“Nathaniel was friendly, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile. Seems to have a great home with a fenced-in yard, and gave our pooch the attention she needed. We’ll be calling on Nathaniel again!”

“Rachel was really great! She was really warm and friendly and kept us up to date with photos and details about our 2 girls during their stay. Highly recommend! Will definitely book Rachel again.”

“Molly was able to step in on a last minute request for our Astro, and she was wonderful. She kept me updated with Astro’s daily activities. She is kind and Astro liked her very much. I will use Molly again for my pet sitter needs.”

“We were very pleased to have our dog stay with Whitney. We appreciated the updates which kept us assured our dog was doing well. We look forward to working with Whitney again!”

“Randi sent lots of PICTs and kept my up to date. Great fenced in back yard and a doggy door. I would highly recommend Randi and her family and will continue to use her. My dog was so happy and tired from playing when I picked him up. Great all around experience.”

“Elizabeth took great care of my dog. She gave lots of updates and was a pleasure to work with. My dog loves her and seemed so happy while she boarded with her.”

About: Love many different types of animals and have pet sat for many people in my family over the years. From my experience every dog has liked me. I have minimal knowledge in training dogs. And can adapt my environment to fit the personality of the dog. Im currently in college, so Mondays-Thursdays are busy for me but I am almost always available Friday-Sundays. On the warmer days I like to go for a walk around the neighborhood and back. I have a fare sized fenced yard. A 8-year-old yorkie, he is very sweet and friendly with other dogs, not much of a barker. Two other reptiles locked in their tanks, the will never be a concern with them they are very small.

“Pearl and Lannie were great. Communication was great before and during stay. This was the first time I had to board my dogs and I was having serious anxiety. They truly made me feel at ease and are definitely animal lovers. Highly recommend.”

“Another amazing stay with Danielle! This is the second time Coco has stayed with her for an extended visit, and once again, we couldn’t be happier. It truly feels like a doggy vacation paradise for her. We know she is so well cared for, and we’ll absolutely be back again.”

“Our dog Casey and my sister’s dog Mia had a nice time staying with Theresa. She is calm and loves dogs. Mia is shy and takes time to adapt but having Casey there really helped her build trust. We’ve never left our dogs either anyone other than family and it was comforting to know they both were in good care. Thank you!”

“this was my 2nd time leaving my little guy with angelene overnight. her and her family are great and took wonderful care of my pup. i had no worries on complaints. even with a short stay she sent multiple updates and great pictures! this is surely our forever sitter.”

“Seunghee was wonderful to work with! She sent me several updates every day, both pictures and videos. She also made Tucker a special meal, after checking with me first of course. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 10 years old!! I love all animals honestly. I’ve walked dogs, cleaned litter boxes. I’ve also bathed pets. Also cuddles are a must! Also play time is important! I would love to pet sit anytime! Pet care would be during the week in the evenings. The weekends I’m free to anything! I can do overnight stays on the weekends, I can walk, feed, and bathe pets. Depending on which service I’m doing, I do have a yard which your dog can play in. I also can bathe pets and feed them, and if you have a cat I can clean litter boxes and play and brush them!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Abingdon
This was my first time using Rover but now won’t be the last! Briana & Isaiah took great care of my pup for a weekend with overnight boarding. They asked questions and took notes of any special requests. She got plenty of play time and walks with the kids and other dogs, and I was sent some pictures and updates throughout the weekend.

Thank you Paris! Please book with Paris, she is an amazing communicator, and very patient! This was my very first time leaving my pup with anyone for days and I had extreme anxiety about it but Paris reassured me that everything would be ok and it was!!! She also sends a bunch of updates and pics daily which is a major plus! Thank you again I look forward to working with you in the near future. 🫶🏽

We had such a wonderful experience with our puppy sitter! She took amazing care of our two puppies while we were out of town and treated them like they were her own. She kept us updated, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such loving hands. When we picked them up, they were happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. She even mentioned how sweet and cuddly they were, which made us smile! We are so grateful for the love and attention she gave Benji and Stormi. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to watch their pets. Thank you again for taking such great care of our babies!

Sarah was great with our pup! She was available on short notice and helped us out of a jam when another sitter cancelled on us. She communicated with us frequently which made it easier for us while we were away. She treated our pup like her own. We will definitely use Sarah again in the future.
Takiara did a great job of takkng care of Rocky whlile I was away. I felt immediately at ease with her upon meeting her and knew Rocky would be in great hands. Takiara took the time during our meet and greet to sit with Rocky to get to know him. I can tell Rocky was happy and well taken care of!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
