“Brian is great! He asked a lot of questions during our meet and greet to get an idea of my dogs needs. He’s really good with my senior dog who needs frequent trips outside. I definitely recommend him!”
“Milo did an excellent job watching our puppy while we were away! He communicated very well, sent us updates and photos, and kept the house neat. It’s clear how much he loves and cares about animals and we would gladly have him back to watch out pup!”

“Melanie was awesome!!! We highly recommend her for your fur babies! She was very professional, kind, considerate and responsible. She took excellent care of our two large doodles and our home, as she stayed at our home 5days and 5nights. She arrived as agreed and fed them their raw diet, responsibly. She sat with them outside regularly and cuddled with them in the evening. We really appreciated her excellent communication and attention to detail. She sent us photos of our two pups with a quick text of how well they were doing, every morning and night. This gave us great comfort and peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our vacation even more, knowing they were well cared for. When we got home our home looked just as we left it. She was very clean and neat and cared of our home as well!”

“Corrine was great! Incredibly kind, prompt, and responsive to a very last minute request. I could not have asked for a better sitter. She communicated and sent pics which really set my mind at ease. Thank you thank you thank you!”

About: I have been taking care of animals of many different breeds and species for almost my whole life! I have owned rodents, reptiles, aquatic animals, avians, and canines alike! I currently own a chocolate lab who is the love of my life and have experience taking care of her while my parents are on vacation! I am a big lover of all creatures and give them the special treatment they deserve! I am currently working part time at Ulta around 11-15 hours a week. I am usually home in the afternoons or early mornings to take care of pets. I am also a student who goes to school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays this semester. I take my dog out on night walks and usually feed her early in the morning so she is set for the day! I have safe locks and a wide yard for my dog to roam. She also has an E-collar to keep her safe so she knows where her boundaries are. We also get rid of trees that may cause hazards. We have flat ground too.
“Michelle was great with my Great Danes! She sent many pictures of them running around the yard, getting cozy, and just being their goofy selves. She managed meds, feeds, fun, and supported them through a stormy night. What I appreciated most is that Michelle is a great communicator! I would love to have her watch the boys again!”

“Karlysse helped us out last minute over the holidays and took amazing care of our two dogs. We came home to a spotless house and two very happy pups. We would absolutely hire her again!”

“Karla has been watching my senior dog off and on for the last 2 years and she is hands down the best sitter I've every worked with and am so grateful for her professional care whenever I have to leave town. My old boy takes several supplements and medications and needs special care due to his age and Karla competently and patiently takes care of him in a way that is above and beyond the job. She's experienced, an excellent communicator and is incredibly genuine. I couldn't recommend her more and encourage any dog or cat owner to seek her out!”

I know every pet has a unique personality, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll also send regular photo and text updates so you can have peace of mind. I work part-time as an assistant infant teacher, so my schedule varies throughout the week. I’m available for pet care before and after work, on evenings, and on many weekends. I’ll always communicate my availability in advance and make sure your pet receives the care, attention, exercise, and love they deserve while you’re away. I do my best to be flexible and reliable to fit your pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. “Michael made our pup with extreme separation anxiety feel comfortable. He obviously has a love of dogs and we are delighted to have found him. He was very punctual and communicated very well about arrival times and his availability. I would highly recommend him.”

About: I have grown up surrounded by various animals and I love taking care of them. I want to make fur babies as happy as possible! I am currently working part time at a law firm while I go to law school and am looking for a way to hang with more furry friends! I have one small dog at home who is very friendly and playful. She would love to run around with your fur baby all day.
“Diandra was incredible! She was so communicative and so kind! She left our house in SPARKLING shape- I think it was cleaner when we got home than when we left! She swung with some annoyances too- our house lost power in 95 degree weather and I messed up our days off and asked literally the day before she was going to leave if she could spend an extra night. She was super easy going about both. I feel so lucky we found her and I will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“The level of care and attention to detail Zachary will give your pet & your home exceeds all expectations! Super reliable and responsible, Zachary went above and beyond the standard. We are extremely happy and so is our pup! We will definitely be reaching out to Zachary for future gigs. Thanks again, Zachary!”

“Renata is amazing with pets! She stayed at our home for two days to care for our dog Koa, our kitty Tiny, and our bunny. She did a great job, sent pictures and updates, and we enjoyed our trip knowing our fur babies were safe and cared for:) I highly recommend her. Thanks so much Renata🙏🥰”

About: I’ve owned many dogs since I was very young and have helped in caring in them. I’ve also watched over neighbors dogs and cats, taken them for walks, fed them and played with them. I work a part time job and am looking for something nice to fill in my time outside of it. I usually range from having 20-25 hr weeks and am free the remainder or the time I have a large yard with two dogs who love to play and run around. I’ll go out with them multiple times a day to go to the bathroom and play fetch with them. I always keep a close eye on them and make sure they aren’t getting into things they shouldn’t. I feed them twice a day, once in the morning and evening and always make sure their water is full.
“Josie took amazing care of our sweet dogs over Thanksgiving. I had peace of mind that they were loved and cared for. She sent lots of pics and was very responsive. We had to add on one more day to our trip unexpectedly and Josie was very accommodating. Will definitely ask her to take care of our dogs again!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Autumn. She is by far the best sitter I’ve ever used, she is genuinely a sweet and kind person who truly cares about my dogs, I even have a Malinois and she made sure that he got enough exercise, and I could tell how much the dogs liked her which made me feel so good about leaving them with her. She spent so much time with them, so it was more than just house sitting, she actually spent time with the dogs, played with them and I never felt worried the entire time I was gone. So lucky to have found her! 100% recommend if you want to be stress free about your pets while you travel.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brighton
Milo did a wonderful job with my dog Blaire and my cat Lucy. I received updates throughout the day with fun pictures of them cuddling, playing and walking. Blaire especially was smitten. I would not hesitate to recommend Milo and I hope to be able to use him again in the future.

Michelle is an amazing dog sitter, but she is more than that! She pivoted at the last minute to care for an injured songbird that had flown into my house and was determined to stay! Her gracious and supportive care was extraordinary! The pictures of my 2 year old great dane boys show their goofy playful side--a testament to them being comfortable and not missing a beat. I am grateful for her care every time she comes to stay.

Olivia is wonderful! Very attentive, great at communicating and very loving and patient with our crazy crew of 3 pups. We have 2 puppies and an older dog and the puppies can be a handful. Olivia was great with the whole crew and we very much appreciated her professionalism and care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brighton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brighton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brighton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brighton. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
