“Shelby did a wonderful job looking after our kitties! She even went above and beyond cleaning up after a few unexpected messes and taking care of our deliveries. We'd recommend Shelby any time!”

About: As a lifelong pet owner, I understand that every pet deserves patience, attention, and a safe, comfortable place to stay. My home features a large, fully fenced backyard with plenty of room to play, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. Whether you're traveling, working long hours, or simply need someone you can trust, I'll care for your pet as if they were my own. My goal is to provide a stress-free, home-like environment where your furry family member feels loved, secure, and right at home while you're away. I work a remote job and have flexible hours. This allows me to leave for mid day walks, jogs, or potty breaks, whatever your pups needs. I have always enjoyed opening our house up to fury visitors. We (my almost 14 year old) and I enjoy the company. I have a fully fenced yard that is about 7500 sf, lots of room to run around and play. I do have a couple fences that are shorter (3.5'/4'). I have pictures of our sweet Blanche, we lost her late last year and currently do not have any pets in the house. We do have chickens but they will remain in the coop.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats for over 20 years and currently have 2 very friendly cats named toothless and simba who love to play. I’m able to give your dog or cat all the attention needed, and they would never be unattended. Just tell me about their usual day and we’ll make it happen! Looking forward to meeting your furry family member, and I’ll love them like they’re my own! I work from home so I’m pretty flexible with times and days. Both week and weekend availability. I just need a 1 day notice. Your pets will feel safe with me and get lots of extra attention while you are away. If your pet has any special needs, please let me know.
“I have asked for Erich’s help watching my cat Yoko several times now, he is fantastic! Really great communication and is willing to help on short notice. Most importantly he takes great care of Yoko. Truly one of the best rover sitters I’ve ever used.”

About: I'm a positive reinforcement–based dog trainer. If you're working on training with your dog, I'm happy to reinforce those skills while you're away to help maintain the progress you've made. I'm comfortable with dogs of all ages, as well as dogs that may need a little extra patience or understanding. Every dog is different, and I think their care should reflect that. I'll tailor each visit to your dog's personality, routine, and needs. I have a flexible daytime schedule, which makes it easy to fit in walks and drop-in visits throughout the day. I'm usually able to accommodate a variety of times for either one-time visits or something more regular. My goal is to stick to your dog's normal schedule and routines as closely as possible. Just let me know what that looks like, and I'll make it happen. When I'm in your home, I follow the Scout motto: "Leave it better than you found it." I'll treat your home with the same care and respect I'd want someone to show mine.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Norwood
Brayden was wonderful with our pups! You could tell he genuinely cared about them and made the most of each of their hour-long drop-in visits. He was great about communicating with us and always sent updates and pictures, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our pups were completely conked out after their visits, so we knew they had gotten plenty of exercise, attention, and enrichment. We also had the chance to meet Sara beforehand, and both she and Brayden were great to work with. We would absolutely book with them again!

Shelby was so great! My previous pet care fell through last minute and Shelby was very responsive and came to do a meet-and-greet with my senior kitty Aries. Shelby was very professional and took amazing care of my shy and timid kitty, could not recommend her more!

Roger and his family took wonderful care of our cat while we were gone. They are trustworthy, reliable, friendly and a very caring family. They took daily pictures and videos and they were very observant as to describing our kitty's behavior and idiosyncrasies. We are so happy to have found them. I would highly recommend them.

We can't say enough good things about our experience working with Deborah! This was our first big trip since one of our cats went through some serious health scares this year, so we were anxious about leaving them for this extended trip. After meeting Deborah though, it became clear that she is such a thoughtful, caring cat sitter and that we'd have nothing to worry about. The cats were immediately at ease with her, and she was so committed to understanding our cats' specific needs (including giving meds, tracking weight, and working with our vet tech to administer subcutaneous fluids). During the trip she sent us regular detailed updates and made sure to ask questions whenever any of the directions we left were unclear. We loved receiving so many wonderful photos and videos of the cats playing with Deborah - it allowed us to fully enjoy our time with family seeing how much love and care our kitties were getting over the holidays (especially our one cat that is typically so shy with new people!). Returning home, it's as if we never left. The kitties were so relaxed (clearly having received so much love and attention from Deborah) and the home was neat and tidy. Our medically challenged boy somehow had more energy than before we left! Whether you have young or senior kitties, and whether you need drop-in visits or long-term care, we can't recommend Deborah enough. She is truly a cat whisperer, and we are so grateful we found her! We will 100% be asking her for help again during any future travel. Thank you for everything Deborah!

We are very pleased with Aleen's care of our cat Tulip. While Tulip was pretty timid, Aileen was making progress with her by the time we returned. I found Aileen to perfectly follow the feeding and litterbox instructions I left her (believe me, I've had some epic fails in the past with other services). A huge thank you to Aileen from me and Tulip.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
