I love all pets but my favorites are big dogs and old cats — I have a 21 year old cat and a French Mastiff back home. My law school classes start in the late morning and are spread throughout the day, which gives me flexibility for morning visits, midday check-ins, and walks. For clients in Charlottesville, I’m able to come back to the home between classes, so pets aren’t left alone for long stretches. When I care for pets in your home, I focus on keeping them comfortable, relaxed, and never feeling alone. I spend time with them in common spaces so they can get used to me. If they’re comfortable, I let pets sleep in my room at night so they don’t feel lonely or miss their owners too much. Safety is a top priority for me—I never take dogs outside a fenced yard without a leash, even if they’re well trained, and I’m very careful with doors and entryways (I know all the kitty-proof tricks to prevent curious cats from sneaking out). About: My name is Kailyn, and I cannot wait to get to know your pet! Having grown up with 3 dogs and 2 cats throughout my childhood, I have been grown up to be a huge animal lover. As an adult, I am lucky to be a cat mama to two beautiful boys, Tito and Cosmo, that I found as strays and have raised from ~6 weeks old. I have 7 years of experience in dog and cat care outside of my home, including puppy, kitten, and senior care, as well as pets that are a bit more anxious (or spicy!) than others. I am convinced that there isn't an animal on this planet that I can't win over. I am well-versed in understanding cues and body language and take pride in my ability to earn an animal's trust through slow and thoughful first interactions. My sister, Avantae, and I also co-own a pet care business and have over 15 years of combined petsitting experience, along with over 10 years of veterinary experience that Avantae brings to the table. About: My family had labradors from the time I was an infant. All of ours were raised as puppies, well behaved and successfully potty trained. I also had a French bulldog raised from a puppy as an adult. In recent years I have learned love cats through my wife, and we now have 4 lovely adult indoor cats who we rescued all as kittens. I work from home 9-5 Monday through Friday. I can be flexible for mid-day visits, although mornings and afternoons/evenings are more reliable. I am generally available at all times of day on weekends. I have my own transportation and I’m happy to accommodate your needs. About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve had big and small dogs. I currently have two small Morkies, Pickle and Penny. Pickle requires a special diet and pills to be given daily. Penny loves to be close and cuddle. My parents dogs is a black lab who over the past few years I’ve helped take care of. She has Addison disease and requires medication daily. She also needs a special routine to help keep her from getting overwhelmed. I’ve also had cats throughout my whole life and frequently had to give medications to my last cat Tilly.
