“Piper was great. My husband and I were gone for 11 days and she housesit with our Yorkie. Communication was great and a lot Of photos. I have a rescheduled for October.”

“Ashley was amazing with our older dog! She was easy to communicate with and took great care of our dog in our home while we were away. I can tell by the pictures our girl enjoyed having Ashley there with her!”

“Morgan was the most amazing and attentive dog sitter, watching over my 13 year old dog with such care and love. I received updates and pictures while I was gone which made me feel so positive about this first time pet sitting experience. You can tell Morgan loves animals ❤️❤️and Ollie loved her.”

“Annicka was a pleasure to work with! She was incredibly kind, communicative, and easy to talk to. During our initial meeting, she asked thoughtful, detailed questions about our puppy’s care, which immediately put us at ease. Throughout her time with him, she was reliable and kept us well-informed with great updates. We felt completely confident leaving our pup in her care and would absolutely utilize her again, as well as recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter.”

“Reese did an amazing job: first walking me through how to introduce her to my anxious big dog at our meet-n-greet and on the first day of the sit. She regularly sent a ton of pictures of my three pets throughout the weeklong stay, which increased my enjoyment of my time away. And even though she caught a really bad cold while sitting, she remained extremely communicative and committed to staying with my pets until the day I was due home, which I greatly appreciated. And I also appreciated her efforts to make sure my home was sanitized and cleaned before I returned.”

“Thank you Roxanne for taking care of Jazz, our elderly black lab. We received photos throughout the days we were gone and appreciate the communication. Roxanne stayed at our home for three days and the house was just as we left it.”
“Sara did a great job! I was confident in her past experience with dogs and knew Lovey would be well taken care of. Sara was great at communicating before and during my trip. She sent reports everyday with pictures. She even washed the sheets from the bed she stayed in and they were dry when I got home. It was a positive experience from start to finish and I will reach out to her for future dog sitting needs.”

About: Hi, I’m Tylar! 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover who grew up in a multi-pet home, so I’m completely in my element whether I’m hanging out with high-energy pups, extra-large breeds, or independent cats. I treat every pet like family and strive to give owners total peace of mind while they’re away from home. Whether your dog needs an early morning walk to beat the heat, a midday energy release, or a quick potty break, I tailor every visit to your pet’s routine. I am also super comfortable with cats—making sure food, fresh water, litter boxes, and play/cuddle time are all checked off. Flexible Scheduling: Early morning walks, midday check-ins, and flexible drop-in times. Same-Day & Short-Notice Friendly: Open to last-minute requests when unexpected plans or longer work shifts pop up. Consistent Routine Care: Available for daily recurring dog walks or multi-day vacation drop-in schedules. I treat every dog and cat in my care with the exact same love, hyper-vigilance, and safety-first mindset that I give my own animals at home. Your pet’s physical safety and emotional comfort are always my highest priorities. Safety & Security First: Leashes and harnesses are double-checked before stepping outside, doors and gates are strictly secured, and I stay fully aware of our surroundings during walks to avoid aggressive dogs or hot pavement. Respecting Your Environment: I leave your home exactly as I found it—securing doors, locking up properly, and ensuring your pet is happy, hydrated, and settled before I leave. Open & Honest Communication: You’ll receive real-time updates and photos during every visit so you never have to wonder how your family member is doing.
“Jessica did a wonderful job taking care of our home and watching over our girl. We loved receiving pictures and updates about Diamond, and when we got back, everything was spotless. Connecting with Jessica was effortless, quick, and smooth. We would absolutely choose her again; she was incredibly friendly, and we felt so comfortable right away.”

“Allison did a great job housesitting our 2 vizsla's for 6 days/5 nights while we were away on an international trip. She met our dogs a couple of weeks before our trip and noted their individual needs. It was good to know they could be comfortable in their own home and cared for the same they would if we were there. It was so nice to receive daily updates and photos of our dogs as well. I would rebook Allison again.”

