“Cali was an excellent sitter for our beloved dog Maya. She was easy to communicate with including when we ended our trip early and picked our dog up earlier than expected. She clearly cares about dogs and our dog came home happy and tired so I know she had a great time. She sent great pictures and we would definitely trust her to care for our dog in the future. I highly recommend her services for anyone looking for a caring and friendly sitter.”

“Couldn’t have asked for a better Sitter for Habibi while I was doing business nearby. Emma is a true professional who deeply cares for dogs. She also has a gorgeous big yard that just screams out for having a dog running around in it. Not a big fan of business piece, but I look forward to the next opportunity to have Habibi stay with Emma.”

“I love taking my dog to her. My dog knows exactly who she is. She loves her and she takes very good care of my dog. I’ve never had a problem. I will continue to keep going back to her as long as she accepts my dog and she takes very good care of my dog. Thank you again”

“Thanks to Whitney and her family for making certain that my dog was safe, care for and loved. I highly recommend her as she is most reliable and trustworthy. Her daily communications and PICTs were very much assuring and appreciated.”

“Steph took great care of Jill and kept us in the loop on the great time she was having with her two dogs. Jill was very happy and very tuckered out from a great couple days of playing when we picked her up.”

“Pearl and Lanny took great care of our dog for us while we were away. They treated him like he was one of their own, which put our minds totally at ease. Pearl was very attentive to every tidbit of information that we shared with her about our dog's routine, preferences, and quirks, showing how very conscientious she is when she accepts someone else's pet in her care. She graciously arranged for a meet-and-greet before our first booking to confirm that things would work out well, which they did. We received notes from Pearl while we were away, giving us even greater assurance that all was well. Based on an exceptional initial experience, we will be repeat customers. We are very grateful to have some who will care just as well for our four-legged family member as we would during those times when we need or prefer to leave him temporarily. Thank you, Pearl (and Lanny), for being there for us!”

“i had a really good vibe from erin when we talked on phone; I was right she was wonderful, she communicated w/me during the week sending me videos of Betty playin etc She seemed so knowledgeable about cats and training them; she was very reassuring a couple times when i got sad for leaving her. When betty got home i axpected that she may act out by going places not allowed etc. but betty was fine no bad behaviors it was like she nevr left!!! I do believe that is called success and erin reported that there were no issues and that she would sit again if & when needed.”

“This was our first time using Rover and we were looking to find someone to watch Luna in less than a week. We are SO happy we booked with Theresa to take care of our pup. She is knowledgeable, careful, and friendly. She kept us updated throughout the day and kept us at ease throughout the entire process. The drop off/pick up process was seamless and Theresa was understanding of Luna’s many “quirks”. Luna had a great time and we would book Theresa again. We definitely recommend her services!”

“Deanna is such a great dog sitter! She and her lovely family took such great care of Romee. Romee had walks, plenty of playtime—just a perfect situation. Knowing Deanna was taking care of Romee allowed me to truly relax and not worry a bit while I was out of town. I’ll be rebooking with Deanna! Absolutely recommend.”
“Samantha was wonderful! She sent me pictures throughout Rory’s stay and was wonderful at communicating. I could tell our pup had a great time because she’s normally very energetic and it is sleeping soundly on our bed. 10/10 recommend and would definitely book her again!”

“Steven did an excellent job taking care of our senior pup! I didn't worry about her for a minute. I got updates with pictures and she was very happy. He was also very flexible with our pick up time when we got stuck on the highway for hours after an accident.”

“Rey was so great!! He sent me so many photos of my girl and she looked like she was having the time of her life! Unfortunately, I had some flight issues in my way home and Rey was so beyond accommodating. Will definitely be booking him again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bel Air
Allison was AMAZING!!! There is no other words for the care that was given to our Lil family member, Mirabel, that stayed with her. As this was the first time using "Rover" I was kinda hesitant but after meeting with her all my questions were answered and I felt content to leave Mirabel with her. Just the greatest!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
