“Allison was wonderful. She knew just how to help Spike warm up, she communicated well, was so thoughtful and kept me up to date. Spike had a great time and was entertained the whole time! Highly recommend her!”

“Morgan is great – she takes wonderful care of my house and all 4 cats when I am away. She makes a special point to connect with my quietest cat, who is a little bit fearful too, & over 2 stays, she has built a relationship with him. 🥰. I would recommend her without hesitation, and will definitely request her excellent services again when I travel!”

“Ashley was fantastic! She took such great care of our dogs - they loved her and followed her around everywhere! Ashley sent us photos each day to keep us updated on how they were doing, played with them, took them on walks and made sure they were loved. On top of that, she left the house spotless. We couldn’t recommend Ashley more.”

“Reese did an amazing job: first walking me through how to introduce her to my anxious big dog at our meet-n-greet and on the first day of the sit. She regularly sent a ton of pictures of my three pets throughout the weeklong stay, which increased my enjoyment of my time away. And even though she caught a really bad cold while sitting, she remained extremely communicative and committed to staying with my pets until the day I was due home, which I greatly appreciated. And I also appreciated her efforts to make sure my home was sanitized and cleaned before I returned.”

“Annika was awesome. She played with rocky and molly the second she got to my house. Informed me everything that was going on throughout her stay. Even my dogs seemed disappointed when I showed up instead of Annicka lol. She did everything perfect. Definitely would recommend her to anyone”

“Sara was wonderful! She was very flexible with our booking and very understanding of such a last minute arrangement. We got pictures of our dog while we were away and Sara communicated with us upon arrival and departure. Our dog seemed happy when we got home and our house looked just like we had left it! I would absolutely book with Sara again!!”

“5 stars plus! Roxanne is awesome! She took care of our 4 small doggies and they love her. Roxanne sent me daily updates and pictures which were comforting to us and helped us enjoy our vacation even more. We highly recommend Roxanne!”

“Jessica treated Winston so well I think she spoiled him. She took care of his ears bad anxiety and his neck issue very careful and caring. She was wonderful person to take care of my Winston. Thank you Jessica.”

“Cortney is wonderful, took excellent care of my spoiled pups, gave them lots of love & everything went so smoothly. Fantastic communication with updates & pics. While the pups were ecstatic for us to come home, they were clearly just happy to see us & not stressed, because they had been so well taken care of. Thank you Cortney!!”

“Ty was communicative and sent tons of pictures to put us at ease that our dogs were having a good time while we were away! We will definitely book with him again if available on future trips!”

About: I have a 2 year old springer spaniel, named Maple. I adopted her 2 years ago and she is my best friend. I work at Hill’s Pet Nutrition in their corporate offices, and I LOVE IT. I get to bring Maple into the office a couple times a week. I grew up with large dogs and have always been around pups. I am so excited to love on all your best friends! I currently work part time at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, in Corporate Communications while I am finishing up my degree. I have my weekends wide open and am looking for some dog friends to hangout with! I am a very active person and am constantly outside, I will always find different paths to take walks on. I take time to meet the dogs and get acquainted before doing anything outside the house together.
“Emily was extremely patient with our anxious and cautious dog. She kept me updated on how he was doing throughout our time away and made sure we knew he was in good hands. Would highly reccomend!”

“Krystina did an amazing job taking care of my pup! I couldn’t have asked for anything more. She sent lots of photos and was very responsive. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Allison was amazing with our brand new puppy when we had to go out of town shortly after bringing him home. She helped me to figure out what would best suit him and his needs and without her we wouldn’t have been able to adopt Beau. She cared for him like one of her own fur babies and sent me many pictures and videos to show how well he was doing. I’ll definitely be using Allison many times in the future.”

“Lindsey was amazing! She took such great care of our dogs, and our home. She followed all of our instructions and sent great pictures of the pups. We will definitely use her again!”

Gabriella is amazing! She gave detailed updates at least three times each day we were gone, and included pictures of our dog having a blast. Our dog loved having Gabby over, and she was so comfortable with her. Gabby played with her a ton, so she had an amazing time. Our dog normally struggles with eating when we are away due to nerves, but she ate just fine during Gabriella’s stay. Gabriella also watered our plants while we were gone, and we are so appreciative! She left the cutest report card with a little photo for our dog, too. Highly, highly recommend Gabriella
Jenny stayed with our dogs while we were out of town and did an awesome job of taking care of them. This was our first time having someone come to the house to watch the pups while we were out of town and she made us feel very comfortable. She was great at updating us with messages and photos. One of our dogs can be very difficult getting to know new people and she was very understanding and handled her well. She was also able to give their meds and supplements, and keep them on their same daily schedule. We will be using her again for other vacations.

Jessica came and often came with her husband, Juan to watch our fur babies. They were amazing. They sent regular updates and pictures even washed some bedding that one of the dogs had threw up on. I would recommend Jessica to watch your fur babies five stars.

Janette has seriously been the best for us. She is super flexible, which we really appreciate, and our dogs LOVE her. You can just tell they’re comfortable with her and that means everything to us. She’s also really good with communication, we always know what’s going on and never have to worry about how there doing! At this point she’s the first person we call anytime we need someone for our two dogs. We wouldn’t leave them with just anybody, but we fully trust her.

Autumn was fantastic. We have never entrusted a "stranger" with not only our pets but our entire home and worldly goods. Autumn proved to be dependable, trustworthy and very caring about our property and our furry family members. If you need someone you can trust to watch your s pets and/ot your home, choose her!! We will do it again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Olathe on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,619 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Olathe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Olathe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Olathe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Olathe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Olathe. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
