About: Hi, I’m Shanna! I provide care at your home so your pets can stay comfortable in their normal routine while you’re away. As a remote worker, I’m able to stay at your home during work hours - great for pets who are used to company throughout the day! My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible. I am happy to follow detailed instructions, and I provide regular updates and photos so you always know how things are going. Specialties: I have a soft spot for shy or nervous pets, and I take extra care to follow their lead and let them warm up at their own pace. When I cannot monitor them, they'll get to chill in a cozy crate or pen, with fresh water always available and a chew toy, puzzle, or snack to keep them entertained. For walks and other adventures, I will always keep your dog leashed and close to me. I love to take dogs out on excursions to parks, trails, and other such places! Of course, I will always check with you first to make sure that we don't go somewhere your dog doesn't enjoy. I have three adult dogs (all ~45lbs) and a cat in my home. The cat is dog-friendly, but also is able to be kept entirely separate from your dog if needed. My dogs are all 100% dog-friendly, have good play manners, and are also able to be neutral around/ignore other dogs when told. They are very patient with young puppies as well! And if your pup isn't one for new friends, don't worry - they can be kept totally separate on request, and your dog will still get plenty of one-on-one playtime & snuggles with me. It is 100% up to you if your pup has any interaction with other dogs (or the cat). Full separation is possible, but if you'd like your dog to make some furry friends, I am happy to safely facilitate that! All interactions between your dog and other pets will be of limited time and monitored - the dogs will never be alone together. I currently have two Black Labs, ages 3 and 5, who keep me active and remind me every day how important exercise, attention, and love are for a dog’s well-being. About: I’ve had pets since I was a child and have been a natural with all pets for as long as I can remember. I am knowledgeable on animal body language, specifically dogs and cats. Being aware of animal body language helps me approach and interact with animals within their comfort zone and not stress them. Your pets are your family and I strive to treat them as such! I’ve cared for people’s pets for 2 years, including dog walking, taking dogs to the dog park, pet sitting. I have also worked with reactive dogs, and leash reactive dogs. I am not a professional trainer but as someone who has adopted a reactive dog and worked with him through it to the point he is no longer reactive, I know it can be stressful. I will strive to keep your animals away from scenarios that pushes their boundaries or causes them stress. I have been called a pet whisperer, as I haven’t met a cat or dog that doesn’t warm up to me quickly and trust me. Your dogs comfort and care is important. Your fur baby is safe with me 🐾 I have a pretty free schedule. So let me know what times or days you need and I can make it work as this is my main job right now. I follow their lead first on their trust and comfort with me. To gain this trust I read their body language and allow them space to approach and interact with me as they see fit! I try to stay present and in their sight, typically by sitting on the couch or floor to show them I am not a threat and I am calm. I talk to softly and only pet if it’s invited! Once your pet shows they trust and feel comfortable they get all the lovings and pets they want. I’ll play with them and walk with them. You tell me what your pets need and I got them!

About: Growing up, I was never allowed to have pets, so as soon as I grew up, I got my first guinea pig! I'm currently taking care of my own guinea pigs which, contrary to popular belief, all require very meticulous care. This meticulous care includes, but is not limited to, verifying all four piggies have a constant supply of water and unlimited hay, administration of vitamin C tablets daily, planting, growing and harvesting fresh vegetables for piggy consumption every, other day, administering portioned hay pellets for daily consumption, daily cage spot cleaning with full cage cleanings every, two weeks, and the occasional administering of eye ointment on the rare occasion a piggy gets a case of hay poke. I also have experience administering oral medication to guinea pigs. I got my first dog in October of 2023 - a Border Collie puppy! My dog receives weekly teeth brushing, coat brushing as well as nail trimming and paw pad shaving when appropriate. I take pride in the upkeep of my dog's hygiene with baths about every three months (unless she gets filthy beforehand) and frequent paw washings if it's muddy outside. I also maintain a training regimen. While I am not by any means a professional or certified dog trainer, I am both consistent and persistent on getting my pup to a level that Victoria Stilwell would be proud of - I watched A LOT of It's Me or the Dog on Animal Planet growing up! I also have experience with caring for dogs in heat. My experience with cats isn't as in-depth as my guinea pig and dog experience, but rest assured I have experience caring and loving them nonetheless! I've house sat cats in the past for weeks to a month at a time feeding, watering, playing, and cleaning litter boxes on a regular basis. My care experience with cats doesn't go much past the basic care I've mentioned, but I take direction well and am willing take on kitties with specialized care needs! I can still take on any job that I have listed on my profile, but time spent with your pet will be limited to work around my 9-5 job for pet sitting gigs, specifically. Regardless, I will ensure that your pet(s) receive the quality care that is expected and that they deserve! Your pet(s) will ALWAYS come first! Depending on boundaries and rules set by the owner, I am always happy to take your pet(s) out for exercise at a dog park or just a walk around the block. I love giving animals human interaction and have no issues with spending time playing either, whether that be tug of war, fetch, or even puzzle games for the pets that need mental stimulation! If interested, I can send check-in pictures just so you can see how your pet(s) are doing while you're away and send other communications as needed or requested. Safety is incredibly important to me which is why your pet(s) will be carefully monitored throughout the whole time they are in my care. I personally keep security cameras in my own home just to monitor my dog napping while I'm away because you can never be too safe and you can never take too many precautions!
