“Brodi was great! She stopped by for a meet and greet when we booked the visit and was on time and followed our directions and even brought in packages while we were out of town. We’ll definitely be checking Brodi’s availability the next time we need a drop-in or otherwise!”

“Theresa was great! The meet and greet went really smoothly, and really reassured me that I was leaving our cats in good hands. Theresa offered great help in checking in, feeding, and maintaining a clean environment for our cats while we were gone for a week. She was readily available to talk to and I'd happily request her again for future trips!”

About: I have been caring for dogs of all ages my entire life. I like to focus on making sure your dogs are comfortable when you are away. It can be a hard adjustment for both pet and owner to be separated, but I’m here to make everything easier! I’m currently working part time and am working on an online degree, so I will have a lot of time to spend with your pet! I have a large fenced in yard and a large home for the dogs to play and roam. Dogs are family in my house and are allowed on couches and beds. Water is always out in the open and access to the yard is freely given (unless otherwise specified). I try to play with the dogs and give each and every one special attention.
“We have 2 cane corsos. Josie is skiddish and apprehensive of new people. Kyle has gone out of his way to bond with Josie and be accepted into the pack. Kyle is professional and effectively communicates. Great job Kyle!”
“We have a German Sheppard, and we are precautions with new people meeting her but Elizabeth did amazing! Our dog immediately liked Elizabeth and started playing with her. Elizabeth also eased our mind by having experience with dominant breeds.”

About: Animals have been my life since before I could walk! I've cared for all sorts of animals in all life stages, and I've worked in pet retail, pet care, and more recently in beginner vet care! I do best with older dogs but I can handle puppies and seniors, and I can administer medications from pills to insulin injections! I have my own pets, so what's the harm in caring for a few more? Given proper advance notice, I will fit your furry friends into my schedule and make sure they get the best care possible! Going away and leaving your best friends behind can be scary and nerve-wracking! I prefer visiting your home when caring for your pets, as it's an environment your animal has already established as a safe place! As a fellow pet parent, I'm happy to say that I'm very much a helicopter pet-sitter. If I notice anything slightly off I will never hesitate to let you know! It's always better to be safe than sorry. I will use my experience in the pet care and vet field to make sure your loved one is safe and happy while you're away!
About: I’ve had cats my whole life. They have quite the personality and I’m experienced with indoor and outdoor cats. I respect schedules and cleanliness standards. I’ve taken care of friends and family’s animals on too many to count occasions. I work until 5 so I’m available in the evening and overnight. I will discuss routines and temperaments with you and do whatever you need me to do. I act as a friend while you’re away. I stick to feeding and walking schedules. I clean up behind your animal and myself. I speak with love we have fun.
About: I’ve been taking care of pets since I was 8. I’ve had guinea pigs, dogs, and a rabbit. My family currently has one rabbit, Thumper. He is the best! We also have three wonderful dogs…two English cream golden retrievers, Remi and Raven, and a spunky beagle named Snoopy! I was a teacher for 24 years and now I work in a school library. I’m trying to make some extra money on the side. I started doing some dog walking this summer and have truly enjoyed it! I love being outside and taking walks with the pups! I’m available after 4 p.m. and at night too, during the school year. On the weekends, my schedule is very flexible. Since I work for the school system, my schedule is much more open in the summer time, if you need any help! I can take your dog for a walk, so they can get some exercise. I can also stay and play with them! Happy to send pictures and updates too!
About: I am experienced in all types of pets from rabbits and snakes to large dogs and cows. From exotic to every day I've cared for a wide variety. I am currently work a nine to five weekdays so my schedule is open for afternoons and evenings week days and I am available any time weekends. I have experience in crate training, potty training, and leash training my own dogs and am very compassionate for dogs that might need extra care and attention.

“Pearl is a lifesaver! She helped us out when another sitter didn't show up to take care of our dogs. She sent us text messages and photos of our boys every day. This was my first time using a pet sitter and thanks to Pearl, the experience was great.”

About: I’ve been taking care of my two rescued dogs that me and my family rescued 12 years ago. I also have experience petting my friends dogs, cats, and chickens! I am currently unemployed and trying to make pocket money and save for travel so i will use all my time looking out for your fluffy children. I offer drop in visits and walks. I will personally make sure your pet is fed, played with, walked, loved, happy, and well cared for.
“Mason was a phenomenal pet sitter. She was able to fulfill my need for a pet sitter during a holiday weekend, given less than 2 weeks notice. Mason gave prompt reports on my cat and even fed my aquarium fish and watered my indoor plants. She was patient with my feisty indoor cat, responding mindfully to my cat’s communication cues demanding space. I highly recommend Mason! 5/5 stars”

“Ann made Darla‘s first visit with her very pleasant and comfortable. She’s the perfect person for our little Darla. We know she’s in good hands in Ann’s care.”

“Emily is great with communication, prompt on the days she visits, and follows all instructions to care for our pets (specific foods, prescriptions, etc.). We are so glad we have someone so reliable to take care of our animals while we are away!”

“Heidi was amazing with King!! She was very attentive, always on time, and was great with communicating and sending pictures of King. We will definitely be looking to use Heidi again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aberdeen Proving Ground. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
