“Julie is a very kind and reliable dog sitter! She walked my dog Ivy every week this summer and boarded Ivy in her home for a weekend. She is very responsive to messages and provides detailed Rover card walk recaps. Ivy seems to love her time with her. Thank you, Julie!”

“Lissette is the best, most reliable, most considerate, most thorough sitter of all time. I’d made a mistake in the booking and she caught it and helped me sort it out. I wouldn’t trust my dog with anyone else.”

“Jordana was amazing! We have a 6 month old puppy and she took amazing care of her and went out of her way to help us feel confident leaving our puppy home. She is extremely accommodating and you can tell she adores animals. We will definitely be reaching out to her again when we have pet care needs!”

“Aiden is the best walking companion for our doggo! Amazing communication and also very accommodating when schedules change. Our dog had surgery and Aiden was so wonderful keeping him company, in addition to feeding him and giving him medication. We’re so grateful for Aiden’s help!”

About: I grew up with pets and have been dog and cat sitting since middle school for friends, family, and neighbors. In high school, my mom started doing Rover, and I loved coming home after school to a new friendly face every day! I’m happy to go on walks, cuddle on the couch, play in the yard, or simply hang out—whatever makes your pet happiest. I work full-time, but I’m happy to carve out time before work, during my lunch break, or promptly at 5 p.m. to give your pet some love and attention. If you work long hours, need a midday break for your pet, or need help on evenings or weekends, I’m flexible and happy to work around your schedule! I’m happy to follow any guidelines you provide to keep your pet comfortable and on their normal routine. I can accommodate walks of any length, carefully follow feeding and medication instructions, and pay close attention to your pet’s individual needs, quirks, and preferences. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away!
“Grace has been a God send. I am new to Rover, but after meeting her my anxiety lessened & then after the immediate updates & pictures I know Lula is in good hands. There aren't enough words to describe Grace & how much she is helping me. I highly recommend her!”

“Dakota connects well with our dog Patrick and is able to re-direct him when he wants to just turn around and come home. Our pup can be just one small ball of over excitement and exuberance and they handle that well. Dakota has been very reliable and always lets me know if he needs to adjust the time a bit.”

“Abby was great. Came over the week before to meet my dogs. She came over on time to play with the dogs in the backyard (it was too hot for a mid-day walk). The dogs looked happy in the pics and were happy when we arrived back home!”

“I had surgery & needed an evening dogwalker for my 75 lb hound. Tracy agreed to the 2 weeks of walks & weekend afternoon extra walks. She’s been fantastic! I highly recommend her. She’s on time and great with my dog who is an enthusiastic fellow.”

“Alice was really accommodating by helping me out at the last minute. She was prompt in her responses through the app and send good communications and my dog. Great service! Thank you!”

“Amy is the best! She is amazing with my dog who isn’t the easiest. She found a loose dog during one of her check-ins with us and even helped that dog/made sure it got to the right people and then spent extra time with mine. 💕”

“I'm very thankful to have found Emil. I work in retail and consequently work almost every weekend. Emil walks my little chihuahua for me every Saturday and Sunday. He's very reliable and I never worry that he won't be able to make it. He also responds to any requests or questions very quickly. I wholeheartedly recommend Emil if you need someone to help care for your pups!”

“This is the first time we hired Christian to walk our dog and it was a great experience. Christian was so kind with Remy and made sure that he was comfortable. Highly recommend!”

About: I have my own dog that I’ve been training since he was a puppy. I have experience potty training, giving oral medication and more. I grew up with dogs and have been pet sitting for friends and neighbors since I was in middle school. I have experience with large and small dogs as well as young and older dogs. I just graduated with a bachelors in biochemistry & Nutrition and Exercise at Virginia Tech. I’m now home living with my parents and have a very flexible schedule! I currently live in a house, there’s plenty of open grass, walking areas and even a fenced in back yard for any dog to run around in! Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
