About: I have had over 30 years of experience with a variety of pets. I worked in a family run pet store during high school and college, spent many years as a vet tech and have owned cats, dogs, birds, fish, reptiles and numerous other small animals over the years. Finding someone to care for your smaller animals can be challenging, so I am hoping to be able to provide that service to my community. I currently work full time from home but have incredible flexibility with no strict work hours. I tend to be a very early morning person (up at 4am to exercise) and early to bed by 9pm. I understand the importance of keeping your pets in the same routine as you would if you were not away so I will do my best to be flexible. Cats need fresh food, water and litter box cleaning daily, and even multiple times daily depending on the situation. I am also able to give medications (orally, injections, etc.). And of course, if your cat bonds with me, I'm happy to hang out and give him/her some love. I also realize some cats may not take well to strangers and having volunteered at Furkids, I know it may take a lot of patience and time to build that bond.

“Heather and Chris were amazing with Max. I loved how they sent plenty of pictures and updates throughout the day. Max was taken out for walks multiple times a day. They have a huge backyard for the dogs to run around and play. I could tell Max was very comfortable. I will definitely want Heather and Chris to care for Max again.”

I know how to read dog body language, stick to feeding routines, and ensure they burn off enough energy to stay relaxed. 🏡 What will your dog's "vacation" at my home be like? • Constant companionship: My Cocker Spaniel is super friendly, calm and loves having visitors. Your dog will have the perfect company right from the start! • Space and exercise: We live in a house with secure backyard and our community has a private dog park and a trail where we’ll go for daily walks so they can run and socialize. • Personalized care: I strictly follow your household rules (whether they’re allowed on the sofa, meal schedules, any necessary medications, etc.). • Constant communication: I’ll send you daily photos and updates so you can see what a great time they’re having. 24/7 Supervision: I’m away from home for only a short time (I work just 5 hours a day and spend a little while at the gym). I spend the rest of the day entirely at home with the dogs. Plus, whenever I do go out, my roommate is always home, so your furry friend will always have a human nearby to cuddle and look after them, and to let them out into the backyard. I have a private, fully enclosed, and secure backyard, perfect for quick games and sunbathing. We’ll also take daily walks to our complex’s private dog park, an ideal spot for running and socializing in a controlled environment. Your dog will spend their days with Simba, my Cocker Spaniel. He is calm and friendly with other dogs. I fully respect your dog's home bedtime routine to ensure their rest isn't disrupted. The options are: • In my bed: If they’re used to sleeping snuggled up close, they are more than welcome! I love it. • In their own bed in my room: If they prefer their own space but want the comfort of being in the same room. • In their crate: If your dog sleeps in a crate for safety or training, you can bring it along, and I’ll make sure to follow that routine to the letter. • Constant attention and cuddles: Since either my roommate or I are always home, your dog will receive personalized attention, medication administration if needed, and plenty of cuddles on the sofa 🤗
