About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my strong background in animal health and professional husbandry. Through my experience shadowing veterinarians, I’ve developed a trained eye for animal behavior and wellness. I know how to recognize the subtle signs of when a pet is feeling "off" or needs extra attention. I also have professional husbandry experience working with mice in a laboratory setting. This background means I am incredibly detail-oriented, strictly adhere to feeding and medication schedules, maintain rigorous hygiene protocols, and have a gentle touch with delicate or timid animals. I currently work remote for Yale as a PhD student, which allows me a great deal of flexibility to prioritize your pet's needs. On weekdays, I am fully available except maybe a few hours throughout the week for walks, playtime, and feedings. My weekends are completely open for overnight boarding, ensuring your pup is never left alone for long periods and receives constant companionship and care. My home is a 'pet-first' environment where safety and mental stimulation go hand-in-hand. For my two cats, I maintain a strict vertical-space setup and regular 'puzzle feeding' to keep them engaged. I am highly experienced in managing slow introductions and reading subtle body language to ensure all animals feel secure. I maintain a chemical-free cleaning routine to protect sensitive paws and noses, and I’m diligent about 'double-door' safety to prevent escapes. Whether it's ensuring fresh water fountains are clean or providing a quiet, crate-ready retreat, I treat every guest with the same meticulous care I give my own cats.
“Carole has been an incredible addition to our support team with Orfeu. She is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and has already helped us provide our highly anxious pup with more structure and security. We are beyond impressed with her professionalism and care. We would recommend her very highly to anyone!”

“Andrea was so great to communicate with - she sent lots of videos and was clearly so sweet with our dog. Very happy to have connected with her, and highly recommend!”

“Our dog can be very shy and nervous around new people, but with Melissa, she felt comfortable from the very beginning. It was incredible. It feels so good to have someone you can trust. Thank you, Meli.”

“Sarah did such an amazing job! I have two dogs with very different personalities and she handled them both great! She also took them on a long walk they were still sleepy by the time we got home. Thanks again!”

“Emily was great! Availed herself last minute on Valentines Day to walk my little guy, not once but twice. She maintained communication throughout the entire time and I know my boy was well taken care! Thank you Emily, we will be reaching out again: Linus seemed happy and content!”

About: I have taken care of dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments since I was 18. Now working in the medical side, I am able to make sure pets get their medications (including insulin) appropriately. I am mostly able to care for pets during the weekends or at nights. My work schedule at the veterinarian keeps me busy during the weekdays. I am unfortunately not able to offer pet care at my personal home. I am more than willing to travel to a clients house to care for their pets in their most comfortable environment.
“Crystal is fantastic! Our pups love the time they spent walking with Crystal. Thank you for watching our pups and following the instructions to ensure proper care while we were away! We highly recommend Crystal!”

About: I’ve had pets around pretty much my whole life, so taking care of animals feels really familiar to me. I grew up with dogs and helped with all the usual day‑to‑day stuff. About five years ago my family adopted a cat, which definitely taught me a lot about how different cats can be and what they need. Since moving to Connecticut, I’ve also taken care of friends’ cats and gotten to know a bunch of different personalities. I’ve been around so many pets over the years that stepping into a new routine feels pretty natural. I’m excited to meet your pet and make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and understood while you’re away. Being a graduate student gives me a lot of flexibility day‑to‑day. I do tend to be in the lab roughly 9–5 on weekdays, but that’s not a hard rule — I can usually set my own hours or work from home when I need to. With enough notice, I can usually open up my schedule for pretty much any time of day, especially for dog walking or check‑ins. Weekdays after 5pm are often the easiest by default, and weekends depend on what I’ve planned, but I’m generally able to move things around. And honestly, there are plenty of days where my schedule is wide open and I can help out on short notice too. I live by myself in an apartment, so it’s easy for me to adjust to whatever your pet needs. Friends’ pets have been over plenty of times, so my place is already pet‑friendly. I’m happy to follow whatever routine your pet is used to so things feel familiar for them. For walks and drop‑ins, I can adjust to whatever your and your pets needs are. I really enjoy getting outside with dogs, so walks are something I’m always happy to make time for. The only downside is that I don’t have a yard, but I make up for it with regular walks, check‑ins, and paying attention to what your pet needs to feel comfortable.
“Gabriela was great! She was super adaptable and stopped over on such short notice to meet Steve the night before we needed a walker. She handled all of our needs, kept us updated on everything and provided pictures of her walk with Steve! She did a great job and we know Steve had fun on his walk. We highly recommend Gabriela and we will be using her again in the future”

