About: Growing up, I was never allowed to have pets, so as soon as I was on my own, I got my first guinea pig! I'm currently taking care of two piggies, and contrary to popular belief, they all require very meticulous care — constant fresh water and unlimited hay, daily vitamin C tablets, fresh veggies, portioned pellets, daily spot cleaning with a full cage cleaning every two weeks, and the occasional eye ointment when a piggy gets a case of hay poke. I also have experience administering oral medication to guinea pigs. I got my first dog in October of 2023 — a Border Collie puppy! She gets weekly teeth brushing, coat brushing, nail trims, and paw pad shaving when appropriate. I take real pride in keeping up with her hygiene, with baths about every three months (unless she gets filthy beforehand) and frequent paw washings when it's muddy out. I also maintain a training regimen — I'm not by any means a professional or certified trainer, but I'm both consistent and persistent about getting my pup to a level that Victoria Stilwell would be proud of. I watched A LOT of It's Me or the Dog growing up! I also have experience caring for dogs in heat. My experience with cats isn't as in-depth as my guinea pig and dog experience, but rest assured, I have plenty of love and care to offer them too! I've house sat cats in the past for weeks at a time — feeding, watering, playing, and cleaning litter boxes regularly. My cat care doesn't go much past those basics, but I take direction well and am always willing to take on kitties with more specialized needs. I hope this gives you confidence in my ability to properly care for your pet! I'm always happy to answer any questions or concerns, and I will NEVER take a risk that could negatively affect you or your beloved pet. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends are wide open for me, unless my calendar says otherwise. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I work a 9-5, so pet sitting visits on those days are scheduled around my work hours, but I'm still available for walks, drop-ins, and check-ins. No matter the day, your pet gets my full attention and the quality care they deserve, every single time. Depending on the boundaries and rules you set, I'm always happy to take your pet(s) out for exercise at a dog park or just a walk around the block. I love giving animals human interaction and have no issue spending time playing, whether that's tug of war, fetch, or puzzle games for pets that need some mental stimulation! If you're interested, I can send check-in pictures so you can see how your pet(s) are doing while you're away, along with any other updates you'd like. Safety is incredibly important to me, which is why your pet(s) will be carefully monitored the entire time they're in my care. I personally keep security cameras in my own home to monitor my dog while I'm away - I even have one dedicated specifically to keeping an eye on my guinea pigs! You can never be too safe, and you can never take too many precautions.

About: Hi there, I am Roxanna and I have had pets for as long as I can remember. I am local in the Shawnee and Lenexa area. I grew up with both dogs and cats and have trained all my dogs over the years from the time they were puppies. My current pup is epileptic and at one point was having multiple seizures a day. While this has not been a fun endeavor, I have learned a lot and am well versed in dispensing oral medication and also keeping calm in emergency situations. I currently have two dogs and 1 black cat and while most people are afraid of my cat, I don't hold it against him (ha!) | pride myself in understanding cat behavior. I would love to come walk your dogs or check in on your pets. From puppies and kittens to the frosted face doggos and cats, I am comfortable with any age range and their ability (or disabilities.) About: I have had dogs in our home forever and after we lost our beloved Wheaten Terrier (14yo), we have added a 5 year old rescue Doodle to our family. She’s so sweet and loves little dogs. My kids are grown and I am learning how to be an empty nester. I work from my home office and your pet will be my co-worker when they stay with me. I do travel for work, so send requested dates! We go for long walks, car rides, and get all the head pats! I will love keeping your pet while you are away and we will have lots of fun time together! I have a flexible schedule and work from home! I love to walk and have a four legged companion on the trails with me! My doodle shares her bed and blankets! I do travel for work so we can compare schedules! I have a big yard and plenty of room inside as well! Pets are allowed on furniture and beds in our home! Our house is on the public park / trail system and we love to take daily walks. About: I've had 3 golden retrievers while I was growing up and helped taking care of them everyday. Our one golden had puppies and I helped out a lot with them. Now, I have the sweetest black lab! I work a 9-5 during the week but I am not usually very busy on weekends and would love to meet and take care of some new pups! About: I have had a number of families count on me to take care of both their children and pets for over 20 years (including dogs, cats, birds, and fish). Recently, I've taken care of a few family members' senior dogs and cats so I am experienced with administering medications. In my own free time I love going for walks (as well as runs if your dog would like that). I am a flight instructor at one of the local airports which gives me a flexible schedule. There are also days when the weather isn’t “flight friendly” (hello spring!) which allows me to stop by and walk your dog/feed your pet. I show up when needed, talk to the pets, show them lots of love and attention, and take care of my responsibilities (feeding, letting outside, walking, medication etc). My main gig is flight instructing. Everything in flying has a checklist so you can count on me to follow any instructions you leave me.

About: I offer small-group, in-home boarding, designed for pet parents who want something more personal than a traditional boarding facility. I intentionally keep the number of guest dogs small and manageable. While I do welcome pets from multiple families, I don't believe in packing a large number of dogs into one space. My goal is for every dog to receive individual attention, supervision, affection, and care rather than simply being one of many. Our home is spacious and set up to give dogs room to relax. We have two living rooms, a large unused basement area, and a fully privacy-fenced yard. Someone is almost always home, so your dog isn't spending the majority of the day alone. I have two senior dogs of my own, and I'm very intentional about maintaining a calm, safe environment for everyone's comfort. Because this is our family home, I do have a few house rules. Dogs are not allowed on our beds or couches, and I use baby gates or separation when necessary for safety, feeding, introductions, or simply giving a dog some downtime. My $35/night rate is intentionally priced below many local boarding and daycare facilities, while still providing the advantages of a home environment: a smaller group, more individualized attention, a spacious home, a private fenced yard, and someone nearby most of the time. If you're looking for a place where your dog can be cared for as an individual—not just another dog in a large boarding group—I'd love to welcome them into our home. ❤️🐶

I just retired from teaching in ShawneeMission usd 512 after 30 years and back to what I didn't have enough time for- pets and yoga. I do what I say I will do and show up on time. I used to have a cat but now I am a mother of 2 adorable goldendoodles and i understand how you feel about your furry children. Unconditional love despite occasional reminders that they are in fact dogs ( or cats). I will take care of yours as if they were my own. I am very strong and love staying active - walking dogs is a both a joy and exercise I am freshly retired and I have all time in the world better my own morning workout and teaching yoga to spend time with furry babies I spent over 30 years teaching high school and taking care of children, I will take care of your dogs/ cats just the way I card for the kids- as if they were my own. I have my own 2 dogs/ they are better than children to me- I understand how loving and attentive a caregiver need a to be.
