About: I currently work at a dog rescue. I volunteered as a dog washer at the humane society for a year. I pet sat relatives dogs in their home. I know how to respect dogs boundaries. Right now my schedule is somewhat flexible. I am available weekdays and weekends. I am unavailable on Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 4pm to 730pm. I am respectful of everyone’s home and treat it how I’d want a pet sitter to treat my own. I know the signs to take it slow with dogs and cats.
“Tricia is wonderful with my older black Labrador, Zack. I know he is well taken care of. I appreciate the details about his visit with Tricia too and I feel well informed about how he is doing. Tricia has been helpful working with me on scheduling too. Zack is doing great when I get home and I am happy to not have to worry. I know he is enjoying his time with Tricia.”
“Francisco is an outstanding dog walker! He consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our dog is well cared for. After every walk, he communicates with me and provides thoughtful updates about how everything went, including anything he noticed that I should be aware of. What really stood out to me was his attention to detail and genuine care. During our last walk, it started raining, and he reached out to ask where he could find a towel so he could dry our dog off before leaving. That level of thoughtfulness meant a lot to me and showed how much he truly cares about the pets he looks after. I highly recommend Francisco to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog walker. Your pet will be in great hands!”

“Elise has been walking my dog for several months now, and I couldn’t recommend her more. She is great with Remy and does such a phenomenal job at communicating! I always feel comfortable knowing she’s with him.”

About: I am a dog lover looking for extra income. I live by myself with my dog. He is a service dog and we do everything together. I grew up with 2 rotties and a boxer so i am very comfortable with larger dog breeds. We hike every single day about 5 miles a day, so we do lead very active lifestyle. If your pet needs senior care, we will adjust. I work for myself, so I make my own schedule and have time to care for your dog as well. I work for myself so I make my own hours. I usually work about 4 hours a day Tuesday to Friday. I am off Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Safety is my #1 priority whether its your dog or mine. I take away toys and bulky sticks if I leave the house so they dont choke on things by accident. I have a crate in case I dog sit a nervous dog so it can relax and get much needed rest in between walks. I am also big into training and reading dogs body language to avoid conflict. If the dog we are sitting is nervous around other dogs, then I make sure we skip socializing with other dogs and focus on training to help build confidence

About: I’ve had experience with both dogs and cats since I was a toddler! My family has always had Sheltie dogs, and I have always had cats of my own! I have experience as a foster parent to cats and kittens of all sizes. My cat Tater Tot is a foster fail! I also have experience dog and cat sitting for friends over the years, including in home care, dog walking, senior dog care, and puppy care as I raised my own dog, Honey, from just a few months old! I am currently in the midst of starting my own pastry business, so I am extremely flexible as I work through the paperwork and business planning! I am completely flexible in my schedule, and am available any day of the week any time as my work is a currently remote and flexible! I currently do not offer care in my home, but I am very comfortable doing pet care in clients homes. My most recent dog-sitting client had three dogs of various ages and temperaments, and I was comfortable entering the home, walking and spending time with them, feeding and giving the elderly dog medication, then crating the two others! As a pet parent, I know how important it is to spend quality time and play time with pets while they are missing their family!
About: Dogs have been part of my life since childhood, when my Sheltie, Brownie, became my best friend from middle school all the way through college and beyond. That bond taught me just how much pets mean to a family, and I’ve carried that with me ever since, pet sitting for friends’ animals over the years and always looking forward to meeting a new dog. I bring the same warmth, patience, and care I’d want for Brownie to every pet I look after, so you can feel confident your best friend is in good hands. I’m currently working part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend quality time with your pets throughout the day. I’m happy to schedule walks during regular daytime hours, and I also offer in-home dog sitting so your pets can stay comfortable and relaxed in their own familiar environment while you’re away. For walks, I make sure to check in on arrival so your pet feels comfortable with me before we head out, and I always pay close attention to pace, water breaks, and weather so the walk suits their energy level and needs. For in-home dog sitting at your place, I focus on keeping their routine as normal as possible, sticking to their usual feeding times, walk schedule, and any specific instructions you leave me. I like to spend extra time playing and cuddling so pets feel relaxed rather than anxious about being away from you, and I always do a walkthrough of the space to know where food, leashes, and any medications are kept before you leave. Throughout any visit, I send photo and text updates so you can see how your pet is doing, and I treat their home and belongings with the same care and respect I would want for my own.

About: I may not have a dog at home right now, but I’ve been the go-to person in my friend group whenever someone needs a sitter or walker they can actually trust. Dogs have always gravitated toward me — probably because I treat every pup like my own. I grew up with a family dog who I loved deeply, and losing her a few years ago only deepened my appreciation for how much these animals mean to us. Taking care of your dog isn’t just a job to me — it’s genuinely one of my favorite things to do. Expect lots of walks, playtime, cuddles on demand, and photo updates so you never have to wonder how they’re doing. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give dogs the time, attention, and exercise they deserve, whether it’s a morning walk, midday check-in, or a full day of company. I treat every dog like family. I follow each pet parent’s routines and instructions closely, keep dogs leashed and secure at all times, and send regular updates and photos so you always know your pup is happy and safe. Your dog’s comfort and wellbeing is always my top priority.
About: Hi there! I’ve taken care of many different pets of all backgrounds and varieties over my lifetime. Most were family owned, while others I’ve sat for neighbors, friends, and family members. I’ve also volunteered at 2 humane societies. As a 24 year post-graduate student, I’m looking to spend any free time taking care of pets while I search for work. I love animals - no surprise there - and I wish to help out anyone who’s in need of it. I own a Maine Coon cat myself. I am a post-graduate student and could use any extra support while I look for work, so what better way than to do it than to do pet sitting! I’m available most days of every week and can work holidays. I’m flexible and love all pets of all shapes and sizes :) We have proofing of our house and make sure our animals don’t get hurt. I would love to keep in contact throughout the day if an owner desires and make sure I can give the best of the best care by taking into account an animals preferences.

I prefer to stop by during daylight hours but can flex as needed for each job! Thank you for considering me. In your home I will spend quality time with your pet. About: Giving reliable and trustworthy care for your sweet pup, because I would want the same for my seven year old Sheppard/Lab mix and best friend. My fiancé and I are new to New Haven, moving from NC. My availability is mostly open, meaning I am free to walk your dog or let them out when they would normally go to the bathroom. I will care for your fur baby in your home or mine. The distance of walks will depend on your dogs ability/preferences. Safety is a big priority for me and I would love to meet you and your pet over video chat before booking.

There really are no words to describe Elisabeth's commitment to serving her clients. She goes above and beyond every single time. I am house ridden with a broken femur and she stepped in to help me out this week even though her schedule was already full. I could not have made it through this week without her-she deserves more than five stars!
Roksolana is a wonderful dog walker. Our two dogs loved her right away. She is kind and caring to the dogs and a very pleasant person. They are very strong and pull yet she has managed to walk them both at the same time. I will definitely use Roksolana again and very highly recommend her.

Chelsea was absolutely wonderful with my dog! She was dependable, trustworthy, and extremely communicative throughout the entire time she worked with us, which gave me great peace of mind. My dog clearly adored her — he was always so happy and excited to see her arrive, which says everything. Chelsea gave him excellent walks and took such good care of him. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and treats them with kindness and attention. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
