“Megan did a great job of taking care of Sadie, my high energy Australian Shepherd! She also was a wonderful communicator, responding promptly to any texts and setting me at ease by sending lots of pictures of my spoiled girl! I have already re-booked Megan for our next getaway.”

“Paula is the most amazing sitter I could ever ask for! She sends updates, photos and even takes the cutest polaroid's with her camera for us! She is beyond attentive, thoughtful and actually interacts with my puppy Kona and gives him all the attention he needs since he has a lot of energy. 10/10 would recommend her to everyone!”

“If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would. Megan went above and beyond for our pups and we are so grateful to her for showering our pups with love while we were away. Great communication, left the house spotless, and sent pictures every day. We will definitely contact her again for any future needs.”

“I was so impressed with Brianna, it was great to come home and see the house clean and my pup very happy. She showed a lot of concern for Tope’s needs and sent me pictures of Tope over the two weeks I was gone. I will definitely hire her again.”

“Cambria did a super job with our pets. The day before we left one dog ended up in Urget Care after ingesting bones and having tarry black poop. We had a specific care plan for him and frankly Cambria is the ONLY sitter I would have felt safe leaving him with! “No problem” she said, “I’ve got this!” After we talked about it. He recovered and she sent me very specific updates about his condition. She always sends lots of pictures and takes our younger dog on some very long walks to keep her happy. Plus she leaves the house in better shape than anyone ever does. Everything nest, tidy, folded, and the little welcome home bouquet was so special. She is the best pet/house sitter ever. Thank you Cambria for the peace of mind you gave us.”

“Tina was absolutely phenomenal with my energetic 2 yo. She took Saoirse on wonderful walks at Point Defiance and Sehmel Homestead Park, kept her happy and engaged, and made sure Saoirse had the perfect mix of exercise, care, love, attention, and joy. The regulare photos and videos were absolutely delightful to receive (and share :). Tina’s updates, attention to detail, kindness, and genuine love for dogs shine through in everything she does. According to Saoirse, Tina deserves a thousand stars — and I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for taking amazing care of my sweet girl!”

“Silas was magnificent with my dogs. They don't always take the strangers very well but Silas put them at ease very quickly. I was gone for a week and I was able to relax because I felt like they were in good hands.”

“Noelle is an absolute gem and I feel so fortunate to have had her care for my 2 dogs and 2 cats. They were all very relaxed when we got home and only mildly happy to see us, which means they likely preferred Noelle’s company to ours! She took great care of our house too, sent an update each day and pictures. She went above and beyond and I trust her implicitly, plus she is a caring, smart, and compassionate person all around. 11/10! Thank you, Noelle!”
“Brooklyn was amazing, very communicative, very punctual, attentive, and professional. I would definitely book Brooklyn any time I need someone to watch out dogs. Great experience.”

“Our little Molly is 18, hard of hearing and has poor eyesight. Despite her age, she still goes up and down the staircase to our bedroom where she spends most of her time. Given her needs, we looked for a stay-in caretaker. Alyssa was a great fit because she works remotely so she was able to work from our house. She took wonderful care of Molly and kept us informed on how things were going so we were able to enjoy our trip. We came home to a happy and relaxed dog, a clean and tidy house, laundered linens, plus a lovely vase of flowers and thank-you note. We will definitely reach out to Alyssa the next time we travel!”

About: Our pets bring us joy and peace, maybe? They definitely bring us joy. When you’re away let me give you peace of mind watching your fur babies. Making sure they get fed, taken to the bathroom, water bowl filled, and played with. Feel some peace of mind knowing I have the Pet First Aid app on my phone should there be an emergency and your pet will be taken care of at your choice of vet. I currently work at a school for special needs kids as a Behavior Technician. That takes about 6-8 hours of my day Monday-Friday. My schedule does make it easier to care for cats than dogs, unless you have a dog that is very good at waiting for the bathroom. I am able to stay the night with your pet so they’re not alone overnight. I will go and hangout with your animals at your house and play with them. Making sure they’re always leashed or in a fenced area. Also slowly introducing myself to your pet and not forcing my presence onto them. Slowly building trust especially with our nervous friends.
“We’re so lucky to have found Jason! He took great care of my dog Marney, communicates well, sent frequent updates and pictures and his adventure hikes have been great for my dogs confidence. Will definitely try to book with Jason again!”

