She exceed expectations and went above and beyond with Loki. She is responsible, respectful, caring, loving, extremely detail oriented, communicative, etc… we are so honored that you were able to help us Gabby! Thank you 😊”

About: I have had dogs in our home forever and after we lost our beloved Wheaten Terrier (14yo), we have added a 5 year old rescue Doodle to our family. She’s so sweet and loves little dogs. My kids are grown and I am learning how to be an empty nester. I work from my home office and your pet will be my co-worker when they stay with me. I do travel for work, so send requested dates! We go for long walks, car rides, and get all the head pats! I will love keeping your pet while you are away and we will have lots of fun time together! I have a flexible schedule and work from home! I love to walk and have a four legged companion on the trails with me! My doodle shares her bed and blankets! I do travel for work so we can compare schedules! I have a big yard and plenty of room inside as well! Pets are allowed on furniture and beds in our home! Our house is on the public park / trail system and we love to take daily walks. I can crate your dog to their comfort level and they will never be alone for more than 3-4 hours if they are boarding with me. I like to take dogs everywhere I go, so bring me all your social pups!
“Susan house sat our Labradors, Maddie and Piper for the first time. We are beyond pleased with the exceptional quality of attention and care she provided. Susan was always on-time, professional, friendly, and showed she cared about our dogs. She didn’t hesitate to ask questions or provide updates. Both dogs took to her immediately and she treated them like her own. The house was absolutely spotless when we returned. We will definitely be asking her to house sit again in the future!!”

“Kelly was an awesome sitter for Eddie! She was easy to communicate with. She helped keep him on the medications and supplements he needed. Eddie was happy and well cared for! She is a great pet sitter. We highly recommend her for anyone looking for pet care!”

“Annicka was a pleasure to work with! She was incredibly kind, communicative, and easy to talk to. During our initial meeting, she asked thoughtful, detailed questions about our puppy’s care, which immediately put us at ease. Throughout her time with him, she was reliable and kept us well-informed with great updates. We felt completely confident leaving our pup in her care and would absolutely utilize her again, as well as recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter.”

“Susan always goes above and beyond! She takes such good care of our dog and the house. She helped with my plants and even circled back to check on our dog when our flights were delayed. Thank you!”

“Lauren did an amazing job watching our puppy this week. She's only 14 weeks so requires someone that can handle an active, at times aggressive puppy and Lauren did an exemplary job. Was such a relief knowing I can travel and not worry about a thing. Thanks Lauren!!”

About: I have had the privilege to have pet's around me most my Life. I have 25 + years’ experience in caring for pets. In 2020 I was a personal and business assistant to a Lovely older Lady in Loch Lloyd. I also took care of her three dogs a parrot when she went out of town. One of here three poodles was elderly so I cared for him, administering oral medicine and assisted walking with a devise/harness. Our pets are our family; they are our fur babies. What I mean by that is they need our attention to details, structure and consideration to thrive. To adequately understand their needs, and communicate with them they need the consistency and consideration when it comes to caring for them. I would feel blessed and honored to care for your precious pet family when you are unable to do so. ♡ I had dogs most of my life but from 2019 - 2024 I had cats. I was Blessed with KiKi first, a friend of a friend had to rehome her because of the atmosphere she was in with the Dog he had, she would always hide. He had her since she was a kitten. When I got here, she was hesitant to come near me, but once we bonded it was like no other connection I've had. Then, my nephew’s cat had kittens, July 1st 2022. I went and visited them ever couple of days. I had only planned to take one, Lucy, but Oliver was my little dude so I took both. Reluctantly, last year I had to rehome them because I lost my apartment after I went through a tragedy that had me unable to work or function for many months. I vetted people for months, putting my fur babies first. I was able to find all 3 of them a single home to go to. They're with a loving family. I currently do Uber (5☆ still☺️). I have been doing it for almost 3 years . I have a lot of flexibility. Which is also a plus if you needed to be taken to the Airport:) I will treat your pets as if they are my own. I will give them the care outlined by you. I will not and cannot use any devises that could cause them harm IE Prong Collars! But know I will give them the time during the time I am with them to assess their needs. I will give them lots of love. Walks, brushing etc. Also clean up hair and other things as needed.

Riley was amazing from start to finish….before our travel, during our travel & after. Her communication was great & both of our dogs really loved her. Would highly recommend her & we will 100% use her again. Thank you Riley for taken such great care of our 2 little guys!

We used Emilie for the first time to stay in our home and care for our dogs, and we had a great experience. She sent lots of pictures throughout her stay, which gave us peace of mind that our dogs were happy and well cared for. She also kept us updated on when she arrived and left each day, and the communication was excellent. We would definitely use Emilie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Kristina is simply the best pet sitter we’ve ever had. A++++! Attentive, responsive, and oh-so-loving, she cared for our chickens, dogs, and garden with such genuine heart. When the unexpected happened and we lost one of our chickens while we were away, Kristina handled it with grace, compassion, and calm — exactly what you hope for in someone you trust with your animals. She kept us informed every step of the way, sparing us no detail we needed while shielding us from unnecessary worry. She also went above and beyond to keep the rest of the flock safe. We can't thank her enough! Beyond navigating the hard moments, Kristina did more than we ever could have asked — keeping the garden watered, the house tidy, and our whole crew happy and loved. We feel completely at ease leaving home knowing Kristina is there and just so, so grateful to have her.

Susan was always on-time, professional, friendly, and showed she cared about our dogs. She didn’t hesitate to ask questions or provide updates. We had the pleasure of having Amanda take care of our two high-energy dogs while we were out of town, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! She kept us updated daily with pictures and notes, which really put our minds at ease. She was so great at handling our dogs' energy and gave them the attention and care they needed. Unfortunately, while we were away, my husband had a medical emergency and had to be admitted to the hospital, which meant we needed to extend our stay unexpectedly. Amanda was incredibly understanding and flexible, covering the extra time without hesitation. Her willingness to adapt to our changing situation was so appreciated during such a stressful time. We will absolutely be utilizing Amanda again in the future. She goes above and beyond what’s expected and truly cares about the pets she’s looking after. Highly recommend!

Danielle is everything you could hope for and more. It’s hard to summarize someone who was such a perfect sitter. We traveled overseas for 11 nights and her overall character allowed us to be completely present as we knew without a doubt our dogs and home were being well cared for. Her communication and daily photos were fabulously welcomed. She asked great questions to clarify routines and responsibilities. Our dogs melted for her with love. She even took out the trash and vacuumed the house 🥹 (2 Great Pyrenees = fur and leaves). We returned from our European vacation to a spotless house and happy pups. 5 stars, 10/10, 110% … whatever you want to call it, Danielle is the one 🙏 Thank you Danielle

Cassidy was a wonderful sitter. She is a kind person and after meeting her I felt confident letting her watch my dogs. My dogs loved her and she gave them the attention they needed. She gave me updates about the dogs, which eased my mind away from home. I will definitely continue to hire her to watch my dogs for future vacations!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Zarah on Rover is $50 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,669 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Zarah. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Zarah walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Zarah maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Zarah choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
