About: I’m a lifelong animal lover, having cats growing up and later volunteering with dogs at rescue orgs. My time as a training class assistant for Puppy Manners and New Dog Basics at the San Francisco SPCA gave me valuable skills in positive reinforcement training, socialization, and handling dogs of all temperaments. Beyond dogs and cats, I also have experience with horses, having owned and leased several. I’m comfortable with feeding, turnout, mucking stalls, brushing, and general equine care, making me a well-rounded caregiver for multi-pet households. What sets me apart is my ability to care for pets at all life stages—from energetic puppies learning the ropes to senior pets needing extra patience and comfort. Whether it’s structured walks, reinforcing good manners, or providing a calm and loving presence, I tailor my care to each pet’s unique needs. With a deep understanding of pet behavior across species and a passion for ensuring their happiness and well-being, I go beyond basic care to provide engaging, enriching, and compassionate pet companionship. After our Husky mix’s TPLO surgery in Fall 2024, I’ve decided to make pet care my main focus. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and this shift allows me to dedicate my time and energy to providing top-quality care for pets in my community. With a flexible schedule, I’m available for daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and customized care based on each pet’s needs. Whether it’s a midday walk, feeding and playtime, or extra TLC for pets recovering from surgery, I tailor my services to fit both routine and special care requirements. My experience with dogs, cats, and even horses means I’m comfortable handling a variety of schedules—from structured training sessions to free-spirited outdoor adventures. No matter the time of day, I ensure pets get the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or my clients’ homes. At my home, we have a fully fenced yard, providing a secure and spacious area for dogs to play and explore. Your pup will also have built-in companionship with our two friendly dogs, ensuring plenty of socialization and fun. For exercise and enrichment, we have scenic trails nearby, perfect for peaceful walks in the woods—giving dogs a chance to sniff, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors. In my clients’ homes, I respect each pet’s unique routine and environment, providing attentive, reliable, and compassionate care. Whether it’s reinforcing training, maintaining feeding schedules, or ensuring a calm presence while you're away, I treat every pet like they’re my own. No matter the setting, I focus on creating a safe, stress-free, and enriching experience for pets—so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in loving hands.

“Myka is wonderful with my hyper-reactive cane corso! She comes in, gets Athena hooked up to the leash right away, and takes her for a good walk. Myka has gone above and beyond with keeping me updated and informed of any issues or conditions that need addressed. Athena is very comfortable around Myka, which is quite rare for Athena. Myka comes in with a quiet confidence and just takes charge of things for Athena. I dont know what I'd do without Myka!”

“Due to no fault of his own, we learned through this experience that apparently my kitties would rather bond with females. Yet, Amir pulled through, going far and beyond to find that bond. He, on his own, bought toys and treats, trying to coax them out of their shells. He searched our house through and through trying to find our one kitty, who insisted on hiding the entire time he was in our home. If, and when, you are in a situation where you have to leave your animals in the hands of another - for us, this meant traveling of state and really needing someone we could trust to be our best replacements - Amir is your guy! If, and when, we are in need again, we will be calling him”

“Kimberly takes such wonderful care of my deaf/blind old pup, Ollie and my shy kitty, Louise! She had dropped by to care for them a few times and I absolutely adore the photos she sends. I can just tell that both of my animals are comfortable and curious with Kimberly. I know it’s because Kimberly treats them like they were her own. It is so clear that she loves animals and really will go the extra mile (or few) to make sure the animals are cared for. Five stars and would highly recommended!”

About: Not currently accepting new clients. Due to my current stream of regular customers, I am not accepting new pets for the safety of your pups and my sanity! 😆 Thank you so much to all my loyal customers. I love all your fur babies! I have been an owner and lover of dogs my whole life. I’ve always had a special connection with animals. I have always owned at least two dogs sometimes three, and treat them like family. I have volunteered at animal shelters, doggy day cares for Inside Out, and studied pre-veterinary medicine at Portland State. I was unable to go to veterinary school due to certain life changes, but always have had a passion for caring for animals. I currently work full time from home, where my 3 dogs, Benji, Porter and Sparkles keep me company. I’m able to give them extra special attention and walks with my work schedule. I have a large fenced yard, playmates and a dog door. I will spend a lot of time with your pet and love every minute of it!

