“Brooke was great! Sent us texts and pics of Cosette and assured us Cosette was doing well! Difficult to find a pet sitter that you feel very comfortable with and know that your beloved pet is in good hands! We did!!!”

“Hannah was so kind and sweet with Bowie. I can tell that she really loves animals. He had a wonderful time, and we felt great knowing that he was with someone that really made sure he felt safe and cared for.”

“Christina was fantastic! Zoe loved spending time with her, and we appreciated the photo updates while we were gone. We don't need boarding very often, but next time we do, we will absolutely use Christina again. Thank you so much!”
“Danielle cared for our dog River for an entire week at her house. River is a young, very high energy dog and Danielle did a great job handling him, especially with the other dogs that were staying with her. Her communication is excellent and we received pictures and texts daily. She has a beautiful, wide open space for the dogs to run off leash. I would not hesitate to leave your dog with Danielle!”

“My dog and I were immediately comfortable with Michele. She went above and beyond to exercise Wilson and keep him entertained. I got multiple updates and he looks so happy. We recently lost our other best dog friend of 14 years it's such a relief to have a compassionate competent caretaker to help keep my Wilson 3 years old feeling attended to and not alone.”

“Ruchi was amazing with Frida! This was my first time leaving Frida with a pet sitter, so I was a little nervous, but Ruchi made the whole experience so much easier. She was very patient with Frida, especially at the beginning when she was a little nervous and unsure about being in a new place. Ruchi kept me updated throughout her stay, and it was so nice to see Frida becoming more and more comfortable with her and her family. When I picked Frida up, she was happy to see me, but she was also clearly very happy and comfortable with Ruchi. She even went back to her almost as if she was saying thank you and goodbye, which made me feel really good about leaving her there. Ruchi and her family are truly dog lovers, and you can tell they are very knowledgeable and experienced with dogs. I felt like Frida was in very good hands. I would definitely book with Ruchi again and highly recommend her! ❤️🐾”

“Hannah and her partner watched my dog in their home over the weekend. I felt totally comfortable leaving my dog with her; he settled right in to her calm home, enjoying the dog toys she had prepared. She handled his special medication needs and physical restrictions with ease, and I can tell he received lots of love and attention during his stay.”

“Sarah was very communicative and sent lots of photos. I was also so glad my dog Nova was able to run around and play a bunch with their dog Roxy while I was away. Thanks again!”

About: I’ve had pets of all kinds of decades - from dogs and cars and bunnies to chicken and horses and cows. I currently have my own to rescue fur babies - Paka a 13 year old tabby cat and Philo a 2 year old Bernese mountain dog. I’d love to help you take care of your pets as well! I work remotely and part-time so I like to walk dogs (any my cat who likes to join her giant little brother on walks) in the morning, at lunch, and in the evenings. I can’t board cats because my Tabby does not like other feline friends and I can only board dogs who are used to cats and okay with other dogs. Philo is very sweet and a gentle companion for nervous dogs. We take walks every 4-5 hours.
“Matt accepted our last-minute boarding request and took excellent care of our high-maintenance dog for an entire weekend. We appreciated how he accommodated her eccentric behavior with a smile, and we look forward to booking him again!”

“Rocket had a blast with Eric! Communication was excellent throughout the process, and we felt totally relaxed knowing he was being well cared for. Would definitely book with Eric again!”

“Daniel helped take care of Emily for two days when I was away. He was very professional throughout the whole process and apparently Emily liked Daniel. Daniel responded my request promptly and was punctual while picking up and dropping off Emily. He was very thoughtful to bring dog treats the first time to meet Emily and updated Emily's information every evening to let me know how Emily was doing. He asked question if felt uncertain to make sure my dog not nervous in a new place. Daniel works during the daytime but I think he told me his roommate working at home and was able to take care of Emily to make sure she had enough walk time in a day. My dog was back home full of energy and I could tell she enjoyed staying at Daniel's place! I would highly recommend to choose Daniel for his professional attitude and high-quality care for dogs!”

“Aaron was a great fit for our dog - Miso loved spending the week with him. It took a few days for Miso to adjust to his first ever sitter and Aaron handled it well - checking in with us when he noticed that Miso wasn't eating and seemed a little home sick. By the end of the week, Miso seemed to be having a great time. Aaron sent pictures and updates throughout the week, which was really appreciated. We would highly recommend Aaron. He was open to meeting with us before we left on vacation and asked great questions (vet info, local contacts, likes and dislikes, etc). We usually leave Miso at a boarder, but since our trip was going to be longer than usual we were hoping to find someone local that could give Miso more personal attention and affection - Aaron made us feel comfortable leaving Miso with him for an extended period of time. Thanks for taking such good care of Miso for us, Aaron!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care Gabby provided. I 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and loving to take care of their furry family member. Gabby is incredibly kind, friendly, and easy to communicate with. She sent me daily photos and updates, which gave me peace of mind knowing my puppy was happy and well cared for. I would absolutely trust Gabby with my dog again in the future. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my little one!☺️”

“Sarah and her boyfriend are wonderful care takers! She sent me daily pictures while I was out and her adorable dog Lincoln played with Nala everyday! It made me happy to know she was having such a great time. In the event of an emergency, they are very accommodating and helpful”

My dog had the BEST time during her recent stay with Natalie and Patrick. She played, she swam, she walked in the woods, she got treats, she was doted upon, and she was thoroughly and entirely taken care of. It was wonderful to know she was in great hands and having such a good time. Natalie and Patrick, thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
