This Human can out walk your dog!Howell, MI

Hi! I Love animals & long walks.Furry hugs and stinky breath. Waking up to a wet nose right next to your face. These are a few of my favorite things!

We have a dog and cat who get to travel with us but when thats not possible we have to leave our best buddies with people we know and trust. When putting your dog in someone's hands it's good to know that they understand. I can text you pics and updates so you know your pet is having a great time.

I love hiking so this is my ideal job. My dog is getting older and he only likes short walks these days so I would be more than happy to streaky him your dogs legs. I know how hard it can be for animals to be in the house all day and how much happier they are once they get moving!

I have a big pet friendly house! I have dog sat for many friends in the past and always loved having additions to our furry family. I also understand that it can be important for you to have someone stay in your house with your animal and I'm open to that as well. Just let me know how I can make your life easier and less stressful while you are away.

Pet Loving in MichiganWhitmore Lake, MI

Suzanne and I are retired and we love pets. We have had pets since childhood and are very experienced with dogs and cats. We have taken care of our neighbors' pets for many years. Since we are both retired, we are able to care for and be with our doggy guests around the clock. There is a nice park a short walk away with a beach and a dog park nearby that we use frequently for our furry friends.

We maintain a good supply of tennis balls, rubber balls, every type of play toy imaginable, frisbees, and of course, a well-stocked drawer of healthy, low calorie treats.

In addition, we have a great deal of practice training dogs and seem to gain their trust quickly and easily. We have a lot of experience caring for dogs needing regular injections and ones who have other medical needs.

Suzanne and I have hosted some of the most wonderful four-legged guests and are thrilled to be able to do something that we love so much. We love the walks and thoroughly enjoy play time for the dogs that appreciate a good rousing game of fetch or tug of war.

Nature's OmniUnum Farm.Ann Arbor, MI

Although I have resided in RI, GA, FL, NJ, NYC and Namibia, I am a Michigander with roots in Ann Arbor since 1961, who is now ensconced 24/7 in development of 6.75 partially wooded acres of beyond organic gardens providing all-natural vegetables and fruits on a zoned agricultural parcel in Northfield Township (North of Ann Arbor, South of Whitmore Lake and East of Dexter) between Joy and Northfield Church Roads.

A 1930's era former hunting cabin upgraded recently to a bucolic three-bedroom single family home and modest barn/garage situated at the eastern front of this long rectangular property are the only structures currently shared with my Australian Shepherd and Orange Tabby (both male), but we have often entertained other dogs and cats with and without their owners present and for periods up to seven weeks at a time.

The borders of the front 3-acre clearing surrounding the house and barn are defined by a northern fence and a southern creek meandering back through the wooded area all the way past the western edge. Just outside the back door of the house is a 3/4-acre outdoor off-leash exercise area for our canine guests secured with 6 ft. fencing and equipped with fresh water "kiddy" pools replenished daily. There spontaneous chase, tag, and keep-away opportunities are plentiful and often favored over fetch and/or frisbee.

Although, in past seasons, we have raised poultry (including Muscovy ducks, various chicken breeds and African geese) only the foraging of wild birds (eg. redwing blackbirds, cowbirds, cardinals, bluebirds, swallows, chickadees, wrens, orioles, grackles, starlings, various woodpeckers, finches and sparrows, hummingbirds and seasonal cranes etc.) is encouraged here,....... at present. Raccoon, muskrat, possum, coyote, and fox sightings are occasional, but my vigilance and my dog's presence seem to have thwarted any unwelcome visits by such potential predators. Here deer stroll, frogs and toads hop, harmless snakes slither and turkey buzzards soar daily but hawks (mostly redtail) are infrequent visitors.

Camera-shy Magus, a terrific watchdog that barks ONLY when strangers arrive, NEVER is aggressive, and LOVES having both human and non-human company. Mr. Lickety, who owns both Magus and me, is the epitome of that old saw, "Whereas, dogs have owners, cats have staff."

In this natural setting, all neighbors respect everyone's appreciation of flora, fauna, privacy and peace. (For fresh-air seclusion, there is a completely enclosed +600 sq. ft. area just outside the back door between the barn/garage and the northern exposure of the house. There one can enjoy ample shade, slate/brick flooring, plenty of foliage and a small fish pond/waterfall. Many other similar oases and/or private "safe spots" are extant both indoors and out.)

