend and I’ll be booking her again in the future.”

About: I have lived with animals most of my life. While I currently do not own a pet, I have continued to surround myself with the animals of my friends and family. I started cat-sitting 2 years ago. When I pet sit, I aim to ensure a great experience for my furry friends. I am currently working part-time as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) and am flexible in my hours. I am currently a part-time Occupational Therapist, so I have flexibility in my schedule to take care of your furry friend. I have my own transportation as well. I work hard to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for your animal in their home environment. A detailed description of your animal's needs is much appreciated.

Mollie exceeded all of our expectations. We will reach out again, plans for the next trip have begun. Thank You Mollie!!!!!!”

About: I’ve grown up with cats and dogs, and played a large role in caring for both. When I was 10, I started a dog walking business in my neighborhood and walked neighbors dogs for a few years. More recently, I have experience dog sitting for both puppies and senior dogs, as well as cat sitting. I truly love animals, and would love to get to know your cat or dog! I’m about to graduate high school, and will be working part time over the summer (3-4 days a week). I will have plenty of availability over the summer to pet sit or walk dogs. In August, I will be moving to San Luis Obispo for college, but I hope to continue working their as well. I am very diligent when caring for dogs, and will make sure to keep a close eye on your pup and follow any instructions. I also have a fenced yard.
“David and Marguerite were great with our dog Koba. They followed his routine and sent pictures every day. I came home to a clean house and a happy pup. I would definitely use them again.”

“Katey was amazing. She was very communicative and attuned to my pets needs and personalities. She was reliable and I came home to happy pets. I would definitely use her again!!”

“Stephanie took wonderful care of our two young cats in our home. They have a ton of energy and require a lot of playtime, and Stephanie clearly gave them a lot of attention and care. Additionally, one of our cats has pica, and Stephanie was very conscientious about that and was able to get her to take her liquid medication each morning (not an easy task). She provided detailed updates and lots of pics, and we felt very at ease knowing our kitties were safe in her care. We highly recommend Stephanie to everyone and we would love to work with her again!”

“First time visit with Branden - and he was a hit with both our crazy young (3 month / 25lb) Puppy and the grumpy old (not really, he's friendly, and only 4yrs old) cat. Branden was great with lots of pictures and communication. Would love to have him watch the fur-kids again!”

“Cannot recommend Teagan more! She was responsive, timely, and flexible. My flight was delayed by 5 hours and she was able to extend the booking for my elderly dog, which was a big relief for me. Her dog is super sweet as well. :)”

“Outstanding house sitting care for my 10 year old Korean Jindo who still is very active. She clearly bonded very well and communicated with us often including sending pics of my dog happily doing different things. The house looked very clean and tidy when we returned. She will be our pick again.”

“Silas went above and beyond for our pets! She watched our 4 dogs and 2 cats while we were out of the country. She was a great communicator the whole time. There was an issue with an appliance in the house while we were gone and she kept me updated and helped coordinate the repairs. She also sent photos and updates of the pets. We really appreciate that she treated our fur babies with love while we were away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Maplewood
Daniel was great with our two large dogs! He helped us out in a pinch and was super responsive. He followed our instructions to the T, was thorough, sent us updates and pics of our dogs, and left our house clean when we arrived home. He is very thoughtful with the dogs and despite our old fellow being incredibly difficult to med, Daniel was diligent in trying and found out a new med trick for us!! We will use him again. Thank you Daniel!
Deolia is the best! She sent pictures and notes every day! Is a dream sitter! Such a lovely young woman! I trusted her completely. My dogs haven’t had a sitter before, they are doing well with her expert care. I would be happy to recommend her to others. My Pomeranian can be a handful but she handled him very well. I am very pleased with her and with Rover!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maplewood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maplewood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maplewood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Maplewood. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
