“I have never felt so comfortable leaving my fur babies behind. Dakota made sure that they were well cared for and comfortable. She kept me updated and worked hard to make the transition as easy as possible. Highly recommend!”

“We can say enough how great it is to go away knowing your pets are going to be taken care of with probably more loving and attention that we give them. Confident that your home is taken care of and in order when you get home. Thanks Pamela, you're the best!”
“Kelly was an amazing sitter! She stayed at our house and gave our pups all the love and snuggles. She kept us updated with messages and cute pictures. It’s great to know our dogs were in good hands!”

“Sianna was amazing. Our dogs loved her! She was punctual, kind, and kept us updated through her stay. She cuddled the dogs through the thunderstorm and did a great job administering eye medication and keeping the dogs separate during feeding time. She followed the noted instructions perfectly and we will definitely continue to call her!”

“Lindsay did a great job watching my dogs in my house while we were traveling. She checked in dauly with updates of the dogs. Took my more active dog to her house while she worked for more enriched supervision and also kept my older dog happy and on routine. I look forward to working with her again when we travel.”

“Julia did a fantastic job watching our dog while we went out of town! She was very responsive and took great care of our dog and our home while we were away. We can be apprehensive about leaving our dog home, but Julia allowed us to rest easy and enjoy our vacation because of the care and attention she gave each day. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trusted professional to watch their pet, and she will be our go-to resource for our dog moving forward.”

“Damien is SUCH a fabulous human. The extraordinary care he gave towards my fur babies warmed my heart. He went out of his way to text me pictures and updates on how things were going. I absolutely plan on hiring him again! Thanks! Sarah”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats in home settings. I’ve watched dogs for multiple days, including both weekdays and weekends, handling feeding, walks, and maintaining their normal routine. Occasionally watched over more than one dog at a time. I also have experience with watching cats and ensuring they are taken care of multiple days at a time. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and respectful of both your home and your pet’s routine. Since I work full-time during the day, I’m best suited for pets that are comfortable being alone during work hours and thrive with consistent morning, evening, and overnight care. My goal is to keep your pets safe, relaxed, and on their normal routine while you’re away. I work full-time during the day, so I focus on providing reliable morning, evening, and overnight care. My mornings and evenings are structured and consistent, which allows me to stick closely to your pet’s normal routine for feeding, walks, and attention. On weekends, I have much more flexibility and can spend additional time with your pets while maintaining their schedule. I keep my calendar organized and only take on a limited number of clients to ensure each pet receives dependable, consistent care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping everything as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow all feeding schedules, walk routines, and care instructions carefully to help your pet feel comfortable and secure. I provide morning and evening care, along with overnight presence when booked for house sitting. I also make sure your home is respected and kept clean while you’re away. You can expect regular updates and photos so you know your pet is safe, relaxed, and well cared for.
“Katie is great! We used her to stay in our home after Christmas with our 4 year old boxer dog Maggie while we were traveling to see family. We definitely felt comfortable having her in our home. She followed all instructions that we left, and her communication was great. She sent us updates and pictures often, and was very attentive to Maggie, making sure to keep her schedule consistent, playing with her, and walking her each day! We also received some unexpected news while we were away which resulted in us having to come home early after only a few nights away. Katie was extremely flexible and accommodating, and even left a note for us when we got home with a few updates. She also cleaned and wiped down the areas of the house that she used, which is so appreciated in the current covid climate. You can definitely feel good about trusting her in your home with your pets!”

About: Hi! I’m Kaylee! I’m an animal lover who has more than plenty experience caring for dogs and other pets. I love bonding with animals through playtime, cuddles, and filling their bellies. It’s always my top priority to make sure they feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. Whether it’s dog sitting, drop-in visits, feeding, walks, or playtime, I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I’d give my own. I’m excited to provide dependable and loving care for your furry family members! I am the go-to pet sitter for my family and friends. Always reliable and available on short notice! i am free anytime of the week, and weekends, i have a lot of time for your fur babies and i can guarantee their safety, im very alert and conscientious of my surroundings. i have a fenced yard and a pool and lounging area out back of my yard, but i’d rather watch your fur babies at your home.
“5 stars!!! Peyton babysat and house sitted for our Irish Wolfhound puppy, our 2 old mini schnauzers and our cat. We will absolutely use her again. If you want someone to house sit and take excellent care of your babies, this is your lady. Thank you so much Peyton!!! -Owen and Jaimie-”

“We had never used a pet sitter service before so were very nervous. After meeting Ryan (& Thomas) our fears diminished. The overnight stay with our 6 furry babies & fish-tank in our home was more than perfect. All the animals love them, we got regular check-ins w/pics, our packages were brought in for us & we never had to worry even about our special needs baby. We look forward to our next trip for a week knowing our furry babies & home will be cared for so well! I highly recommend using Ryan for your next pet sitting needs!”

