“So happy to have found Lizzie to take care of my spoiled kitty. Communication was great while we were gone and my cat was perfectly happy when we got home. She is now my #1 go to cat sitter!”

“Last minute add but she did a great job taking care of my Bella!! Very much appreciated the daily updates knowing my old gal was getting lots of head scratches and love!!”

“Jeanette was fantastic with our three dogs. They lived her and she handled them all so well. Love the pictures she sent showing them enjoying their time with her. Thank you, Jeanette, we hope to have more opportunities to have your help.”
About: Friendly, caring, trustworthy, reliable dog sitter with years of personal experience! I grew up around multiple dogs and cats and have always loved caring for animals. I treat your dog as my own and make sure to give extra attention and love while staying with me. I work remotely, so I will spend the day with your loved one! I'm very communicative and will update you throughout the stay. Please note I have a 4 year old daughter around sometimes, so please child friendly dogs only! She is very respectful to dogs and cats, and respects boundaries when I tell her not to go near them while eating/playing with toys. I’m currently working remotely from home, so will have plenty of free time to walk your fur buddy! My daughter and I usually spend a few hours out during the day, but I’ll be cognizant of timing when dog sitting! I do not have any other pets, so you’ll be assured they’re top priority! I have a comfortable sized apartment with an outdoor balcony. The neighborhood is great for dog walking. I will not take your dog to the dog park for safety concerns.
“V is quickly becoming a part of our family and we love her so much. I feel very comforted to know that my dog is being checked on by her when I’m away for work. 5 stars, 10/10, A++ would recommend!”

“Jill ticked all the boxes for Louies stay, and then some! She went over the top and sent a very cute picture of Louie. I was at an outdoor concert when i saw it and couldnt help but show my whole family. Made me feel great Louie was so well taken care of. Thanks Jill!”

“Sarah is amazing with my two dogs, she is very reliable and prompt as a sitter with Rover. This was my first experience using Rover and it was a huge success. My four legged fur babies absolutely loved the e time she spent with them.”

About: I’ve owned pets my whole life, but really didn’t start feeling the weight of the responsibility until probably mid high school, when the reality of adult life was looming over my head! I have taken care of dogs ranging from the size of a tiny Chihuahua, to a large St Bernard (so much drool, so many big fluffy hugs!) I have experience with giving medication (even to the ones who might not like their meds), I LOVE teaching dogs new tricks and (as I have a 10 year old daughter and a 1 year old toddler) I have all the patience in the world to get them on track with that new trick! I don’t have an incredible way with words, and I don’t know how to be a convincing person over the internet, but I promise you that your fur babies are going to be nothing but loved, spoiled, and well taken care of when in my care 😊 I am a stay at home mom! On school days I’m usually only gone from the house for 10-15 minutes to take my 10 year old to and from school, but am usually free after that! If your pet enjoys car rides, I also love having a happy little companion sniffing some fresh air in the passenger seat or back seat! 😊 We have a bottom floor apartment with a patio that leads right out onto some grass for potty breaks. I also believe that your pets health is just as important as a humans, so while I do love to give treats and yummies it is ALWAYS in moderation and according to serving size on the bag, so there’s no worry that I’m going to be sliding them a slice of pizza or anything! If you need me to come to your home, I am a heavy rule follower, always have been and always will be, so as long as I have some instruction from your end on what you would like done, I will respectfully do what needs to be done for your fur baby!
“I have asked for Erich’s help watching my cat Yoko several times now, he is fantastic! Really great communication and is willing to help on short notice. Most importantly he takes great care of Yoko. Truly one of the best rover sitters I’ve ever used.”

“Sky took wonderful care of my baby while I was away. She provided fun, thoughtful overviews of each trip and took tons of photos to help let me feel connected. My cat approves wholeheartedly and so do I.”

