“We had a sitter back out last minute with a trip we had booked for a couple of months. We have a young, anxious, high strung dog and we were worried about leaving him somewhere that’s too stimulating, like a kennel. We were traveling from Maine to Vermont so I decided to try Rover and see if somebody could watch him for us in the city we were staying in, so we could be available if there was a problem. Paul responded quickly and accepted Bjorn’s stay within five days of the trip. We kept Bjorn during the day but we dropped him off in the evenings. Paul was quick to respond in all communications about Bjorn, whether it be about drop off/pick up, care, questions about how he was doing. He even problem solved when Bjorn was too nervous to use the bathroom, and asked me for tips when he was struggling to eat. We also got pictures throughout his stay. He made me feel super comfortable leaving my nervous baby with him and didn’t make us feel like Bjorn was too much (which I know he is). We appreciated Paul’s care of Bjorn so much, it really took the stress off during our trip.”

If your pup is crate trained, I’m happy to crate them when needed, or they can relax in a cozy dog bed for bedtime. And if your dog is used to extra snuggles and sleeping close to their humans, we don’t mind cuddles in bed either — we want them to feel as comfortable and at home as possible. “Aaron was a great fit for our dog - Miso loved spending the week with him. It took a few days for Miso to adjust to his first ever sitter and Aaron handled it well - checking in with us when he noticed that Miso wasn't eating and seemed a little home sick. By the end of the week, Miso seemed to be having a great time. Aaron sent pictures and updates throughout the week, which was really appreciated. We would highly recommend Aaron. He was open to meeting with us before we left on vacation and asked great questions (vet info, local contacts, likes and dislikes, etc). We usually leave Miso at a boarder, but since our trip was going to be longer than usual we were hoping to find someone local that could give Miso more personal attention and affection - Aaron made us feel comfortable leaving Miso with him for an extended period of time. About: Hi there! My name is Ally (they/them) and I am an experienced doggy day care employee and groomer-in-training looking for flexible pet care opportunities while finishing up school. In addition to having cared for pets most of my life, I have extensive professional experience caring for, mediating behavior of, feeding, and administering medications to up to 100 or more dogs at a time! I would be more than happy to train your puppy, show your senior pet some love and comfort, or spend some quality with your kitty! While my work experience is primarily with dogs, I love pets of all kinds, and would be so excited to care for any pet, no matter how “unusual” (snakes, lizards, spiders, insects, rodents, birds, etc.) I look forward to getting to know you and your pets! As a student I have a lot to do in a day, so drop in visits/walks are ideal, but house sitting is a viable option as well! How I plan on caring for your pet is primarily determined by client instruction. I will do my best to care for your baby the same way you would! I prefer to use positive reinforcement for training or behavior modification, and I like to keep feeding and medication schedules quite consistent. I also really enjoy sending lots of photo check ins! I feel most comfortable when you and your pets feel most comfortable, and it’s incredibly important to me to establish a relationship built on mutual trust. To me, your home is a workplace environment, and will be treated with the same respect.