“Krystina did an amazing job taking care of my pup! I couldn’t have asked for anything more. She sent lots of photos and was very responsive. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Emily was extremely patient with our anxious and cautious dog. She kept me updated on how he was doing throughout our time away and made sure we knew he was in good hands. Would highly reccomend!”

“Carolyn was amazing. We found her in a pinch and will definitely have her watch our dog again. She was so respectful, kind, and thoughtful! She stayed with our girl over the fourth who has pretty bad noise sensitivity/anxiety and I felt so comfortable and at peace having Carolyn there. Would highly recommend!”

“Cortney is wonderful, took excellent care of my spoiled pups, gave them lots of love & everything went so smoothly. Fantastic communication with updates & pics. While the pups were ecstatic for us to come home, they were clearly just happy to see us & not stressed, because they had been so well taken care of. Thank you Cortney!!”

“Michelle W did an awesome job caring for our elderly pupper. She sent pics on their walks, gave him love & attention, fed him on our schedule, brought in our mail, and informed us of a Christmas package that had arrived. This is our 2nd Christmas having Michelle care for our dog/home and we could not be happier! Michelle is a professional, personable, caring person to trust with your pet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her.”

“Jessica was so kind and took great care of our anxious pup! She updated everyday with pictures and how things were going. She stayed in our home and left it in great condition as well. We will definitely use her again and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Tabitha was AMAZING. I needed a last minute sitter for my newly adopted 1 year old great pyr and she promptly responded and asked great questions to make sure she was a god fit prior. She arrived early and got all information needed. She was calm and attentive, took him out often, and gave him lots of love and patience as he is quite the anxious pup and can’t be left alone yet. She respected all of my home rules/asks as well as my rules/asks with my pup. She watched my boy for a total of 12 hours (she originally agreed to 10, but I was forced to stay overtime at my job and she volunteered tested to stay without question. Not to mention it was 4 pm to 4 am!) Tabitha is kind and very educated with animals, and provided a great report when I got home. After just their first interaction my boy was sad to see her go. She truly does this for the animals! I highly recommend Tabitha for any future sitter seekers in the future!”

Jessica did a wonderful job taking care of our home and watching over our girl. We loved receiving pictures and updates about Diamond, and when we got back, everything was spotless. Connecting with Jessica was effortless, quick, and smooth. We would absolutely choose her again; she was incredibly friendly, and we felt so comfortable right away.

Gabriella is amazing! She gave detailed updates at least three times each day we were gone, and included pictures of our dog having a blast. Our dog loved having Gabby over, and she was so comfortable with her. Gabby played with her a ton, so she had an amazing time. Our dog normally struggles with eating when we are away due to nerves, but she ate just fine during Gabriella’s stay. Gabriella also watered our plants while we were gone, and we are so appreciative! She left the cutest report card with a little photo for our dog, too. Highly, highly recommend Gabriella
Jenny stayed with our dogs while we were out of town and did an awesome job of taking care of them. This was our first time having someone come to the house to watch the pups while we were out of town and she made us feel very comfortable. She was great at updating us with messages and photos. One of our dogs can be very difficult getting to know new people and she was very understanding and handled her well. She was also able to give their meds and supplements, and keep them on their same daily schedule. We will be using her again for other vacations.

Janette has seriously been the best for us. She is super flexible, which we really appreciate, and our dogs LOVE her. You can just tell they’re comfortable with her and that means everything to us. She’s also really good with communication, we always know what’s going on and never have to worry about how there doing! At this point she’s the first person we call anytime we need someone for our two dogs. We wouldn’t leave them with just anybody, but we fully trust her.

Autumn was fantastic. We have never entrusted a "stranger" with not only our pets but our entire home and worldly goods. Autumn proved to be dependable, trustworthy and very caring about our property and our furry family members. If you need someone you can trust to watch your s pets and/ot your home, choose her!! We will do it again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Olathe on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 1,603 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Olathe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Olathe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Olathe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Olathe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Olathe. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
