“Carolyn is very attentive to my pet and has done a great job with drop ins, especially since my pet was 2 days list op from being neutered and not feeling his best self. I appreciate how caring she is and attentive to his needs.”

“Erin was wonderful. My cats loved her. The reports and photos she sent to me were so reassuring. I would invite her back anytime. She went above and beyond in her visits.”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover, having cats growing up and later volunteering with dogs at rescue orgs. My time as a training class assistant for Puppy Manners and New Dog Basics at the San Francisco SPCA gave me valuable skills in positive reinforcement training, socialization, and handling dogs of all temperaments. Beyond dogs and cats, I also have experience with horses, having owned and leased several. I’m comfortable with feeding, turnout, mucking stalls, brushing, and general equine care, making me a well-rounded caregiver for multi-pet households. What sets me apart is my ability to care for pets at all life stages—from energetic puppies learning the ropes to senior pets needing extra patience and comfort. Whether it’s structured walks, reinforcing good manners, or providing a calm and loving presence, I tailor my care to each pet’s unique needs. With a deep understanding of pet behavior across species and a passion for ensuring their happiness and well-being, I go beyond basic care to provide engaging, enriching, and compassionate pet companionship. After our Husky mix’s TPLO surgery in Fall 2024, I’ve decided to make pet care my main focus. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and this shift allows me to dedicate my time and energy to providing top-quality care for pets in my community. With a flexible schedule, I’m available for daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and customized care based on each pet’s needs. Whether it’s a midday walk, feeding and playtime, or extra TLC for pets recovering from surgery, I tailor my services to fit both routine and special care requirements. My experience with dogs, cats, and even horses means I’m comfortable handling a variety of schedules—from structured training sessions to free-spirited outdoor adventures. No matter the time of day, I ensure pets get the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or my clients’ homes. At my home, we have a fully fenced yard, providing a secure and spacious area for dogs to play and explore. Your pup will also have built-in companionship with our two friendly dogs, ensuring plenty of socialization and fun. For exercise and enrichment, we have scenic trails nearby, perfect for peaceful walks in the woods—giving dogs a chance to sniff, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors. In my clients’ homes, I respect each pet’s unique routine and environment, providing attentive, reliable, and compassionate care. Whether it’s reinforcing training, maintaining feeding schedules, or ensuring a calm presence while you're away, I treat every pet like they’re my own. No matter the setting, I focus on creating a safe, stress-free, and enriching experience for pets—so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in loving hands.
“Jessica is amazing! She's been so patient with my 1yo stranger danger issues and so kind to my old boy who needs a little extra help here and there. She's also been very communicative on any questions or concerns, and has not once come across as annoyed at my near daily texts while I'm adjusting to have someone care for my pets. I hope to keep her around for a while.”

“Adeline is officially my puppy’s favorite sitter, and we look forward to continuing to rebook her exceptional services! 10/10 recommend her to take care of your pets!”

“Due to no fault of his own, we learned through this experience that apparently my kitties would rather bond with females. Yet, Amir pulled through, going far and beyond to find that bond. He, on his own, bought toys and treats, trying to coax them out of their shells. He searched our house through and through trying to find our one kitty, who insisted on hiding the entire time he was in our home. If, and when, you are in a situation where you have to leave your animals in the hands of another - for us, this meant traveling of state and really needing someone we could trust to be our best replacements - Amir is your guy! If, and when, we are in need again, we will be calling him”
“Shianne was great to work with! I appreciated that she set up a meet and greet to talk through our cat’s set up. She is very personable and reliable and I would love to have her take care of our cat next time we are away.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Summer checking in and visiting my young and shy kitty Casper! She was always on time or early, and her communication was and is excellent. She sent updates with pictures and videos, and I had total peace of mind knowing Casper was in good hands while I was away. She is so wonderful, she brought little gifts and treats for Casper! I trust and recommend Summer, and I would definitely book her again in the future! 🫶🏼”

“This is my first time having Layne check in on my pet and she was great! She came and met him before and was nothing short of excellent for check-ins. My pet has specific needs and she was able to meet them with no issues. I would highly recommend Layne!!”

“I would rebook with Kat. She took good care of our 3 kitties while we were away. She followed our overly complicated feeding instructions and sent pictures of them eating and a few of them hanging out. One of the weekend days she definitely fed them all breakfast closer to lunchtime, but I still felt like they were in good hands, and in her defense I had expressed some flexibility in their feeding time. She also went out of her way to set our cat camera back up after the cats knocked it over so we could continue spying on one of their favorite hangout spots. Cats were happy and healthy when I got back.”

“Consistent communication, mishap on my part and she worked around it to make sure my boy was taken care of. Always cheerful and happy to come out check up on chief. 10/10 will request again.”

“Lynden was wonderful to work with -- very caring and compassionate -- and it was such a relief knowing she was making daily visits while we were gone.”

“Absolutely amazing! Bliss was an amazing communicator, gave great updates, and took really great care of my kitty! She really went out of her way to care for him! My cat is very shy and is very anxious around new people but he LOVED her and warmed up to her the second she walked in. He has never done this with anyone, it’s was so cute and sweet and im glad he found another friend to trust! Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Matthew did an amazing job coming by our house to check on our cat and gather our mail. He contacted us with updates on how everything was. Would definitely have him house sit again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clackamas
JuliAnna was fantastic! We left our 6 year old dog with her last minute. This job required her to be extremely flexible. Our trip out of town was last minute and we had never met JuliAnna prior this but we had her a chance and we lucked out! She handled our dog fantastically with almost no guidance from us. Extremely trustworthy and my dog had never been this happy. I can’t recommend JuliAnna enough!

Thomas was amazing with Lovie. Every time I leave town, I usually come home to a chewed-up dog bed and signs of stress, but not this time. Thomas provided the consistency in her routine that she really needs to stay calm and happy. He asked thoughtful questions and took careful notes on all the little things that make a difference. I also really appreciated the check-in updates and photos from each visit, it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I will absolutely be reaching out to Thomas for future trips. Highly recommend!

We’ve worked with Katlynne several times and she’s always done a great job! Our pets are pretty high maintenance and we always get nervous leaving them, but she’s very reliable and goes above and beyond our care instructions. She was even willing to check on and feed our chickens!

Madelyn K. is incredible. I have guinea pigs and chickens and she expertly took care of them, no problem. It's harder to find a sitter who will do "exotics". She gave our cat lots of love and even cleaned up some throw up! You'd be crazy not to book her for your pet care needs.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
