About: Hi! I’m a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a lifelong dog lover based in Astoria. I provide reliable, attentive dog walking and drop-in care with a focus on safety, structure, and understanding canine behavior. I grew up around dogs and am comfortable with a wide range of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I have experience caring for energetic puppies, large breeds, seniors, and dogs who may be shy or reactive on leash. I grew up with a diabetic lab that I was regularly entrusted to provide insulin to, and under my care, he lived for an additional 5 years following his diabetes diagnosis. My background in counseling has given me a strong awareness of body language and stress signals, which I apply when working with animals. Every dog communicates, and my job is to pay attention. On walks, I prioritize: • Safe leash handling • Positive reinforcement and consistency • Awareness of surroundings and other dogs • Hydration and weather-appropriate pacing For drop-ins, I can provide feeding, fresh water, medication (if needed), playtime, and lots of updates so you feel completely at ease while you're away. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision. I treat every dog as if they were my own and strive to provide them with the patience, structure, and genuine care they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! As a graduate student with a flexible but structured schedule, I intentionally build pet care into my daily routine. I plan my academic work in blocks, which allows me to dedicate focused, reliable time to dog walking and drop-in visits throughout the week. Because I manage my schedule carefully, I’m able to be punctual, consistent, and fully present during each visit. Pet care isn’t something I squeeze in between obligations — it’s something I deliberately plan for. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize maintaining the pet’s normal routine to minimize stress and disruption. I follow all feeding, walking, medication, and household instructions carefully and consistently. On walks, I use secure leash handling, stay alert to surroundings, and avoid unnecessary risks (such as crowded dog areas if a dog is reactive or nervous). I pay close attention to body language and energy levels to adjust pace and activity appropriately. During drop-in visits, I ensure fresh water, feeding as instructed, enrichment or playtime, and a quick visual check of the home environment before leaving. I always double-check doors, crates, and gates to make sure everything is secure. I also provide clear updates and photos so owners feel confident and informed while they’re away. My goal is for both pets and owners to feel calm, safe, and well cared for.
“Jillian was fantastic! She was incredibly flexible and easy to work with. My cats are usually anxious when I travel but when I came home they were cheerful and calm”

“Angie is a repeat sitter for my cat Presley, and she’s been wonderful every time! I can trust that his medication will be administered properly and he will be well taken care of.”

“Haley was so awesome! I feel 100% confident that she will take the best care of my cats. I’ve used other sitters on Rover, but was happiest with Haley.”

“David is an amazing person and dog walker. I am so grateful and Doug loved him. Thank you so much David for taking such great care of our puppy 💕”

“Rebecca was so kind and patient with my senior pup! She separated time to meet us beforehand and provided excellent updates when we were away. My dog had a great time & I absolutely will be booking Rebecca again for my next trip!”

“Megan was amazing again and came to my pup’s rescue when he wasn’t feeling the best. She communicated his health issues clearly with me so that I could have information for the vet visit. So thankful for her!”

“Super reliable and helpful! Not only did send great pics of my cat but also cleaned up after a hairball incident and removed my smoke alarm because it began chirping from low battery. Will definitely reach out to Sylvia for all future cat sitting needs”

“Sarah did an amazing job checking in on our two cats while we were out of town for 9 days. Every day she posted adorable photos and videos and reassured us that our boys were doing well, when she would go in to feed and socialize with them. She went above and beyond even bringing cat herbs (with our permission) and new toys to play with them. She even let our boys keep a toy Sarah also cleaned up after one of them had a hairball, and again when another missed the litterbox. She was extremely communicative and responsive if we had any questions or concerns. We highly recommend her and we will definitely be working with her again the next time we are out of town!”

About: I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with my family dogs Daisy the Shih Tzu for 14 great years, and caring for her taught me everything from daily routines to understanding her weird little quirks that make each dog unique. Since then, I’ve become the go‑to dog sitter for my friends, regularly helping with walks and overnight stays. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable. I’m patient, attentive, and know the importance of taking care of your dog as if it was my own. Your pet’s comfort and routine matter to me, and I’m committed to giving them the same love and attention they expect at home. I am currently working a flexible hybrid job in Tribeca and live in Astoria. I am flexible in terms of being near either location and more throughout the week. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a clean, well‑organized 1‑bedroom apartment (about 500 sq ft), which creates a calm, controlled, and quiet environment that’s perfect for dogs who thrive on consistency and attention. My apartment is a short walk from multiple parks, so your dog will have plenty of space to play. The space is fully pet‑proofed and there is plenty of space for your dog’s bed/crate.

“Diane was such a gem for my whole time away. We had a mishap with my keys (totally my fault) and she was so helpful and understanding. My cat also requires quite the concoction of food every day and she mastered it easily. I didn’t feel worried the entire time I was away- will definitely be booking again!”

“Our cat Dewey was in great hands with Devon, who did drop-in visits over a few days. Devon was communicative and gave us a lot of confidence that Dewey was being well looked after: highly recommend her as a sitter!”

“Jasmine is my go to, she takes such good care looking after my babies and I really appreciate the detailed messages she leaves, and all the photos! Plus our cats love her as much as we do!”

Mariana was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Ruby! From the moment we met, I could tell she genuinely loves dogs and would take great care of her. She kept me updated throughout the stay with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. Ruby came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Mariana was attentive, communicative, and made sure Ruby felt comfortable and loved while I was away. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!

I had a wonderful experience with Xiaoying! She was incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and so kind throughout the entire booking. She truly went above and beyond to make sure Bowie was happy and comfortable, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She spent quality time playing with Bowie, trying different toys to see what he enjoyed most, and it was clear she genuinely cared about making him feel comfortable. She also sent lots of thoughtful updates and photos, so I always knew how he was doing. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!

This was the second time Ashley watched my two cats, and she was wonderful once again! She was incredibly responsive, arrived promptly, and sent me fantastic photos every day. When I returned home, the apartment was spotless (despite my little girls being messy eaters and enthusiastic litter kickers), and my cats were calm, happy, and clearly very well cared for. I highly recommend Ashley and would absolutely book her again!

Leah took such great care of Mochi while I was dealing with a family health scare - thank you so much for the peace of mind. Seeing Mochi’s happy little face was a highlight of my day in a difficult time. And she’s so flexible and responsive - THANK YOU LEAH!

Candice was wonderful! She was perfectly communicative and we know our kitties were well taken care of. She immediately reached out when anything out of the ordinary came up so we could resolve any road bumps quickly. I would highly recommend Candice for your pet needs!
