About: I have a large family dog that I have been responsible for since I was about 10 years old. She has since gotten older so I have experience with a senior dog and giving any sorts of medication (and the peanut butter necessary to get her to take it). I am no stranger to having to clean up any accidents in the house so that is a non-issue for me. I am also open to taking care of other animals like rodents or turtles or other cage creatures. I am a true and passionate animal lover! My schedule is very flexible at the moment. I am happy to give as much or little time needed for the pets. I can figure out any scheduling and details necessary with clients. I am never loud coming into a home. I always let the pets come to me unless they are hiding on purpose. I take care instructions very seriously and will follow everything exactly and will reach out if I have questions about the best way I can care for your fur friend.

Dakota connects well with our dog Patrick and is able to re-direct him when he wants to just turn around and come home. Our pup can be just one small ball of over excitement and exuberance and they handle that well. Dakota has been very reliable and always lets me know if he needs to adjust the time a bit.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds for over 8 years and have experience with feeding, walking, bathing, playtime, and overnight care. Friends, neighbors, and family have relied on me to care for their pets and make sure they feel comfortable and safe while away. I also have personal experience with wound care and closely monitoring my own dog during recovery, so I understand the importance of patience, attentiveness, and following care instructions carefully. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet like my own. I’m currently working part time at the University of Virginia, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to spend caring for your pets throughout the week. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, overnight stays, and making sure your pets get lots of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in both my home and my client’s home. I carefully follow feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and any special care requests. I pay close attention to pets’ behavior and needs and make sure they get plenty of affection, exercise, and supervision. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident their pets are in good hands.

Julia was so kind when my apartment locks her out she stayed with Randall until I could get there to let them in and also offered to take him to her home to watch him until I could get to them, luckily I was 10 minutes away at work and got to them quickly, but if it hadn’t been for her, my dog would’ve been locked out of his own

About: I have been taking care of friends, family members animals for over 2 years now while attending college. I love giving care to their furry friends while they are away. Having animals myself I understand the need to have a trustworthy caretaker while away! I look forward to become your pets new friend! I currently work 30/32 hours a week usually during the early mornings or mid afternoons. I have usually offered early morning walks or evening walks to those in need! I am able to do overnights as well, but always check to make sure the animals will be okay while I work! I have always tried to take care of the pets in the exact way the client has asked. I am able to sit in during meals, stay to get energy out, or even squirrel watch! I always try to make the animals stay in the routine that they have known!

Abby was great. Came over the week before to meet my dogs. She came over on time to play with the dogs in the backyard (it was too hot for a mid-day walk). The dogs looked happy in the pics and were happy when we arrived back home!

About: I’ve always had animals growing up. My family bred Saint Bernards, so I have experience with animals of all sizes and ages. I loved helping take care of them, but have been unable since I moved for college. I am really excited to meet your pets. I’m currently working part-time with a very flexible job. I can do anytime as long as I have about a weeks notice prior. Thank you! I have a fenced in court-yard and currently have no pets, so your pet is my number 1 priority. About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and absolutely love caring for them. I have two cats of my own, and I enjoy dog and cat sitting just as much as spending time with my own pets. Since I love going on long walks, I’m the perfect match for dogs who need some exercise. Whether it's a walk, a check in, or overnight, I will make sure your pets get all the love and care they need! I currently work close to full time, but I still have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to other responsibilities. My days are always free until 4pm, and I’m also available later in the evenings. In addition, I’m off every Sunday, which allows me even more time! I will care for your pets with the same love and compassion I give my own. I'm responsible and dependable, and my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

FAQs for Dog Walking - Glenmore

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 577 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Glenmore. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Glenmore. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Glenmore.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glenmore. On Rover:

  • 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
