“Teresa was awesome with Royale, he seem so happy and playful. And he made friends which he usually stays away from other dogs.I was able to relax as Teresa kept me updated with pictures and messages of my baby. I randomly chose her on Rover and I m so happy with my choice...”

“Candice took great care of our Lily. Of course we were a bit nervous going away for a week and leaving Lily with someone new. Candice welcomed us to her beautiful home with a wonderful smile and assured us that Lily would be fine. After receiving our first picture and report the next day (and everyday thereafter) we knew we had selected the right place for our fur baby and had no worries after that. Lily seemed to be right at home. We highly recommend Candice and her family and will definitely be using her again.”

“Justin and Stephanie are absolutely amazing! We rebook with them every time we need to go out of town because we know our pup will be in great hands! They keep us updated with pics throughout the visit and we’re so flexible when our flight got delayed and we had to pickup our boy late at night! They’re truly the best, cannot recommend them enough!”

“Bambi was very nervous going in - she’s never stayed with a non-family member in her almost 13 years. Elena won her over (with treats of course). Thanks Elena for taking on the last minute booking!”

“Such a wonderful experience. Loved all the pictures and videos sent. My Sasha had such a wonderful time playing with all the pups and yard. Will plan for the next stay as my dog is so happy with her stay.”

“Molly was able to step in on a last minute request for our Astro, and she was wonderful. She kept me updated with Astro’s daily activities. She is kind and Astro liked her very much. I will use Molly again for my pet sitter needs.”

About: ***drop off and pick up times are between 9 am -2:30 pm or between 5 pm and 10 pm***** as I have zoom meetings in mornings and afternoons ; Rover will not let me put in specific times I do apologize****I have two fur babies of my own! They are spoiled rotten. Their names are Rainy and Stormy . I am well trained in giving oral medications as I had a fur baby that had congestive heart failure for 4 years whom also was a senior dog when he passed at 18 years old. I have taken care of other people’s dogs and cats. Where they are treated like my babies while here as well and get spoiled and lots of attention. I work from home and care for my grandmother so I will home with them at all times. I can administrate pills/medicine if needed. I am able to take the dogs out whenever it is needed. My babies are always by my side like shadows. I have a fenced in yard.My dogs love to play with friends dogs. The more the merrier!
“She had done greet with our dog lili she is about a year and six months old no issues at all very knowledgeable of dogs in their situations as well as understanding their behavior with no issues she took care of my dog and my dog played with her dog so now my dog has a friend they went to the park together and everything and she bought my dog back, clean safe and sound no issues Thank you very much once again for watching her for the five days. It’s been great. We definitely use her again just for dog play dates. Also she’s amazing. Don’t hesitate.”

“Deanna is such a great dog sitter! She and her lovely family took such great care of Romee. Romee had walks, plenty of playtime—just a perfect situation. Knowing Deanna was taking care of Romee allowed me to truly relax and not worry a bit while I was out of town. I’ll be rebooking with Deanna! Absolutely recommend.”
“First time using Rover, Sharon was great with our Doxie gave decent communication and pictures during our puppies one week stay After the week puppy was happy and showed she had been cared for during her stay. Would use Sharon again for future sitting.”

“My husband & I were ever so grateful to have our dog, Star, board with Rich. We had never been away from her for 2 weeks before and we hated the idea of leaving her in a cold, cinder-block kennel. Rich provided a warm, friendly home where we could trust that Star enjoyed her stay. We were happy to get updates and pictures of Star throughout our vacation. Even though these made us miss her all the more, we were happy to know she was being cared for with love. We will definitely contact Rich the next time we need to board Star.”

“Jen was amazing. She communicated throughout the booking with pictures and messages. It was obvious our pup was getting lots of love and attention during her stay. She came home happy and tired. We will be using Jen again!”

“Casey and Marwa are the BEST! They spoiled our large dog Indiana to no end with multiple long walks every day, playtime, cuddles, and even grooming. There was plenty of space to roam freely in the house. They posted many pictures and videos every day. Their Pug Kevin is so cute and friendly! Indy came home well fed, nicely groomed, happy, and relaxed.”

“Jessica did a wonderful job taking care of my fur baby! Maxwell doesn’t take to strangers in my presence so I was very nervous about leaving him for the weekend. Jessica assured me that he would be well taken care of, and he was! Jessica made sure to check in with me throughout the weekend and sent pics as well. Max returned happy and healthy! Thank you Jessica! I will definitely be contacting you again soon.”

“We are very happy to leave our dog Peaches with Alexandra. She and her family did a great job caring for our dog. We can go about with our travel plans knowing that Peaches is in a loving home environment. I would gladly recommend her for any pet owners looking for a pet sitter. Thank you Alexandra and family for your help with Peaches!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Aberdeen Proving Ground
Jessica is the best! We had her watch my pup for 4 days and 3 nights, and it was my dog’s first time sleeping over anywhere besides our home and first time staying with other dogs in the same house. When we first dropped her off at Jessica’s place, the first 10 minutes were a little nerve-wracking for us because we were worried she might change her mind about watching my pup. She made the entire transition process so easy and comforting. I was also nervous that my dog might feel scared around her pups, but her pups were incredibly gentle and welcoming. They kept trying to bond with my dog, and before long, my pup started opening up to them. By the end of the stay, her dogs and my dog were happily spending time together, playing and bonding like they had known each other for a long time. Jessica also keeps you updated with videos, pictures, and daily messages about your dog, which gave us so much comfort and peace of mind while we were away. It truly felt like our pup was safe, loved, and genuinely enjoying herself the entire time. I would absolutely trust Jessica again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring, patient, communicative, and experienced with dogs.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