About: I have been working with foster kittens through local shelters my entire life, learning how to manage medicine schedules, weighing schedules, as well as caring for vulnerable critters with illnesses or anxiety. Socializing kittens with dogs (vis versa) is also some thing I am incredibly passionate about, helping all animals in your household aclimate comfortably with one another is something I strive for! I worked for around a year with a professional dog show handler as her assistant, learning how to manage over 30 animals at a time, gaining valuable experience with grooming all types of dogs, working with animal parents, and acquiring valuable skills and knowledge in training and obedience. As a college student in the area, I’m looking to meet and support families around the community! My weekdays are more open to check-in visits and dog walking, my weekends are more open for boarding or Housesitting- lets me help you find what you need! And I will be able to stop by your house to feed, walk, or hang out with your animals as needed. Working around my school/athletics schedule should be no problem, and I am totally ready to figure out an agenda that works!
“Absolutely loving to our fur babies. She took excellent care of our two mini Australian Shepherds. Jasmine is the perfect pet sitter if you are looking to have someone care for your pets as their own.”

“Nayeli did a great job watching my dog! She followed all my instructions and gave me lots of updates throughout the weekend. I returned to a happy dog and a well taken care of home. I would recommend Nayeli and book her again!”

“Todd helped us out in a pinch, house sitting and dog sitting our two medium-sized dogs. He gave the perfect amount of updates while we were away and was very communicative. He was also super flexible with a last minute schedule change. The house was clean and the dogs were happy when we got home. Thanks Todd!”

“Thank you so much for taking such sweet care of our fur babies! Our little ChiChi was diagnosed with Addisons just the week before and was very ill. We came home to a very happy boy who had gained nearly all 9 pounds of his weight loss back! Thank you!!!”

“Michael is awesome I well on a trip to north Carolina and was updated daily on my buddy. It was really nice to know that he was WELL!! cared for. I highly recommend him. And Bruno really likes him also!”

“We were so lucky to have found Zach on short notice to house sit for our two husky mixes over the weekend. He was friendly, great with our dogs (despite our girl having quite a bit of anxiety with new people) and made us feel comfortable with lots of updates throughout the weekend. He even ran with the dogs daily which was a huge plus! He left our house spotless, and when we came home, our dogs were calm and happy and clearly well looked-after. Thank you, Zach! We will definitely be coming back as a repeat client!”

Cambria always does the best job with our pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats. The cats adore her (easy to see from the many pictures she sends) and due to our dogs having different levels of mobility, takes the younger one on extra walks. House is so tidy and clean when we return - would never know someone stayed there. And we trust her - she notices info on our pets that I don’t. She is the e best pet sitter we have ever had. Thank you Cambria❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Russell, as always, went above and beyond! He treats our home and our entire pack like his own, and we couldn’t ask for better care while we’re away. Knowing everyone is happy, loved, and in such good hands gives us complete peace of mind. At this point, we may just have to start planning our trips around Russell’s availability!

Tina was absolutely phenomenal with my energetic 2 yo. Thank you for taking amazing care of my sweet girl!

Maria was a wonderful companion to Fiddlesticks! She was communicative during our trip, sending great photos and updates. This was our first trip away from Fiddle and we felt totally comfortable and safe leaving him in Maria’s care. She is knowledgeable about dogs, understands their needs, and continued our training during crucial puppy-development-time. We appreciate her so much and would book again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 6,493 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Cromwell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Cromwell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Cromwell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Cromwell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
