“I highly recommend Theresa to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter. She kept me updated on my baby boy Gio throughout his stay, and it was clear that she genuinely loves what she does. Gio had an amazing time with her, going on plenty of adventures and getting all the attention he needed. This was my first time using Rover, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. I am beyond grateful for the care she provided. Thank you, Theresa. I will be back :) GIO LOVES YOU ❤️”

“We have used Katie for both daycare and boarding multiple times over the past year and never worry in the slightest when our puppy Dexter stays with her and Willow. Katie is always quick to answer any questions we have as well as provides us with pictures and video updates throughout Dexters stays. Would recommend her to anyone!!!”

“Danielle helped give me peace of mind during my trip. I haven’t been able to take a vacation in a long time due to not having anyone to watch over my old guy to make sure he stays safe. She provided updates and gave him love as I would. 100% recommend.”

“Thomas and his sons took great care of Tucker while I was away. He responded quickly every time I reached out and Tucker seemed right at home when I picked him up at the end of his stay!”

“Steph is absolutely AMAZING! First off it was short notice maybe 4 hours before I had to leave and everyone kept turning me down until this wonderful woman was kind enough to take her in . My baby had a blast with her and Jax. She sent me pictures and you could see the happiness in my baby’s eyes . Anytime I go out of town Valkyrie will be hanging out with her new bestfriend Jax . Definitely 10 out 10”

“I highly recommend Megan! She visited my house to meet my dogs before taking them for a week. I have two Frenchies who you might consider to be "extra," lol. She took great care of them and even kept them an extra night at my last-minute request. Thanks so much Megan!”

“Chrissy is a great choice when looking for someone to care for your pet. She is communicative and keeps you informed with how your pet is doing. She is super kind, friendly, and clearly loves animals. Your pet will NOT be lonely!”

“Molly was great with my Kash,This was his first time with her and she was amazing with him caring playful and loving. Will definitely use her again. Thanks again Molly .”

“Connie is amazing! My bunny and dog are both rescues, and my dog is very skiddish with new people. It takes her time to establish trust. She took to Connie immediately! Connie has gone above and beyond with her care. She even helped troubleshoot an a/c problem while I was gone. When I come home, my babies are so content and happy that I think Connie is their vacation! I highly recommend her services.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my combination of reliability, patience, and genuine dedication to each animal’s well-being. I don’t just watch petsI take the time to understand their individual personalities, routines, and needs so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to care for pets with a flexible schedule. I willing to adjust to meet the cat’s needs. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every pet. I follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and plenty of attention. In a client’s home, I respect their space and make sure their pet feels comfortable and cared for while they’re away. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pet is doing well.

About: Hello, I’ve been boarding and walking dogs for a while now. I love my job. I’m also open to drop ins and short time sittings. I use to have a dog myself for over a year. I’m home full time and can walk/feed/take your dog to potty at any time. I’m open to long boardings and short time sittings, and all walks and drop ins. Plenty of time to play with your pet. I make sure there’s nothing on the floor or in the dog’s reach that can harm them and if there’s a crate, will usually put them there if I’m not going to be around.

About: I’ve lived with cats, dogs, and other pets my entire life and have been pet-sitting for neighbors and friends since I was a kid. Huge animal lover and ready to take care of your pet like it’s my own. My work schedule is much less busy over the summer so I have plenty of time to take care of your fur baby while you’re busy or on vacation! I’m happy to take care of your pets in your home where they are most comfortable. At my home, I have a 3 year old husky to keep your dog company and entertained in our fenced yard. We also have a senior cat in the home.

Alexis did an amazing job taking care of Joey! She was incredibly gracious and attentive throughout the entire stay, and I really appreciated the pictures and updates she provided. It was reassuring to see Joey happy, comfortable, and well cared for while I was away. Alexis was dependable, communicative, and clearly genuinely cared about Joey’s well-being. I would definitely consider using Alexis again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter!

Chris and Kelly were great when our pup was having some bad allergy rides and kept us updated. There dog Gigi was a good friend to Gunner. I felt Chris and Kelly were both super responsive to messages and calls during our time away. We would absolutely use them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