“Allison was amazing with our pittie mix rescue who was a stray for 2 years and can be anxious and skittish. She immediately loved Allison (more so than she even loves us, I was joking with my husband) and even went to sleep while Allison was watching her which is unheard of for our dog. Highly recommend, Allison is truly a dog whisperer!”

“Wendy was absolutely fantastic! She was very accommodating, attentive and willing to go above and beyond while house/dog sitting! I would not think twice about using Wendy again to watch the pup!”

About: I grew up helping take care my two wonderful family dogs as well as occasionally dog-sat for friends and family. Throughout college I had multiple jobs dog-sitting ranging from checking in occasionally and providing meals to full house sitting. I work full time but am typically available outside of standard working hours. I am available to stay with your pup during the week and if local can give potty breaks every ~4 hrs. I am very familiar with caring for other’s pets and work well with instruction to take care of your family exactly how you would normally. I’m happy to provide updates while you’re away on all the fun your furry friend is having.
About: I have cared for dogs for quite some time. Currently, I am in-between dogs, so have none of my own (we do have an adorable hamster named "Preston"). I am an animal lover and understand the importance of your pet to you. I do have children of my own, so your pet would need to be friendly with children. They are very much a part of my pet care life. My family are animal lovers. I have an unfenced yard and my home backs to over an acre of common area. I have a moderate-size deck that I gate. I live in a residential neighborhood with plenty of space for walks. I have plenty of space within my home for entertaining your furry buddy. At the moment I work full time from home. Sometimes I work part time for the Harford County Public (elementary) School System. I enjoy spending time in the comfort of my home. I miss all of my prior pups and am so happy when they return for a visit. I generally take pets in my care for a walk three times a day. They will be taken outside for pee/poop breaks often. The majority of my pup parents choose to board in my home. If you are boarding your pet, you are welcome to bring your dog's bed, I have an extra large crate for safety concerns, so you can leave your crate at home, and please bring any other comfort items your pet enjoys. I always place a gate between my front door and living space. And your pet, unless I need to step out for groceries, or to drop a child at ballet, will always be under my watchful eye; i.e. crated, or gated in a secure area. Safety is my #1 priority.
About: I have watched over many of my friends and families pets. The dogs I have watched in the past have been moderately large, and could be a bit wild at times but I was able to keep hold of the situation. I have also accompanied my family and friends when they had taken care of pets for other families. I had helped train a very wild pup for a friend, as well as a basic command which was sit. I absolutely love animals and even went to a program in high school for them. I am currently free during most times of the week. I am currently attending HCC, my classes being on Monday and Wednesday and do not stretch late into the day. I am very available to watch your pups or kitties! I can come during the mornings or evenings during the week depending on the day. I am also available to house sit. I care for them by learning their needs and wants first in their home. I understand every animal is unique and needs to be cared for in a way that works for them. I listen to the owner to ensure that everything will be safe and cared for in their absence.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 10 years old!! I love all animals honestly. I’ve walked dogs, cleaned litter boxes. I’ve also bathed pets. Also cuddles are a must! Also play time is important! I would love to pet sit anytime! Pet care would be during the week in the evenings. The weekends I’m free to anything! I can do overnight stays on the weekends, I can walk, feed, and bathe pets. Depending on which service I’m doing, I do have a yard which your dog can play in. I also can bathe pets and feed them, and if you have a cat I can clean litter boxes and play and brush them!
The median cost per night for house sitting in Bel Air is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bel Air
She took such great care of my dog while I was away and gave me complete peace of mind. She was reliable, communicative, and sent regular updates and photos, which I really appreciated. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well loved. I came home to a happy pup, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Miko!

We are very pleased with the care Alexis gave our dog and our home. We were away for two weeks and during that time she communicated with us several times (which we managed with a 6 hour time difference!) including photos of our dog. She followed our directions to a T regarding our pet and our house. We returned to a tidy home and happy dog. Knowing he was comfortable, cared for, and stress free in our home added that extra bit of ease to our vacation. We highly recommend Alexis for petsitting and hope to hire her again in the future.

Autumn took wonderful care of our two pups while we were gone for the weekend. She stayed in communication and provided updates through messages, and pictures. The best part is we were able to fully trust our dogs were taken care of which allowed us to relax on vacation. She left the apartment exactly how we left it. Will definitely be booking again!

Lindsay was amazing! She not only took care of our dogs and cat but we came home to a clean house and well-behaved dogs. She left us with written out tips and tricks to help with training the dogs. We will definitely use her again and are so grateful that the pets were in such great hands.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Bel Air on Rover is $60.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,639 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bel Air. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bel Air walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bel Air maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bel Air choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bel Air. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
