About: Hello! I’m Katie! I have had about 7 years of experience in pet sitting, dog walking, and house sitting for animals of all species and ages! I have my own pets and have been surrounded by animals my whole life! I would love to extend my love to your fur baby! I do work about 28-32 hours a week at starbucks, but am usually off before 2. I get my schedule 3 weeks in advance, so I can make plans in advance. I am off monday, wednesday, and fridays! I do have some plans this summer, but I will do my best to fit your pet into my schedule! I have two older cats (11 and 10), one requiring medication daily so I have experience in administering medication. I also have 3 dogs (5 month old lab, 11 year old pitbull, and a 7 year old dachshund) So I am experienced in different age groups! I have also cared for birds, reptiles, and fish before :)
“Milo did an amazing job caring for my dog Juniper and cat Clara and taking care of my house while I was away for 3 days. He sent me pictures, videos, and updates and played with Juniper to make sure he had enough exercise. When I got back home, Juniper and Clara were very happy and the house looked great.”
“Michael made our pup with extreme separation anxiety feel comfortable. He obviously has a love of dogs and we are delighted to have found him. He was very punctual and communicated very well about arrival times and his availability. I would highly recommend him.”

“We’ve had several drop in visits and one overnight stay with Lyle. He took excellent care of our two dogs and cat - very good communication, met all of our expectations, and our pets are slowly getting used to him, helped by his experience in dealing with different pet personalities. Very highly recommend!”

“Renata is amazing with pets! She stayed at our home for two days to care for our dog Koa, our kitty Tiny, and our bunny. She did a great job, sent pictures and updates, and we enjoyed our trip knowing our fur babies were safe and cared for:) I highly recommend her. Thanks so much Renata🙏🥰”

“Autumn is amazing! She has done a great job with our senior husky (despite a few accidents that needed cleaning up). Our dog is on a couple of medications and she has managed that well. She has had excellent communication with us and she goes above and beyond taking care of our home!”
“Karla is super flexible and really nice. She stayed at my house to watch my cat and dog. She sent pics every day so I knew they were all happy and comfortable. The house was neat and tidy and the pets were great. I’m totally hiring Karla again!!”

“Karlysse helped us out last minute over the holidays and took amazing care of our two dogs. We came home to a spotless house and two very happy pups. We would absolutely hire her again!”

“Diandra was incredible! She was so communicative and so kind! She left our house in SPARKLING shape- I think it was cleaner when we got home than when we left! She swung with some annoyances too- our house lost power in 95 degree weather and I messed up our days off and asked literally the day before she was going to leave if she could spend an extra night. She was super easy going about both. I feel so lucky we found her and I will absolutely be booking with her again!”
“Abby was amazing with our animals! She stayed with them for 10 days while we were out of the country and in every picture she sent, all of our animals looked happy and relaxed and were snuggled up with her :) She also handled our large, anxious pit bull mix super well and he seemed very comfortable with her! She kept our home very clean. I would highly recommend her services and will definitely be reaching out to her for our future sitting needs. Thanks Abby!”

“Denise again did wonderfully with my pups! This is the second time she’s house/dog sat for me and sends lots of updates! Thank you Denise! We will see you again soon!”

About: Hello! My name is Maggie. I’m a 31 year old living in South Lyon, & a lover of all animals; the furry, the scaled, the smelly, the shy, the rambunctious, & every animal in between. I’ve had a dog in my home since I was born. My specialty is rabbits! Rabbits are such unique creatures, & I know how to give them the care & gentle love they need. I’ve had 5 cats, 4 dogs, & 1 rabbit in my lifetime, & now, due to my living situation, I am unable to have my own furry pal. I am hoping to get my fix of animal love through this service, while also helping those who need a little help with their busy work schedule or holiday travel plans. I promise to give your pets the same love I would give my own! If you have any questions or concerns feel free to send me a message. Thanks! As a stay at home mom, my schedule is flexible. My toddler would accompany me to drop ins, but he has strict boundaries with animals. If your pet loves kids - great! My kiddo loves animals! If your pet is hesitant to kids, no worries - my son knows he isn’t allowed to go near animals without permission. If you aren’t comfortable with my son being around, I am available Wed-Fri for solo pet care! My husband is home those days! I understand that all pets have different boundaries & quirks. If you have an escape artist cat living in your home, I will be sure to take extra care opening the doors. If your puppy is working on training, I am happy to help continue to with positive reinforcements. Upon meeting, will can go over all your pets’ needs… and their quirks! There will be no shortage of cuddles & playtime for those pets who need extra attention. And pets who take a little longer to build trust will soon find themselves a new friend to find comfort in!
“The best pet and house sitter we have ever had, hands down! It was so nice relaxing on this recent family trip knowing our home and furry family members were in such good hands. Absolutely recommend!”

“Tara was great watching our 6 month old kittens. They are very shy with new people. She was patient and gained their trust, she really went the extra mile! Highly recommend! Thank you Tara!”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s cared for dogs of all sizes—from tiny cuddle bugs to big, goofy giants 🐶❤️. I’ve helped friends and family with everything from daily walks to multi‑pet households, and I’m completely comfortable giving each pup the attention they need. Cats have been part of my life for as long as I can remember 🐱✨. Growing up with them taught me to understand their unique personalities, moods, and boundaries. Whether your cat is playful, shy, independent, or extra snuggly, I know how to make them feel safe, respected, and loved. Your pets will be treated like family while you’re away—lots of care, patience, and affection included 💛 I work from home full time so if the need is to watch a pet for a few hours, a whole day or a whole week I am very flexible and can do my full time job from anywhere with internet. I unfortunately cannot care for pets in my home as my family has allergies but I am happy to care for them over at your house, make sure they feel comfortable, loved and make sure they aren’t alone for long periods of time.
“Judy provided great communication the entire trip and ensured my dog got the correct medications. She left the house clean and it gave me peace of mind knowing Judy was at home with my dog.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brighton
Melanie was awesome!!! We highly recommend her for your fur babies! She was very professional, kind, considerate and responsible. She took excellent care of our two large doodles and our home, as she stayed at our home 5days and 5nights. She arrived as agreed and fed them their raw diet, responsibly. She sat with them outside regularly and cuddled with them in the evening. We really appreciated her excellent communication and attention to detail. She sent us photos of our two pups with a quick text of how well they were doing, every morning and night. This gave us great comfort and peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our vacation even more, knowing they were well cared for. When we got home our home looked just as we left it. She was very clean and neat and cared of our home as well!

Michelle is an amazing dog sitter, but she is more than that! She pivoted at the last minute to care for an injured songbird that had flown into my house and was determined to stay! Her gracious and supportive care was extraordinary! The pictures of my 2 year old great dane boys show their goofy playful side--a testament to them being comfortable and not missing a beat. I am grateful for her care every time she comes to stay.

Olivia is wonderful! Very attentive, great at communicating and very loving and patient with our crazy crew of 3 pups. We have 2 puppies and an older dog and the puppies can be a handful. Olivia was great with the whole crew and we very much appreciated her professionalism and care.

Ashley was amazing! She was so accommodating with our last-minute overnight booking and even better with our puppy. She’s professional, kind, and it’s clear how much she truly loves what she does. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in her care, and we would gladly have Ashley stay with our dog again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Brighton on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,956 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brighton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brighton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brighton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brighton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brighton. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
