“It was a such pleasure and relief leaving my dog with Rachel. She provided daily updates with pictures and videos and seems to just enjoy taking care of our fury babies. She was very accommodating. At the last minute I needed my Ivy to stay an extra night and she was more than willing to say yes. My Ivy will definitely be back!!! 🤗”

“Shannon was wonderful! She provided frequent updates and sent pictures/videos of our dogs. The care was fantastic. She treated our Goldens as though they were her own fur babies. :)”

About: Love many different types of animals and have pet sat for many people in my family over the years. From my experience every dog has liked me. I have minimal knowledge in training dogs. And can adapt my environment to fit the personality of the dog. Im currently in college, so Mondays-Thursdays are busy for me but I am almost always available Friday-Sundays. On the warmer days I like to go for a walk around the neighborhood and back. I have a fare sized fenced yard. A 8-year-old yorkie, he is very sweet and friendly with other dogs, not much of a barker. Two other reptiles locked in their tanks, the will never be a concern with them they are very small.
“Whitney and her family were absolutely amazing! Her fenced in yard provided plenty of space for the dogs to play. My dog, Finn, received so much love and snuggles! Finn will definitely be back. Thank you, Whitney!”
“Danielle has done a wonderful job of caring for my dog, Hazel. She was very flexible with my schedule changing last minute, and that made things much easier for me. And the most important part - my very anxious dog came back to me happy and relaxed, not at all stressed from her time away. I'd definitely recommend Danielle and will book with her again.”

“Seunghee was wonderful to work with! She sent me several updates every day, both pictures and videos. She also made Tucker a special meal, after checking with me first of course. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay!!”

“Allison D was a great care giver for our Cricket. She played with, cuddled and entertained her and told us Cricket was well behaved and welcome to return if we needed care provided again in the future.”

“Molly was fantastic! She was patient and welcoming despite my dog’s high energy level and kept me updated throughout the stay with great pictures and regular communication. She was very knowledgeable, well-prepared, and even taught us a few new things. It was clear that she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog in her care. I highly recommend her and would happily book with her again!”

“Ms. Pearl is a very kind and caring person, who took excellent care of my little dog. It was evident that she had genuine concern for his overall wellbeing. Chewie had so much fun, he didn't want to leave her. ;-) Chewie has had some health issues over the past three months, and we were very concerned about leaving him. Pearl kept us posted on his progress and he had no issues while in her care. She has a clean, safe and calm environment, which was perfect for my dog. We hope we can use her services again. Thank you, Ms. Pearl!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 10 years old!! I love all animals honestly. I’ve walked dogs, cleaned litter boxes. I’ve also bathed pets. Also cuddles are a must! Also play time is important! I would love to pet sit anytime! Pet care would be during the week in the evenings. The weekends I’m free to anything! I can do overnight stays on the weekends, I can walk, feed, and bathe pets. Depending on which service I’m doing, I do have a yard which your dog can play in. I also can bathe pets and feed them, and if you have a cat I can clean litter boxes and play and brush them!
“She had done greet with our dog lili she is about a year and six months old no issues at all very knowledgeable of dogs in their situations as well as understanding their behavior with no issues she took care of my dog and my dog played with her dog so now my dog has a friend they went to the park together and everything and she bought my dog back, clean safe and sound no issues Thank you very much once again for watching her for the five days. It’s been great. We definitely use her again just for dog play dates. Also she’s amazing. Don’t hesitate.”

“This is the third time Angelene has watched our Maltese. She takes such good care of him! I get pictures everyday of all that she does with him, and he's happy be sure he eats. Maltese usually stop eating when they are nervous, so I know he was comfortable with her.”

“Leaving our Mr G with Theresa was an wonderful experience. She was informative, personable and we knew our buddy was well taken care. She is a wonderful care giver and I would recommend her dog sitter services for anyone looking.”

“Cali was great with Thor and Gus, and provided plenty of updates over their short stay with her. I could tell that they felt comfortable at her home and were well cared for. Looking forward to a potential longer stay in the future with Cali !”
“We loved Randi and her family!!! Her house and backyard were perfect for my golden retriever who is full of energy. He loved playing with Penny, Randi’s 4 years old dog. Randi was very responsive from day 1. She set up a meet and greet and we were able to see if our dogs were compatible. We booked with Randi for 7 nights. She sent photos and reassured me that my dog was doing well and was very comfortable. I felt that my 1 year old puppy was in great hands with her. We will definitely rebook!!!”

“She was my first Rover dog sitter since the person I usually go to couldn’t watch my dog and I will say I was a bit nervous to drop her off at first but Nathaly eased all my concerns. She consistently sent pictures of my dog Venus while I was away, let me know when they were going on walks, her eating patterns and if she peed or poo’d. Honestly, when she told me this was one of her first sits, I was pleasantly surprised by how well she handled it also while having her own dog, Broly (sick name), and managing the two of them. I had no complaints and anyone who choose Nathaly to watch their pet, just know you will get top-of-the-line service and consistent communication. Would book again!”

Sarah was great with our pup! She was available on short notice and helped us out of a jam when another sitter cancelled on us. She communicated with us frequently which made it easier for us while we were away. She treated our pup like her own. We will definitely use Sarah again in the future.
Our sitter canceled for us enroute to drop off as we were about to leave for a 7 day vacation. We scrambled to try to find someone, and Briana and Isaiah responded within minutes despite having their first free weekend in weeks and agreed to watch Archer for the whole week and saved our vacation plans. We are very grateful, Archer clearly had a ton of fun, and they will be the first we call next time!

Takiara did a great job of takkng care of Rocky whlile I was away. I felt immediately at ease with her upon meeting her and knew Rocky would be in great hands. Takiara took the time during our meet and greet to sit with Rocky to get to know him. I can tell Rocky was happy and well taken care of!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