About: I love animals, they just fill my heart! I have had a cat and two dogs of my own and also grew up always having animals! My first puppy was Fenway. I got him at 9 weeks and did all of the training and loving with my pup! Dylan was 3 when we adopted him and he was the best 110lb lap dog! Being able to give your pets love and exercise when you’re in need will fill my heart! I am a substitute teacher and a mom. I am looking for work this summer and ongoing with your furry babies! I love going on walks and playing with animals. I am available to house sit with your animals if you are needing to be away, while keeping them company and caring for them! Making sure your pet is comfortable and safe is #1! Depending on the age and ability of the dog depends on our walks and play time! I follow your instructions for your dog because you know them best! Cats get lots of snuggles, if they like that, as well as play time!
About: I have experience in giving pets medications weather its pills or injection. I have experience in elderly pets, I am very patient and very attentive, and I have great communication. I do pet care as my main job, so it fits in my day perfectly. Plus I can take the pet (s) with me when I have to leave the apartment for any length of time. I will always communicate with the owners before hand. I am VERY attentive to every pet/clients that I take care of. I always make sure to have some booties on hand. Depending on the weather, I always make sure the pet is in the shade, on the grass, or even some dirt. I make sure that I have extra pet rain gear as well
About: I started taking care of pets while I was in university, which helped me earn extra income and gain hands-on experience with animals. I studied psychology, and during my training I learned about classical and operant conditioning, which gave me a strong foundation in understanding both human and pet behavior. I have cared for dogs in New York and Portland, adapting to different routines, personalities, and environments. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m available every day, with the exception of Mondays through Fridays between 9am to 2pm. Outside of that window, I have flexible availability and can fully focus on the pets in my care. A typical day depends on the pet’s needs, but it usually includes morning and evening walks, feeding at their scheduled times, playtime, mental stimulation, and plenty of affection. I’m very attentive to routines, so I try to keep pets on a schedule that feels familiar and comforting to them. If I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to respect their space and follow all instructions closely so pets feel safe and relaxed in their own environment. I provide calm, structured, and loving care. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior, energy level, and signals so I can respond appropriately. I follow feeding instructions carefully, maintain clean spaces, and make sure pets get the right balance of activity and rest. Because of my background in psychology and behavioral conditioning, I’m especially mindful of positive reinforcement, routines, and reducing stress. I always prioritize safety, comfort, and emotional well-being.
About: I'm a positive reinforcement–based dog trainer. If you're working on training with your dog, I'm happy to reinforce those skills while you're away to help maintain the progress you've made. I'm comfortable with dogs of all ages, as well as dogs that may need a little extra patience or understanding. Every dog is different, and I think their care should reflect that. I'll tailor each visit to your dog's personality, routine, and needs. I have a flexible daytime schedule, which makes it easy to fit in walks and drop-in visits throughout the day. I'm usually able to accommodate a variety of times for either one-time visits or something more regular. My goal is to stick to your dog's normal schedule and routines as closely as possible. Just let me know what that looks like, and I'll make it happen. When I'm in your home, I follow the Scout motto: "Leave it better than you found it." I'll treat your home with the same care and respect I'd want someone to show mine.
About: Have owned dogs and cats since I was young, but especially dogs. I've potty trained and dealt with rescue dogs. Am very used to big dogs (3 german sheperds) Recently left part time job so I can give even more time to your pets! Even when working I would check in with animals 4-5 times a day. I acknowledge that animals get lonely to. Am used to walking our dogs for long walks, and very very experienced in tug of war and fetch. Our dogs get a healthy mixture of human foods proven to be good for animals.
“Absolutely amazing! She sent pictures of the pets and took care of the house. I was super anxious to leave all the pets and she made the week go by with ease. Will definitely book again!”

I also am a babysitter and the family’s have dogs that need to be taken care of while I’m gone as well! I currently am in the summer before going into my freshman year of college! That being said I have no job this summer and have a very free summer and schedule to take care of your pets. I would be open to hours of your liking and week days and weekends How a typically care day will look would be up to my client/you. I will just follow your likings of what you want your pet care to look like. V was the best dog sitter that we have used for our two dogs! She was incredibly thoughtful, communicative, and our girls absolutely adored her. We never had a doubt that they were in good hands and were able to enjoy our vacation knowing that the dogs were enjoying themselves as well. We plan on reaching out to V in the future for all of our dog sitting needs and you should definitely do the same!

Myr was fantastic! He went above and beyond to spend time with my cats and make sure they got attention while I was away. He provided timely and detailed updates and photos of every visit and was very responsive to messages. I will definitely rebook with him the next time I need a cat sitter.

Ashley was so good with drop-in visits for my two kitties! (I knew it was a perfect match during our meet-and-greet, when my normally shy Esme came right up to her.) Ashley took time to play with them during drop-ins and her photos of them being healthy and happy were so reassuring. Ashley is also amazing to work with — flexible when I needed and extra day. She's a great communicator and just a great human. It's hard to leave Zeke and Esme when I travel, but I know they're in great hands with Ashley.

Madelyne was communicative and clearly cared not only about the wellbeing of the animals but about their comfort as well. everything was in tip-top shape upon my return, which as anyone who has left their beloved pets over an extended holiday knows is such a relief to be able to step into a house without surprises. Would highly recommend you book with Madelyne if her availability aligns with yours and you need someone who is consistent, communicative, and caring.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
