“Ella was an amazing sitter, took extra time & care to get to know our babies' little quirks. She followed all our instructions and was quick to respond with communication. Definitely recommend!”

“Daniel's been training Clea (and me) as well as walking her, he's attentive and kind and loving. She's a very sweet dog who means well and learns quickly, but she can get carried away - his presence in her life has made a big, calming difference. Thank you Daniel.”

“Ashley has watched my cat several times now and I feel totally at ease every time! I appreciate the cute and funny photos, updates on how my cat wanted to spend their visits together, and priceless peace of mind that Ashley is looking out for not only my cat but also my home. Highly recommend!!”

“It was my first time using Rover and I was a bit anxious, but Heidi was lovely and very reliable. I can tell she’s a pro and my cats were well taken care of. Will definitely book again!”

About: My family has had dogs since I was 14. Out first dog was a German Shepard and second a German Shepard/Husky mix. Currently my Sheppard Husky mix resides in North Carolina staying with my mother as we were worried how he would do with a big move. I have always loved dogs and their companionship. It would be a privilege to take care of another’s fur baby. I currently have the sweetest little dachshound that I rescued in September of 2024 and we have been inseparable ever since, he is truly my child. I take my dog Beanie on longer walks about 2x a day and shorter ones through the day. I am mostly available on Fridays and weekends and after 5pm on Monday - Thursday My yard is not fenced in but there are many dog parks and safe places to play in my neighborhood. I love taking long walks and they are even better with a fiery companion.
About: I have a great amount of experience with animals. I have cared for Bunnies,Rats, Birds, Reptiles, Cats and dogs as well. I’m familiar with treating senior dogs and cats. As well as younger animals. I’ve had animals my entire life. Starting May 15th. I will have a flexible availability. I would fit pet sitting into my daily/ weekly routine but ensuring all animals are fed and have water. I will give them some play time. If walks are needed I will ensure I arrive earlier to give any dogs walks. I have two cats. Athena and Vixen Both girls are on a strict routine. They get fed wet food twice a day and dry food once. Their wet food includes multivitamins, probiotics and allergy medications. Both cats have separate diets that best suit their needs. I ensure all things for them are done before starting my day. e.i Litterboxes, water refills, medications, food and play time. Upon arriving home I greet them and play for about 30min-1hr.
“Charlotte did a great job checking in on my cat Ash over a weekend. She provided frequent updates and communication was easy. Would definitely recommend her and will keep her in mind for the future!”

About: I've had pets for a majority of my life and am deeply passionate about animals! I have pet sat for several friends, family friends, and family members. I view pets as a big part of the family and believe they deserve just as much care as any other family member. I currently work full time. But I am available Monday-Friday (overnight/ Before 9am/after 5pm, overnight/midday potty breaks) and Saturdays & Sundays (overnight/full availability). I am also happy to make exceptions on a case by case basis. I do not offer pet boarding in my home. But can and will care for your fur baby however you need me to while I'm housesitting for you!
“Jamie has been a great support in the past, and similarly did well with her care of my little dog this time around! The only issue that came about was communication, but such was improved upon during our booking dates. Overall, she is a great sitter who displays good care and expertise with watching over my little old dog, and I would definitely recommend her :)”
“I have many thanks to give Felipe for how he cared for our pup. His communication was excellent, he was prompt, and truly seemed to enjoy spending time with our dog. I’m already planning to ask if he’s available for a few others dates this summer!”

“Christine has dropped in on my previous dear (now over the rainbow bridge) cat, and we are so thrilled to continue using her for our new fur baby! She is super quick to respond, very friendly, reliable, and most of all I know she will give Muffin some sweet extra love. (Plus we get great photos.) Recommend her anyone looking for a pet sitter to trust and rely on.”

“Christine is very sweet and kind. She was very gentle with my 15 year old girl and accommodating to her needs. She is very prompt with scheduled times almost to the minute. I trust Christine fully and am confident in the care she gives to my precious girl!”

“Amalia was absolutely fantastic!! She came out to meet my dog ahead of time and I could tell right away that my dog was going to be in good hands. She provided me updates and photos, and went above and beyond to provide excellent service. Would absolutely hire Amalia again!!”

About: I am a very caring and attentive individual paired with a deep affection for animals. I will take care of your baby as I do my own. Your pet will be safe, happy and healthy with me! I have a full time job during the week and occasionally work a side job on weekends. I have a very flexible schedule and love to walk! I will care for your animal in your home exactly as needed, making sure they are provided with everything they need and maybe an extra treat or two!
About: Past work experience at a small-but-mighty no-kill shelter (Animal Resource Center in Bloomsburg, PA). Over the years, I've lost count of how many times I've played Fairy Dogmother, but I truly never get tired of it. Pets are family, and when folks entrust me with caring for their babies while they're away, I take that seriously! In addition to work experience, I'm a past volunteer for Charleston Animal Society, and my own dog, Zelda, and I are a certified therapy dog team with Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD). My work is fully remote and I'm fortunate to have some autonomy in how I structure my day, so I can generally be fully present and swiftly responsive to your pet's needs. (My partner works in-office, so I may occasionally need to pop home to attend to my own pup's meals or potty breaks.) All Charleston Animal Society volunteers who wish to work directly with adoptable dogs must take a short safety course, and I've successfully passed this with flying colors. I'm experienced with administering oral medications. At the moment, I'm training for an ultramarathon, so if your pup is high-energy, you've come to the right place.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Burlington
Imagine an ornery old lady cat who doesn't like anyone but her mom. Now imagine she's wearing a cone for the entire time her mom is away. AND her mom is nervous as heck about leaving her! That's what Blakely dealt with tending to my little monkey. They are a rockstar cat sitter. Kept me and my loved ones in the loop the ENTIRE time I was away. I felt so confident and comfortable knowing Blakely was watching my girl. Even though my kitty is very opinionated and has quite the stinker streak, they handled her perfectly. It was a relief to be able to go away and not worry! THANK YOU BLAKELY!

Christine was amazing!! It always feels so good to leave a pet in the capable hands of a friendly, caring person. She was on time and followed instructions - with a puppy that can be a challenge at times so I truly appreciate the effort. Thanks so much- I will definitely reach out again if I need help with Zoey again

Kasey is our go-to sitter to watch out cat. She’s always so great at communicating with usa sn keeping us updated with everything going on at home, and I also know our cat adores her, so I’m always comfortable going on vacation knowing Zoey will have a friend to hang out with and watch the birds.

Victoria was wonderful with my two dogs while we were away at wedding events for two days. My dog Ruby is a bit timid around new people, but Victoria won her over quickly with treats and affection. Victoria came by for an hour each day to feed and spend time with them, and she stayed the entire hour, which we deeply appreciated. She is reliable, caring, and highly recommended!
Kristy was great with my two cats. She made friends with my older cat immediately when she stopped by to get instructions. And my younger cat who usually takes quite awhile to warm up to new people came out during her very first drop-in visit with them. I could tell from the pictures she sent that he wasn't even nervous. She was very communicative and left detailed notes about her visits. I plan to book her again in the future and definitely recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
