“Every time we leave town, I can’t count the number of times our family says, “we are so thankful we have Suzanne!”. The peace of mind, when leaving town, is priceless. We know, without a doubt, that our little Shih Tzu Milo is receiving top notch care from Suzanne. Not only does she love on him and give him tons of attention, he is also having a great time playing with other dogs. Milo has dietary restrictions and Suzanne ensures he eats separately from the other dogs so that he doesn’t eat anything he is not supposed to. Our boy is almost 3 and has been with Suzanne since he was a pup. Our last dog Ace, was also a frequent at her house. Suzanne is just a lovely person that might actually like dogs even more than me (and I like them A LOT 😂). Her whole house is geared for dogs, including multiple lounging spots throughout the house, toys, dog stairs and her backyard is dog proof. I love that she only watches small dogs so I don’t have to worry about a larger dog accidentally hurting him. Suzanne is amazing at sending daily updates in addition to action photo shots of Milo throughout the day. We always get very excited when we see a new message from Suzanne while we are gone. About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for friends, family and neighbors. I also have volunteered at a local dog rescue, and I would walk dogs. I also volunteered for a cat shelter where I would clean and assist in enrichment activities for the cats. I am currently working a remote part time job. About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.

I feel that walks are not just necessary for their relief but also to maintain their physical and mental well-being. “I cannot thank Katie and her family enough for their excellent care of our labradoodle Olive while we were out of town for a week. Katie met Olive before the trip, sincerely inquiring about her likes and dislikes. She was on time to pick up Olive and cared about transporting her safely. During the stay Katie sent me pictures and daily communication about Olive's time at her house. All I can say is that Olive was treated like a Queen. She had daily exercise, was well fed (with the food we provided) and most importantly given lots of love. I know Olive would gladly go back to stay with Katie and her family the next time we travel. “Our very active and high energy pup did her first overnight boarding with Mersal and everything worked out great! We had previously done daycare but was anxious about leaving her overnight but Mersal was great to work with. Mersal was quick to respond and sent many pictures and videos to update us!! “Liz was incredibly accommodating and super responsive to all of our questions and needs. She was very helpful with our pup, and it gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Our pup seemed to have a wonderful time playing with the other dogs and spending time at her home during our vacation. Liz checked in frequently and kept us updated on how he was doing, which we really appreciated. It’s clear she genuinely cares, and we’re very grateful for the great care she provided. “Katie was fantastic. This was a great first time user experience. During the meet and greet, Katie's easygoing attitude made me comfortable with leaving my fairly new adopted dog in her care. The fact that she showed a clear understanding of hound dog behavior was the icing on the cake. She was very flexible with my schedule change on drop off and pickup. She went above and beyond by letting me pick my doggo up at a really late hour of the day. Her quick pics and updates on Chloe during her stay was just right. Chloe was very happy with her experience and we will definitely use Katie in the future! Thank you for taking care of Chloe!”

“Jami has watched our energetic 3-yr old Husky Shepherd mix, Nori, many times. She basically provides the doggie equivalent of summer sleep away camp and Nori comes back ALL smiles! Jami is an excellent communicator and sends lots of photos/videos which put us at ease when we’re out of town. I’d highly recommend her for any families whose dog’s idea of a good time involves lots of puppy play time!”
