“Our kitties absolutely loved Kentaro. He was very attentive with the neediness of one of them, and hung out with them more than we expected (in a good way!). Leaving them always gives us anxiety, however that was quickly eased. We will certainly book with him in the future.”

“Alexis was a terrific sitter for my two dogs, cat, and chickens. Everyone warmed up instantly to her and she took very good care of the animals and house. Will book again.”

“We had a great experience with Adam. He took excellent care of our pets, was very engaged with them, and kept us updated with regular photos. He also went above and beyond by helping with extra household chores (that we hadn’t even requested), which we really appreciated. We felt completely comfortable leaving our pets in his care and would happily book with him again.”

“Best pet sitting experience ever. Lisa took extra good care of our boys while we were abroad. We received lots of updates and pictures throughout the visit. Our home was kept clean and tidy. Our dog were given plenty of exercise and attention.”

“Elizabeth is wonderful. She was patient and kind to our anxious dog and spent extra time with her to make sure her needs were met. I highly recommend her”

“This was our first time using Rover and we were definitely nervous. We couldn’t be more thankful for Sierra! She provided us with constant communication and photo updates throughout the day, putting our nervous minds at ease. Just knowing our fur babies were being cared for, like they were her own, meant the world to us. We will definitely be booking with Sierra again.”

“Ashlyn was very responsive and made herself available at the last minute to watch our dog and cat, plus a tortoise and 2 fish. In addition to caring for our sick dog, she also looked after our house, watered our plants and in general came to the rescue at the last minute for us.”

“Ryenne was fantastic with my brood. I was a little nervous going into the sit since we had only had time to do a video call intro, but she more than exceeded my expectations and I had one of the most relaxing weekends away in years. truly. I didn’t have to worry about a thing plus…she washed the sheets so I didn’t come home to a pile of laundry. But the main thing is that my beasts were super well-cared for and happy. Thank you!!!!”

“Michael was amazing with our animals and can tell he genuinely cares about their wellbeing. He was great at checking in and sending photos. Would love to have him watch our boys again”

“Shania was an amazing dog sitting for my anxious older dog. She had great communication and patience when meeting her and kept me updated throughout the entire stay. My dog is very anxious and Shania made it much easier for Lily and made her so comfortable. She took Greta care of Lily and will be using her in the future.”

“Misao was quite simply the best dog and house sitter we have ever experienced. From the moment we left for our Thanksgiving vacation, she provided an immediate sense of trust, professionalism, and true peace of mind. She demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, strong situational awareness, and genuine care for our home and our dogs. Throughout our time away, she kept us well informed with thoughtful updates and photos that clearly showed how happy, relaxed, and well cared for our dogs were—allowing us to fully enjoy our holiday without worry. When we returned home, it was evident how much of an impression she made. Our dogs waited by the door, clearly hoping she would return, which speaks volumes about the bond she built with them and the level of care she provided. We are deeply impressed by Misao’s reliability, professionalism, and compassion. We sincerely hope she will be our go-to dog and house sitter moving forward, and we recommend her without hesitation or reservation.”

“Alicia is truly top notch and we are so thankful to have found her on Rover! Our dogs love her, she is great at communicating, and she always goes above and beyond during her visits.”

“Outstanding house sitting care for my 10 year old Korean Jindo who still is very active. She clearly bonded very well and communicated with us often including sending pics of my dog happily doing different things. The house looked very clean and tidy when we returned. She will be our pick again.”

“Katey was amazing. She was very communicative and attuned to my pets needs and personalities. She was reliable and I came home to happy pets. I would definitely use her again!!”

“I had reservations about leaving my fur babies with a stranger but Angel was absolutely amazing every step of the way. He answered all of my questions and gave several very detailed updates throughout the weekend, including pictures. It allowed me to relax and be able to focus on my trip instead of stressing about my pets well being. They were in very good hands! I came home to a clean house because Angel really went above and beyond, vacuuming and cleaning up when I didn't expect or ask him to. I would recommend him a thousand times over and will most definitely reach out to him if I'm ever in need of a sitter again! Thank you, Angel, for taking such amazing care of our furry family members!”

“If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would. Megan went above and beyond for our pups and we are so grateful to her for showering our pups with love while we were away. Great communication, left the house spotless, and sent pictures every day. We will definitely contact her again for any future needs.”

“Rose was great! Stayed with our herd overnight and even managed to get our under-the-weather dog to take her meds. Our 3 cats warmed up to her really quickly and everyone was happy when we got home.”

“Brieanna was a great house sitter. She cared for our dog recovering from a CCL injury and ensured he was given lots of attention while being sure he maintained an appropriate amount of exercise.”

“Stephanie was great with my Shih Tzus Belle and Finn. She administered oral meds and eye ointment without a problem, played fetch, and kept them happy with cuddles and loads of attention. Quickly responded to my texts - I had no concern my Littles were anything but happy with her. Will use Stephanie again in the future!”

Bri & Jamal are just amazing! They took such incredible care of Willie Nelson & Ruby, our two crazy basset hounds while we went a week vacation along the Oregon coast! We got daily pics and updates thru out each day. Thank you for loving them as much as we do.

Sierra was excellent for my two dogs. My chihuahua is not the easiest to dogsit unless you have experience with the breed. Sierra had him playing ball before the first night. By the next night he was sleeping by her side on the couch. Bonus - She sent cute photos daily. I will definitely use Sierra again!

Alisha did a phenomenal job in her two week stay with our pup. She went above and beyond in every way, sending photos and updates every day and leaving our home immaculate. We never worried and knew that Clementine was being well cared for with plenty of quality time and love all along the way. We’d give her six stars if we could, and will not hesitate to book her for our next time away.

Brie house sat for my three, high energy pups! She was very responsive and sent plenty of pics so I was not worried about them. I appreciated that Brie was willing to come to my house ahead of time to meet my dogs. I have a German shepherd who can be house protective. It made me feel better that she came to meet them and they all loved her with no protective issues!

Alassandra was a consummate professional. We being quite attached to our huckleberry, left a very extensive list on what our dog is accustomed to being very pampered and attentive dog owners. She followed everything to a tee including upkeep of the house for the days we hired her for. Daily updates with photos and description of the day’s activities. Huckleberry was in good hands. Highly recommend her. Thanks again alassandra.
Gabrielle was such a great house sitter she offered to bring in mail, water plants, and kept me up to date on what was going on around the apartments. She sent pictures of the dog every day and brought him to local parks. Upon return the place was clean and the dog did not seem stressed. Would book again!

Taking care of our ‘frightened by fireworks’ furry friend over the 4th of July weekend was a tall order but Amanda did amazing! I could immediately tell from the photo updates that our little guy felt safe with her. We appreciated the daily updates and could confidently enjoy our time away. Thank you, Amanda!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fircrest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fircrest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fircrest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