About: See my $20 Off QR Code in my photos! I love being around animals and have been around them my whole life. I grew up in generations of animal & nature-lovers. It’s a gift to be able to connect with animals. I love to return the positive energy an animal gives. I feel like every animal deserves kindness. I feel like I have a gift to be able read, understand, calm and relax and add happiness to an animal’s day. They are therapy for me as much as I feel I am for them. I’m happiest and genuinely feel most at-ease with animals. It’s important for me they feel comfortable with and around me. I know that much like human children, routine is very important to pets. If you need me to check in on them, feed /water them, potty breaks/short walks/close-by parks/play toss-the-ball, hug/cuddle/companion-time or stay at your home I am available to help. I develop unique connections to each animal I’m around and grateful to be around each one. Whatever a pet-owner needs me to do to help make their pet’s day better, I’m up for the challenge. Animals make my day, daily! Whether it be my friend’s dogs & cats or the Brahma bull that is up the road, I try to see an animal each day. I do have experience with animals that have high-anxiety, special needs and abusive backgrounds. I currently have a few tears in my meniscus which is preventing me to do rigorous walks. I will be scheduling surgery soon but that does not prevent me from tossing a ball around for a dog. I look forward to meeting and caring for your pet(s)! I am looking to assist with in-home day/night(s) stays, drop-in visits and walks. I’m available anytime and look forward to meeting you & your pet(s)! Although I do have a wonderful, small fenced-in yard, I live in an 800 sq ft home therefore, I think it's best to go where the pet is most-comfortable (their own home).

About: With over two decades of animal care experience, my journey began as a child caring for our family's English Springer Spaniels and cats, where I discovered my natural affinity for animals. This early passion made me the go-to caretaker for classroom pets throughout my school years. As an adult, I've owned several dogs, including a beloved Boxer who shared 10 wonderful years with me, and currently care for two rescue dogs - a Labrador Mix and a Pit Bull Terrier Mix. Through my extensive volunteer work at a local dog shelter since 2021, I manage the daily care and cleaning for up to 25 dogs, many with complex medical needs or behavioral challenges. My professional pet sitting experience spans over three years with private clients, and I've developed expertise in handling medium to large breeds with high energy and prey drive. I'm equally comfortable caring for shy and timid smaller breeds, reactive dogs, and senior pets requiring medication. My feline experience includes managing a Maine Coon cattery of 10-20 cats, and I've cared for cats in all life stages, from newborn kittens to pregnant mothers. Beyond cats and dogs, my animal care expertise extends to reptiles, aquarium maintenance, and farm animals including chickens, goats, and horses. I've also managed large populations of show rabbits, sometimes exceeding 100 animals. I'm comfortable administering medications to all species and have extensive experience managing special needs pets. My clients receive focused, individual attention as I do not combine pet sitting assignments. I currently work full-time Monday - Thursday (7 am-5 pm). I also volunteer on Sundays (7 am-11 am). During the months of May- October I travel weekly of out town for work, but available during weekends. I’m open to weekday availability during the months of November - May, as long as the pet owner is aware of my work and volunteer schedule. As your dedicated pet sitter, I believe in providing comprehensive care that goes beyond the basics. During my visits, your pets will receive personalized attention through engaging playtime, appropriate exercise, and mental enrichment activities tailored to their energy levels and preferences. I follow your detailed feeding instructions carefully and maintain clean food and water dishes throughout my stay. Understanding your pet's dietary needs is essential - I'll note their treat allowance and any food or environmental allergies to ensure their safety and well-being. Getting to know your pet's unique personality, quirks, and daily routines is a priority for me. I take time to understand their comfort levels, favorite activities, and any special requirements they may have. My goal is to create a stress-free environment where your pets feel secure and content in your absence. Housekeeping is equally important - I take pride in maintaining a clean environment and will ensure your home is in pristine condition upon your return. As part of my service, I'm happy to handle additional tasks such as watering indoor and outdoor plants, collecting mail, and managing trash bins. Your peace of mind is my top priority, both for your pets and your home.

Ryleigh was amazing and took great care of my two cats while I was out of town for a little over two weeks. My flight ended up getting cancelled and moved to the next morning. Ryleigh was more than happy to check in on my kitties for an additional night, with last minute notice. I received photos every day of my little boys, they got play time in, and she was kind enough to also water my plants once a week. Thank you so much, Ryleigh, you’re the best!!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Holcomb

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
