“Bo seemed very at ease at Audrey's house. I appreciated the daily updates on him too! Thank you so much - will rebook if you're available the next time”

“Lisa is a true animal lover. She agreed to a pre visit with my younger Shih Tzu to see how he would do with her dogs and cats. We were going to be away for a week so I needed to know it would work before I left for that long. She took great care of them while we were on vacation. They came home very content and relaxed, no anxiety or exhaustion. She sent me pictures and updates everyday on how they were doing. We will definitely use Lisa again. Thank you Lisa!!”

“Great peace of mind leaving my two dogs with Samantha when a family emergency mandated I leave town suddenly. She was quick to respond and and very flexible with pick-up days/times, which I really appreciated. When I picked my pups up, they were happy and calm from all the playtime they got in Samantha's large, shady backyard. Will definitely book again with Samantha in the future!”

“When we traveled out of the country for a month, we left our lovely cat Joey Bananas in a boarding place. We felt he deserve so much better and that's when we found Laura a few days later. She was so understanding and helpful. She picked up our cat from boarding and took him to her home where he got all the love and attention he needed. We're so grateful for her and her beautiful son, for all the cuddling and playing they did with Joey. She sent us many updates and pictures. We felt at ease knowing he was in good hands! Will be using her service for our next vacation! I'd absolutely recommend her to anyone that is looking for great loving care for their pets.”

“Breanna was so wonderful watching my pup, Kira, for the weekend! They went on walks, met other dog friends, and got doggy ice cream. She was thorough about asking if Kira had allergies and how she reacted to other dogs beforehand, which was much appreciated! I will absolutely go with Breanna again next time Kira needs to be watched over a weekend!”

“Adrienne took our dog for a really nice hike. She is a high energy dog and really needed this. When we picked her up we knew she had been spoiled and loved on.”

“This was our first experience with Rover and we could not have dreamed of a better experience! Sara was so sweet and knowledgeable, and sent lots of wonderful photos. The next time we will absolutely go to her first!!”

“Augusta is so kind and I appreciate her taking great care of my baby boy. She communicates well and sends picture updates which are much appreciated. My Russy feels comfortable at her home and I’m grateful for Augusta’s hospitality. 😊”

“Bruce had a great time with Gemma and Gizmo! We received regular updates and adorable photos. He loved playing with all the toys and of course snuggling! We will definitely be back - thanks Gemma!”

About: I have cared for my own animals my whole life and have just recently said goodbye to my dog of 15 years. Though my family is not ready quite yet for another member, we miss having a dog in the house and would love to help care for yours! I love all animals, but have always had a special place in my heart for dogs. I work full time, but am fortunate enough to have the flexibility to work from home when needed so your furry pals will not go long stretches without love and attention! Our yard is partially fenced, however we have a lead for dogs outside, as well as the equipment and precautions to keep your pets safe if needed like crates, gates, etc. Our two cats are very friendly and good with dogs. They do spend most of their time on the second floor, so your pet would have free rein of our first floor!
“Valerie is top notch! She truly loves my dog Hershey and he is so happy with her. Hershey has medical needs and she follows my instructions exactly. Several walks per day, trips to the pet store and beyond. Trail hiking, lots of snuggles. I couldn’t find a better sitter! My weekly dog sitter!”
“For years I’ve struggled with not having a support system in place to feel at ease when going on vacation with my dog. I may not have a close family to do so but I do have Kasey and Alyssa. These two watched my bulldog Frank and did an amazing job. Cared about all my concerns and over protective dog dad issues. I went to pick Frank up after almost a week away and he loved it so much it was like they were his new family. I have some work to do now to win my dog back over lolol. That says a lot about the care and attention they provided Frank who is part of my family. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. You girls are the best !!!!”

“Michael was very accommodating and easy to work with, and he clearly understands dogs' temperaments and needs. His kind and gentle, yet firm, manner was very reassuring for my seven year-old rescue dog, Jack, who still struggles with meeting men. Jack was immediately at ease with Michael at our initial visit, and was excited to visit again. He came home happy, healthy, and relaxed after his 5-day stay in Michael's home, and we'll be sure to ask about staying with him again if we have to travel without our dog. Thank you, Michael.”

“Sydney is sound asleep on the couch. He gets so excited to see Michelle. This was his first overnight stay. We are looking forward to booking more overnight doggy days and overnight stays. Thank you for taking great care of our Sydney.”

“Emily is fantastic and attentive! She kept sending update with photos. She took good care of my dog and bring him for a walk too. Also, her dog, Macduff was so nice. They can get along very well. I like that her house has a fenced backyard, so dogs can go out as well. Her house also has a gate that can be used when they need a private space/or a timeout. I highly recommend her. Thanks, Emily!”

“We've used Gary twice now and HIGHLY recommend booking with him!! Our pup loves going to his house and playing with his dogs. Always prompt on responses, has plenty of yard space for the dogs, and very caring! Checks in and sends pictures while you're away which is nice :)”

“Tri thankfully accepted my last-minute request to watch my dog for the weekend. I have a very anxious dog, but Tri was able to keep her calm and give her all of the affection she desired. Tri sent many pictures and updates so I was able to enjoy my weekend away knowing that my dog was in great hands!”

Elaine was great with my anxious senior dog. She communicated with me each day and sent pictures. She kept me informed of how my dog was doing and any issues that she was experience. She made her feel comfortable and even checked in on her after she was back home. We will return!

Hello Rachelle and Anthony, Our puppy Prince absolutely loved his sitter. From the videos, we could clearly see he was safe, happy, and well cared for. Receiving that first video meant so much to us and I was really worried about his anxiety since my husband and I never left him alone for more than five hours due to work. We truly appreciate the care and attention you gave our Prince. Thank you so much, and we hope you’ll be available the next time we need a sitter.

Luna loved staying with Kate and her husband. From the moment we dropped Luna off, it was clear how much Kate genuinely cared about animals. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Luna was well cared for and loved!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
