Dakota was friendly, flexible, and reliable. Sam always enjoyed his time with Dakota. Dakota interspersed neighborhood walks & trips to the dog park with visits to Barnes & Noble and other places. We will use Dakota again without reservation and highly recommend him to care for your pet.

Amy was a fantastic friend to our 10-year old Husky while we were out of town. She frequently went “above and beyond” to assure that She was calm and settled. Our reports were detailed and thoughtful. Additional, she was extremely responsive to us and our dog. We are grateful and recommend her as a thoughtful, caring pet partner!

About: I have a large family dog that I have been responsible for since I was about 10 years old. She has since gotten older so I have experience with a senior dog and giving any sorts of medication (and the peanut butter necessary to get her to take it). I am no stranger to having to clean up any accidents in the house so that is a non-issue for me. I am also open to taking care of other animals like rodents or turtles or other cage creatures. I am a true and passionate animal lover! My schedule is very flexible at the moment. I am happy to give as much or little time needed for the pets. I can figure out any scheduling and details necessary with clients. I am never loud coming into a home. I always let the pets come to me unless they are hiding on purpose. I take care instructions very seriously and will follow everything exactly and will reach out if I have questions about the best way I can care for your fur friend.

I'm very thankful to have found Emil. I work in retail and consequently work almost every weekend. Emil walks my little chihuahua for me every Saturday and Sunday. He's very reliable and I never worry that he won't be able to make it. He also responds to any requests or questions very quickly. I wholeheartedly recommend Emil if you need someone to help care for your pups!

About: I’ve always had animals growing up. My family bred Saint Bernards, so I have experience with animals of all sizes and ages. I loved helping take care of them, but have been unable since I moved for college. I am really excited to meet your pets. I’m currently working part-time with a very flexible job. I can do anytime as long as I have about a weeks notice prior. Thank you! I have a fenced in court-yard and currently have no pets, so your pet is my number 1 priority. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with plenty of space for your animals!

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and absolutely love caring for them. I have two cats of my own, and I enjoy dog and cat sitting just as much as spending time with my own pets. Since I love going on long walks, I’m the perfect match for dogs who need some exercise. Whether it's a walk, a check in, or overnight, I will make sure your pets get all the love and care they need! I currently work close to full time, but I still have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to other responsibilities. My days are always free until 4pm, and I’m also available later in the evenings. In addition, I’m off every Sunday, which allows me even more time! I will care for your pets with the same love and compassion I give my own. I'm responsible and dependable, and my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I treat every pet like my own giving them plenty of care, attention, and love. I have experience with both energetic puppies and gentle senior pets, tailoring my care to meet their unique needs. Whether your dog needs extra playtime, medication, or just company, I make sure they stay happy and comfortable while you’re away. My communication is consistent, and I always keep pet parents updated with photos and notes for peace of mind. Pet care fits really well into my weekly routine. I currently work three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility on my off days and most weekends to focus on pets. For drop-in visits, I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure they have fresh water, food as instructed, a potty break, and plenty of playtime or cuddles so they feel comfortable while you’re away. For dog walks, I focus on safe, enjoyable walks that match your dog’s energy level, making sure they get exercise, enrichment, and a chance to explore while I keep you updated with notes and photos after each visit.

  • 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
