“Alexandra and her family took amazing care of our sometimes nervous dog bella and sent her back to us as happy as we left her. As caring and competent a dog sitter as you'll find.”

“Peter loves going to Geosselyn's house! She sends the cutest pictures of him during his stay there. Peter loves exploring her large, fenced-in yard. Peter comes home well rested and calm. You can tell that Geosselyn loves caring for dogs. We will definitely book again with her!”

“Sharon was amazing!! Mabel absolutely loved her and her dogs and had a wonderful time. She updated me with pictures and was always quick to respond to my messages. Highly recommend!!”

“Very good experience! My first time utilizing a dog sitter for overnight. Booking was seem-less. Rachael was very attentive and invited us for a meet and greet before the scheduled stay. Throughout the stay Rachael texted pictures of my puppy and kept me posted on how he was adjusting. I highly recommend Rachael and will definitely be using her in the future.”
“Abby and her family were amazing! They took great care of my pup Maxx while I was away and sent plenty of videos and pictures of all the loving and play time he had. Maxx loves kids so he was spoiled rotten having friends to play with and keep him entertained. I will happily book with Abby again and recommend her to anyone.”

About: I have LOTS of experience handling and caring for dogs and cats (and birds). I am the person that everyone calls when they see an injured animals or lost pet roaming the streets. My love for all things furry (and hairless too) is beyond measurable. I am ready to house your loved one and make sure they are safe, warm and fed. Want a photo of your baby? No problem! Want a video of your baby? No problem! I can guarantee your furry friend will love staying over and visiting me/my family. I currently work from home so your pet will never be alone for long periods of time. I am available most days anytime after 10:00 am. If you are looking for a morning dog walk just let me know and I can try to make it work 🙂 I have a fenced in yard. I have two dogs of my own who can easily adapt to your baby with proper introduction :-). I have kids who have learned to respect all animals. You do not have to worry about kids hanging on your pet or pulling their tail. Animals respect is first and foremost in our household. I also have two birds. They are out most of the day but stay perched or hang out on my shoulder.
“OMG! Angela was amazing. You kept me informed with notes and pictures throughout my trip and most of all my baby was so relaxed when I picked him up. We will definitely being using her again.”

“Colleen Alissa and her husband provided Lemmy with excellent care while we were away. Arranged for a meet up with their pup, Bruce, before Lemmy’s stay. Definitely will continue to book with them for as long as they are on this app.”

“Bambi was very nervous going in - she’s never stayed with a non-family member in her almost 13 years. Elena won her over (with treats of course). Thanks Elena for taking on the last minute booking!”

“Good morning our dear Rover family. We'd like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for Theresa. Each expression of love every picture made our hearts smile knowing Cheanna was well taken care of. Theresa's service exceed our expectations. We are happy to say we will be using her caring help in the future 😀. Words cannot say how safe we feel using Rover. Thanks a 1000 times.”

“I have never before had a dog sitter as amazing as Jen! She was so incredibly attentive, thoughtful, communicative and so funny! She took incredible care of my pup - as if it was her own dog. I highly recommend Jen and plan to always use her services in the future! Huge fan.”

“As a first time Rover user, my wife and I were so happy to have found Whitney to take care of our 6 month old puppy while we were out of town for the night. She sent updates and pictures throughout the stay and was always available to answer any questions we had. We will definitely use Whitney again!!”

“I’m grateful that Lindsey accepted Cecelia in her home as her own, and for the gentle care that she provided. From the pictures Lindsey sent me and the texts on the daily basis (even multiple times a day), I could tell that Cecelia was feeling very comfortable, happy, and content that all her needs were being met. I highly recommend Lindsey, and would definitely ask her for the care of Cecelia again.”

Aaron and his family were amazing. They welcomed our 3 year old English Bulldog Rowan into their home and he was comfortable from the start. They took him for walks often, sent pictures of him daily, and put our minds at ease while we attended an out of town funeral. We will absolutely be booking with them in the future for our boarding needs.

Abby and her family were amazing! They took great care of my pup Maxx while I was away and sent plenty of videos and pictures of all the loving and play time he had. Maxx loves kids so he was spoiled rotten having friends to play with and keep him entertained. I will happily book with Abby again and recommend her to anyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
