“Not all 5.0/Star Sitters are equal. Hao is truly a cut above the rest here. From the first time we met him and Rory, he walked us through the process in detail about how he integrates and introduces the dogs and this was so refreshing and reassuring. Throughout our trip, Hao would constantly send us A BUNCH of pictures, updates, etc. with Bear and we wouldn’t need to ask or remind him to send compared to the others we’ve boarded with before. Overall, Bear looked like he had so much fun and didn’t even miss us! He was extremely communicative with us and it's clear that he cares about the dogs he takes in. Will definitely be going back to Hao every time we're out of town. Bear had so much fun with Hao and the other dogs.”

“Jim and Mary were excellent at communication, details about care for my dog, and were great about sending a picture and text update each day. I am very happy with my experience. They were able to accommodate my last minute request. I highly recommend Jim and Mary.”

“Jordynn was amazing dog sitter. She took great care of our dog. She sent updates and we know our dog was being loved and taken care of. I would highly recommend her. We definitely will be using her again.”

“Jennie watched our young puppy for a few days while we were out of town. She was very kind. She updated us through the app upon request and was quick to get back to us. Thank you!”

“Jessica did a wonderful job! Theo seemed very happy and tired when I picked him up. She has a beautiful home and Theo seemed very comfortable right away. Theo played with her other animals and did well for his first overnight being watched without Mom. She had Theo ready to be picked up and with a fresh bath! We appreciate her taking such good care of Theo for his two night stay! Thank you Jessica!”

“Our dog, Mika, has stayed with Jenny twice now. Mika seems very comfortable/ relaxed at drop off and pick up. I love the twice daily photos and updates that Jenny sends! Would highly recommend Jenny for anyone looking for a sitter for your fur baby”

“Our pups had a great time with Whitney and her family! She kept us updated the entire time and she made sure to do everything she could to keep their routine as close to ours as possible. We will definitely take them back to her!”

“Always fantastic!! Takes great care of our dog. Never worry about it dog when she is with Michelle. We know she is cared for and loved like she is part of their family.”

“Sydney and her family were so welcoming of Nacho and put me at ease right away that my dog would be cared for and loved. Their fenced in yard was ideal and Sydney sent pictures and videos every day. Easy communication that made planning and expectations a breeze.”

“Stefany was great. Our dog gets very anxious and she helped her settle in and get comfortable almost immediately. She sent us lots of pictures and we could tell she was being well cared for. Thank you.”

“Mandi and her family took such good care of our pup. Every picture she sent he was happy and getting the love he wanted. They have an adorable golden, Hank, that was super friendly and they played well together. Her kids seemed so sweet with our pup as well. Thank you for being a great home for our pup while we were away!”

“Great to work with and were flexible with drop off and pick up times as I had to do a late pick up driving home. Communication was solid and my dog was happy at pick up time from spending time with their family!!”

“Best experience we've ever had leaving our dog while we were gone on vacation! Jewell even sent pictures to update us and let us know he was settling in fine, and that meant the world to our kids who were very worried about their puppy. :)”

“The minute we arrived at Sachi's home, our dog felt comfortable there. She sent us updates, pictures and videos of him while we were away. He seemed to adjust well and followed his regular sleeping and eating habits. We will use Sachi again.”

“Thank you so much for providing a loving and playful home for Cooper at such short notice! He loved every minute with your family and Nala and Mouse! We will definitely have to call on you again!! Maybe even a daycare just to keep them socialized! ♥️🐶🐾”

“We could seriously not be happier. We’ve had a few bad experiences on Rover and used Kristen to wat h our pup for a week and a half. She sent pics every day and I’ve never seen our boy so happy. She is patient and welcoming with a beautiful (and very clean) home. It felt like leaving our dog with a family member. I recommend her 1000 times. Thanks, Kristen!!”

Rachel did an amazing job with Toby! Her family was super sweet and I can tell they all love dogs very much, and she sent update photos so I knew Toby had such a great time there. She was also super flexible about me coming to pick him up early which I really appreciated.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Vanessa was absolutely amazing with our puppy and kitten during their two-week stay! She truly went above and beyond in caring for them. She also did a great job with grooming, and our pets came home happy and well taken care of. Our puppy had a few accidents, but Vanessa handled everything patiently and professionally. She even took him to the vet while we were away, which we really appreciated. We felt completely at ease knowing our pets were in such good hands. We would definitely book with Vanessa again and highly recommend her to anyone on Rover!

Leah and Marcus were absolutely amazing! We were feeling nervous with leaving our puppy for the first time while we were on our trip, but they were super great at communicating with us and can tell Moose had a great time! They have an incredible family that was very loving and gave our dog lot of attention/play time! We will definitely be using them in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