Home away from homeHowell, MI

We have a handful of dogs all rescues that have been given another life. I love and enjoy training and retraining our furry kids, grooming, bathing them, and providing love that they have never experienced before! I have lots of time to give them as I work out of the home with TV time at night! :) It seems that all dogs get along with our bunch as I make sure the environment is calm and everyone is friendly. We. Have currently relocated to a new home on 5 acres. I have my own separate entrance on the lower level for a separate dog area. I also spend most of my days taking them around the trails from miles and they are completely worn out at the end of the day! I s have currently relocated to a new home on 5 acres. I have my own separate entrance on the lower level for a separate doggy area. I also spend most of my days taking them around the trails for miles and they are completely worn out at the end of the day! I will still take dogs during the month of June but my new area will be finished in one month from now! I have watched & babysat dogs and other animals for over 17 years and train in my own home. I have had a lot of experience administering medicine for our little dog that was sick for quite some time. Our current dogs are up to date on shots, get Natural Balance food and treats, have luxury beds & blankets, their own dog den palace and get all of my attention! I will provide pick up and drop off as needed and also send you an update text/photo daily through Rover and/or cell if you request. I also have experience in administering medicines and other care as needed. If you have questions please call or email me and you are more than welcome to visit our home prior to sitting to see where your furry "kid" will be staying!

Why I love dog sitting

My love for dogs started at 3 years old when my parents decided that 3 German Shepards would keep me company. Needless to say that was a bit much but in the dog world more is less! Since then I have have many different kinds of animals and now have dogs and a horse. All of our furry babies are rescues, a variety of breeds, and my husband and I enjoy the re-training process of helping these neglected dogs have a wonderful outlook on life again! I have had much experience with delivering puppies, administering medicines, healing extremely sick dogs, training afraid or untrained dogs, and communicating with them. I love every aspect of what they stand for and believe that even the most difficult dog can overcome their weaknesses to be the most amazing companion!

About my yard

We do have a backyard…unfenced... It's pretty large...5 acres!!!!!I do have a fenced in area as well! Enough for the dogs to play and run around during rain or snow. In the winter though, I don't let the dogs stay out long at all due to the snow/ice/salt/that can get in their fur and paws. Unless of course they love the snow!

My experience administering medication

Absolutely…I have done it many times.

Grad Student who LOVES dogs!South Lyon, MI

If you need someone experienced, responsible and trustworthy to stay in your home while your away, please consider me.

I am a 30 something Registered Nurse currently working part time and in graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I started on Rover.com in 2013 as a pet sitter, but my husband and I moved last year and can no longer host dogs at our home, but am happy to travel to yours!

I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life and love them with every ounce of my being. I promise to take care of your dog(s) and or cat(s) as if they were my own. I am a homeowner myself and am very tidy, so I am able to take care of and maintain your home while your away (getting mail, watering gardens/plants, cleaning, etc.)

I work 30+ hours a week but would not be gone more than 9 hours at a time, I do not work weekends (except for an occasional Saturday morning) and holidays. My time away from work would be spent playing with and petting your animals, and I love study sessions curled up with dogs and cats :).

Please consider me as a house sitter, you will not be disappointed! If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me and ask, I am quick to respond!

Nurse that can provide 24/7 careFenton, MI

I am a nurse who does telehealth from home. Due to this, I am home all day to care for your pet. Kaiser, my dog is healthier and better behaved now that I am home every day. In the past I have cared for many pets, some with special needs. One dog was blind and required insulin shots before meals. My back yard is fenced, almost an acre for dogs to run and play. I have a cat, but she has her own room and a cat door that only she can fit through so she can hide if she needs to. Kaiser has free rein in my house, no restrictions. So, your pet can be free to do as he/she pleases and have fun.

Update: Kaiser passed away in December.

Stay-at-home-mom loves animalswixom, MI

*Please note- I bring my young son and infant daughter along for most bookings, so if you have any worries about how your pet will react to children, please let me know*

I am a single stay-at-home-mother and part-time college student with a four year old son and a daughter born this past December. My son and I love dogs (the baby is just happy to be along for the ride), and we love taking long walks, and lucky for us there is a job that covers both! We are having a great time getting to know different dogs and bonding with them like they were our own. I was fortunate enough to love and care for a special needs dog for 13 years and miss my time with him. I understand the importance of not leaving your pets alone all day long and look forward to providing some lucky dog with all the cuddles, play time, exercise, and gentle discipline they require while enriching the lives of my son and I. I would love to get to know your doggy friend and look forward to learning about their particular needs and how I can help them. It's almost like you are doing me a favor!
