“Caroline took care of my three cats while I was traveling, and I’d hire her again without hesitation. She was reliable and communicative — showed up when she said she would, sent updates so I wasn’t left wondering, and handled the basics (feeding, litter, water, general check-ins) without me needing to micromanage anything from the road. Truly a great experience, and I’d highly recommend her!”

About: I have been cat sitting and fostering pets for about a year now, taking care of friends cats and helping animals in crisis (medical needs requiring them to be away from the shelter or in need of a temporary home). I work from home, so taking care of pets and being available to any of their needs would fit very easily into my daily or weekly routine. I would care for pets in my home just as they were my own pets. They would be free to roam the house (barring a few closed doors) and I would cater to any medical needs or preferences and follow their pre-determined schedule as closely as possible.
“Sharon did an amazing job taking care of our babies! She treated them as if they were her own. Highly recommend and will definitely be requesting her help in the future. Just the sweetest person ever!”

“Nancy was perfect with my cats, no complaints! I appreciate her checking up with them and always giving me a run-down of how it went. I would definitely book again!”

“Ricky took great care of my cats and had now issues give my cat her medication twice a day. He sent me frequent updates and let me know they doing well. I’m very happy with him taking care of my cats and definitely recommend him to other pet parents.”

About: Hi all! I grew up with having dogs my whole life- we had a lab, a pug, and a pekignese, so I have a lot of experience with different sized dogs. My husband is also a big dog lover and grew up fostering many dogs who needed some extra love and care before finding their forever homes. My husband and I have half an acre of grass for your pup to run around in (unfenced) and will treat your dog as our own. We do work during the week in the office, so during the week we are only able to care for dogs that are able to be left at home during the work day. We typically work from home Thursdays/Fridays, and are home all weekend and would love to take care of your dog during weekend trips. Your pup will be in safe care and have a built in cuddle buddy and play partner with our 10 year old Mini Australian Shepherd, Ruby. We’d ideally love to do a meet and greet to ensure we are the right fit to care for your pup. We are primarily available for boarding on the weekends Thursday-Sunday. We both work from home on Thursdays, and my husband works from home on Fridays. We’d also be able to board your pup during the rest of the week if they are able to left alone during the work day. We have an unfenced half acre yard, so please let us know if your dog is okay to be off leash or is a runner. We have no problem keeping your dog leashed if needed and also have an outdoor leash/anchor so they can have some more freedom a well. We will treat your dog as our own which means lots of cuddles! Dogs are allowed on furniture and we will feed according to your preferences and schedules. We do have a medium sized kennel available if needed for your pup.
“This was our first time booking through Rover, so I was skeptical. After reading so many great reviews about Amber, I decided to give her a try. She is absolutely amazing! She came to meet our boys first, and they fell in love with her immediately. While we were away, she kept us super informed about everything and sent us many pictures. She let us know what the dogs were doing throughout the day and shared so many photos! She is a genuine dog whisperer, and we will continue to book her from now on. She even left some toys for the boys after her last day of watching them. You can truly trust her; she is a gem, and both dogs and adults adore her. Thank you, Amber! :-)”

“Lindy was awesome for our cat sitting job! She was very timely, communicated amazingly, and was very responsible/trustworthy. Our cats were very happy and well taken care of. She is a very nice person too! Loved her thank you note and photos. We will hire again!”

“Rena did an amazing job taking care of my shy cat. She was attentive, reliable, caring, patient, and went above and beyond anything we expected. She will be my "go to" sitter from now on, and I would absolutely recommend her for anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Stephanie was very responsive and easy to communicate with. She took great care of our pups and sent me photos of her time with them. We will definitely call on her again when we need help with our dogs”

About: Over the last 20 years I have dog sat for my brother and a couple friends. I would let the dogs out to play, potty, feed them etc. My brother also has cats and a fish tank as well. I have had dogs and cats since I was a little girl. Right now I have a hound mix that is 100 pounds and his name is Logan. I will treat your furry friend like my own and love on them as well. I love animals in general. I believe every animal deserves to be cared for wit love, respect, and dignity. They are like humans they have feelings as well. I would love to help you and your family out with your furry friend. You can reach out to me anytime. I currently have a 100 pound hound mix who i absolutely love. He is five years old and five months. He took some time to get used to us as a puppy as we think he was abused. I take him for walks, let him out back and stay with him, and play with him with his favorite toy(tennis balls) I have grown up with animals my entire life. Dogs, cats, upon many others. I have also watched animals for friends and family. I will treat anyone's animals with love. I have a fenced in backyard I let my dog out in. I'm constantly outside with him playing and loving on him to make sure he is safe from anything that will hurt him. I take him on walks in my subdivision to give him a little more exercise. When someone needs to me watch their pet I am letting them out back to play while remaining outside with them and making sure they have fresh air. I will also do daily walks when needed.

About: From working at a doggy daycare/boarding facility to now working as an assistant at a veterinarian hospital, I can provide for all of your pets needs. Due to working full-time at a veterinarian hospital, some planning may need to be done in advance, but otherwise we can work something out when needed. With two playmates and crates when needed, your pet will be well taken care of. With plenty of sidewalk space and a park within walking distance, your pet will have loads of fun

“Felicia was great! Able to come by with very short notice. Sent photos and videos of my boy while she was watching him. Had no problems handling him. Will definitely use again when needed!”

About: I have had over 30 years of experience with a variety of pets. I worked in a family run pet store during high school and college, spent many years as a vet tech and have owned cats, dogs, birds, fish, reptiles and numerous other small animals over the years. Finding someone to care for your smaller animals can be challenging, so I am hoping to be able to provide that service to my community. I currently work full time from home but have incredible flexibility with no strict work hours. I tend to be a very early morning person (up at 4am to exercise) and early to bed by 9pm. I understand the importance of keeping your pets in the same routine as you would if you were not away so I will do my best to be flexible. Cats need fresh food, water and litter box cleaning daily, and even multiple times daily depending on the situation. I am also able to give medications (orally, injections, etc.). And of course, if your cat bonds with me, I'm happy to hang out and give him/her some love. I also realize some cats may not take well to strangers and having volunteered at Furkids, I know it may take a lot of patience and time to build that bond.
“Krista did an excellent job. I was impressed with the pictures she sent. Emma was so happy. And she took care of her litter box! Emma is so particular about that. My girl was pleased to see me & wasn’t upset at all so she must have been very pleased with Krista’s presence. 5stars! Absolutely the best!”

“Seriously phenomenal. She did exactly what I needed her to do and I left her with a barely stayed in between trips messy apartment and I didn't even BARELY feel judged. She's perfect. I'll use her every time I go out of town if I can! The cats were themselves and she was right there with them understanding their shyness. She's perfect”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
