“I’ve been using Amber for the last few months for work trips and personal travel and she’s so great! She’s very responsive and has been flexible with last minute Ute changes. She’s my go to every time I need someone to watch my dog.”

“Erin was just wonderful! She has a very calming presence that our doggies appreciated. They hardly missed us while we were gone! She took excellent care of our home as well. We really loved the daily updates and photos that she sent. 11/10; highly recommended!”

“Lori did a great job staying with our pups! We had a last minute need to go out of town and decided to try Rover. Sure glad Lori was available! She kept us informed and provided pictures so we knew things were going well. We have already used her since to provide check-ins for the pups. Thank you Lori!”

“Abigail is the best!! My dogs were so happy and well taken care of. She sent updates and gave me such a peace of mind leaving them with her for a week. I already have her scheduled again!”
“Rachel did a fantastic job watching over our Juniper. Juniper was very comfortable around her, and Rachel made sure to give updates throughout our trip. I would trust Rachel with our dog any day of the week.”

“Lulu did a wonderful job taking care of our two pets. Rocky is a high energy dog who can be difficult at times and our cat Opal was shy at first but Lulu went above and beyond to meet their needs and make them comfortable during her stay. Her daily walks with Rocky were greatly appreciated as well as his pool play time and fetching. Opal got extra quiet time and petting seperate from the dog because he gets jealous. We loved daily updates and pictures and would definitely have Lulu stay with our pets again.”

“Julia took excellent care of our girl. We made a last minute request for Julia to extend her stay and she was kind enough to accommodate. I would definitely recommend Julia for your pet sitting needs.”

“Lindsey was amazing! She took such great care of our dogs, and our home. She followed all of our instructions and sent great pictures of the pups. We will definitely use her again!”

“Alicia was SO sweet to both us and our animals! She administered insulin to our cat, ran with our dog to get his energy out, and kept our house in pristine condition. We were anxious to leave our fur babies and Alicia was communicative our entire time away. We can’t wait to use her again!”

“Jennifer was wonderful with Bambi! She was kind, reliable, and took great care of her while following all of our instructions. It gave us peace of mind knowing Bambi was in good hands. We’d happily book with her again!”

About: I have raised dogs and cats through out my life, I currently have a rescue Shih Tzu named Gizmo who is nine years old and is great with other dogs. I currently work at a dog training kennel and I’ve worked in an animal shelter previously so I have experience with all breeds and temperaments as well as years of professional dog walking and pet sitting. I’m getting ready to go to school full time for dog grooming and would love to take care of your pets to help make money for school! I will give your fur babies the love, care and attention they deserve. I also have experience administering medications including pills and insulin shots. I work short days outside my home starting early in the morning, but my partner works from home so your dog wouldn’t be left alone if you board with me! I’m available for in home visits or walks as well. We have a rescue Shih Tzu who is 9 years old and loves the company of other dogs, she’s not big on playing but she’s all about the snuggles and naps. I cater my care to each individual dog and am happy to discuss your pets needs. If you board with me your dog will get frequent walks and as much exercise as you request, we live in an apartment so I would be taking them out on a leash to walk around the neighborhood; we also have a fenced area specifically for letting dogs run around and play if that’s what you prefer. I am happy to crate them if you’d like or let them sleep in one of my dogs many beds, she sleeps in bed with us so she won’t mind! If I’m coming to your house I can follow any instructions you have for walking/ feeding/ administering medication I’ve done many walks and home visits for pet owners over the years, and my experience in animal shelters and dog training facilities had given me a lot of knowledge about dog behavior and needs.
“We have had Randy watch our puppy a few times now and we love him! He met her before their first sleepover and was very thorough with her intake so he knows all about her needs and our home. He also recommended we make a sitter cheat sheet which we have done and love, especially since she's a growing puppy and things are often changing. He always brings her a new little toy which she will proudly carry around and speak for days. He plays with her, walks her, loves on her, and let's her bask in the sunshine as much as her heart desires. He also fills out our dog log so we can keep track of all her activites and sends lots of photos so we don't miss her too much. We highly recommend Randy!”

“Erin was an exceptional dog sitter. We asked her to stay with our dogs throughout the day, leaving only at night, and she was consistently reliable and present every day. One of our dogs has significant anxiety, and it was clear she felt comfortable and at ease with Erin, which meant a great deal to us. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such capable and caring hands while we were away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Prairie Village
Rachel watched our two pugs for several days while we were out of town, and this was our first time using Rover. Our pugs are our life, so we were a little nervous about leaving them and wanted to make sure they were in good hands. Rachel gave us peace of mind from the very beginning. She did an awesome job and truly went above and beyond taking care of them. She stayed at our home while we were gone, kept us updated, and we couldn’t have been happier with how everything went. It was such a relief knowing our pugs were being well cared for while we were away. We had a great experience with Rachel and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. We will definitely use her again!
This was our first time using Rover for our two senior cats and we had a wonderful experience with Rachel! Our cats have a very regimented feeding schedule that includes multiple feedings a day and a lot of meds/supplements, and she handled it all like a champ. She was at our house a lot which brought us peace of mind. She sent lots of photo and updates, which also put us at ease. Rachel was also a wonderful house guest and took great care of the house and left it clean. We came home to two happy and well taken care of kitties and will definitely use her again! I highly recommend her!

Just got back in town from my first booking with Randall and he exceeded my expectations immensely! Tons of pictures were received each day and it was evident that he really cared for all three of the pets. He was not phased by medications, their fancy diet, eye drops, etc. The house was immaculate as well. Cannot recommend enough. Thanks, Randall!
Sofia did great staying the weekend with our dog. Our dog can be nervous without us but I believe Sofia did her best to keep him happy and comfortable. She treated our home with respect as everything was perfect when we returned. We're booking her again with no worries :)

Casey was fantastic! He took care of our two dogs for an extended period of time and was very communicative. One of our dogs can be very anxious while our other dog is high energy and relatively new to our household so we didn't know how they'd do. Before our trip, he took the time to meet us and our dogs so he could learn more about them and become a familiar face. From the beginning, it was clear that Casey's kind and inquisitive demeanor was exactly what our dogs would need while we were away. During our travel, Casey was quick to reach out with any questions and even sent photos of the dogs each day! When our return home was unfortunately delayed for another night, Casey didn't hesitate to extend our booking. Highly recommend!

Otto is the best! I am a repeat customer who used him for an extended stay while I was out of town. He sent lots of updates and photos with my dog on daily walks and adventures. I came home to a super clean house and a very happy dog. Otto is fantastic - highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Prairie Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Prairie Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Prairie Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