“Paul was just perfect for my needs. He walked my two Welsh Corgi's while I was away. He was always prompt, courteous and considerate. My pups grew to like him a lot, and the walking became and happy for them. My husband, who remained at home during this trip, was very pleased. Thank you Paul!”
“Vanessa is so lovely! She walks my pug, Mabel, regularly and Mabel adores her. She is incredibly reliable and sends great pictures and updates. I appreciate her extra effort so much and would recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve had a lot of experience growing up taking care of a variety of pets growing up including dogs, cats, a rabbit, fish, birds, hamsters, a bearded dragon and a newt. I currently do not have any pets as I am a student and am waiting until graduation when I will most likely adopt a cat. I have had experience formally pet sitting and walking including over night stays. Pets I have formally sat for include dogs, cats, and a bird. I have also casually watched over friends and roommates animals including dogs, cats and a bearded dragon. I currently work from home and am a graduate student. I make my own schedule so my schedule is very open and flexible. More than happy to work with your schedule! I live in a spacious one bedroom apartment with a fenced-in backyard. Would love to host your little fur babies at my place! In a clients home I will care for the client pets however they wish for me to do so. I follow all rules to the t.
About: I have 6 years of dog walking and cat sitting experience. I'm used to taking care of dogs of all sizes as well as puppies and their various needs. I just moved to New Haven and I'm looking to start caring for pets here! I will treat your pet the way I would treat my own and would make sure to care for them in a responsible manner. As a pet owner myself, I know how important responsible care is. I have two cats, so I totally understand the concerns when hiring a new person to care for your loved pet! Due to my cats, I'm not able to accept boarders at the moment, other than one small-medium dog (who is fine with cats) for weekends only. I am a local graduate student so I apologize in advance if I can't make certain requested times. I can't wait to work with you and your lovely pets! I am a full-time graduate student but have a flexible schedule. I do not have a car so would only be able to service requests in New Haven. I'm well aware of environmental risks associated with dogs and cats. I'm overly cautious about windows expecially with cats. In addition, I'm responsible with the environment that either puppies or kittens occupy; to not leave food around or small objects/threads that they may mistakenly ingest.
“Kiarra is fabulous. I contacted her last minute to let out my pup and she was there within an hour. Very reliable and sends good report/update of what’s going on!”
Wooster Square dog parents share their Rover experiences
Where do I begin, Lizzy was amazing…I had hip replacement surgery and Lizzy walked my boy Jack for over 2 weeks. Lizzy was easy to work with and made it easy for me to recover from my surgery and not stress on caring for Jack. She would feed him after his morning walk and doled out treats following his afternoon & evening walks. I have already referred several people in my building to Lizzy. I didn’t want to tell her but she she definitely be charging more 🤣 If you need a trustworthy person to care for your Furr babies then Lizzy is your girl.

As first time puppy parents, we felt a little anxious about hiring someone to help care for Milo, but Rick quickly calmed our nerves. He clearly prioritized our puppy’s comfort, asking plenty of great questions at the meet and greet. Rick was punctual, a reliable communicator, and took the cutest pics of Milo! We will be rebooking and highly recommend Rick without hesitation. :)

Aleeki is so kind and reliable! She’s taken care of my dog a few times now and every time she is so communicative. I had some last minute schedule changes last weekend and she really went above and beyond to make sure my girl was well cared for. I appreciate her so much!
Sophia is the best dog sitter and walker we have ever come across. She stayed at our place with our 11 year old Puggle, Finn, for 10 days while we were in Italy and we had absolutely no worries. She was so attentive and caring towards him, and always reached out to us with questions, updates and pictures. It’s very obvious that Sophia is a natural with animals and that they sense they can trust her. Recently, we had her watch/feed/walk both Finn and our daughter’s Australian Shepherd, Ava, who can be a handful around strangers and other dogs but Ava took to Sophia immediately. We trust Sophia implicitly and I think you will find that to be true, too. You’ll make the best decision by entrusting your pets in her care!
