“Marti did a great job watching my cats for a week. I couldn’t be happier she communicated often. I will absolutely book her again. She took excellent care of my animals and even my most anxious cat was comfortable with her. I highly recommend Marti”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats, young and senior for 25+ years. Your pet will be family to me. And will be loved and cared for very well. In addition, I’m neat and clean. You’re home will also be well cared for. I’m presently not working. So, I will be with your pet 24/7. I like to snuggle with my pets and hope your pet will enjoy snuggling with me. I LOVE dogs and cats! Your pet will be treated as if my own. Walks and snuggles and snacks (if you permit) will be plentiful. I’m a low key, quiet person. So your pet does not have to be fearful of me.
“Jackie stayed the night with both of our larger dogs on a holiday. Her communication was fantastic and she was also happy to meet the dogs before officially scheduling the stay. Would book again!”

“Abigail was amazing with my 3 crazy pups! We needed someone last minute to watch our dogs for our wedding and Abigail did a meet and greet and my dogs loved her! My boy is very anxious and ended up loving her! We really appreciated her and will be using her in the future anytime we need someone!”

“Haley took care of our dogs while we were on vacation. We were able to fully relax and enjoy our time because she went so above and beyond with our girls! They were spoiled and cared for at the highest degree. She is a wonderful resource and person that we trust completely. She will be our go to for everything. Can't recommend her enough!”

“Rachel was very responsive and took wonderful care of our pups while we were away. They warmed up to her almost immediately, and she sent a lot of updates and photos so we didn't feel any anxiety about how they were doing. We will absolutely go with her in the future for any trips we have coming up!”

“Judith treated our pup, Rayne, with all the attention she has been craving since our son was born! She also treated our elusive outdoor cat and many plants with the utmost care. We will definitely rebook Judith if she is available the next time we need a house sitter for our fur and plant babies!!”

“Alyssa was great with our dogs! We went away for two nights and didn't worry at all about leaving them. The amount of communication and pictures was perfect. We will definitely be using Alyssa's services again in the future!”

“Kendra was awesome! My dog can definitely be high maintenance at times but Kendra took great care of her, kept me updated while I was away, and took my pup on lots of adventures!”

“Would absolutely recommend Forest as a sitter! Max was comfortable and happy while we were away. Max even followed him to the door while he was leaving, a little sad to see his new friend go!”

About: I have aided in training both of our German shorthaired pointers growing up as well as a go-to pet carer and walker when close friends and family are on vacation or cannot get away from the office. I take time out of my day to do this for my current family & friends so I am used to making the pets a priority because that time of their day I get to spend with them is very crucial to their happiness since their owner cannot be there. I take pride in being chosen to be a part of different pets lives and have a vast experience with different breeds (aussies, bulldogs, labs, and cats are just to name a few!) Looking forward to chatting soon!! Pet care fits into my routine pretty frequently. I have an hour of lunch time to myself and use that to be able to let pets out and if the owner requests to stay with them a big longer, I do & finish up some work there if possible. Getting out at 5 p.m. every day is a benefit to the pets I go let out and spend time with because the rest of the night I am free. My availability is Monday-Sunday! I care for the pets with mostly the instructions the owner gives like if they need fed or not etc but I always always always make sure to play with them, give them pets, and make sure they are used to me before anything else. If they have a fenced in yard I will play with them but in other cases when the dog is staying in my house with me, I always give them walks throughout the day as well as bring them to a cages in dog park near my house so they can roam free a bit without the leash.

About: My mother had a boarding company so I spent a lot of my childhood helping care for all the doggos. I have also volunteered at numerous shelters & farm sanctuaries & have helped care for even more than just cats & dogs. I also have an 8 year old chocolate lab & 2 five year old kitties myself that I love & care for every day. I am currently working part time, with availability anytime after 4 pm Monday through Thursday! In the next 3 weeks my availability will open up a little bit more! I was raised around both cats & dogs & have a very good understanding of how to read both animals. I have a very soft calm aura as well as a lot of love & patience to build trust with the fur babies.
“Mia was dig- whisperer with my new rescue, Remy. He barked incessantly when they met and was kissing her by the Time I got home. She took great care of the menagerie and sent great pics.”

“Just finished a 2 week house-sitting booking with Samara for our cat and our 2 (very) elderly dogs. We always use Samara for these long vacation trips as she does a great job of taking care of the animals, especially as they require a lot of care as they are getting older, along with keeping the house in tip top shape.”

“Allison was absolutely amazing. When I came home, I didn’t even know she was in my home. Everything was exactly the way I left it. She took very good care of my dog. She kept in contact with me and answered my text messages within 10 minutes. She even took the garbage out to the garage!! There was no dirty dishes, even in my dishwasher as I said it didn’t even look like she was here. There was no poop in my backyard. She’s amazing”

“Katie was amazing! She watched my dog, Molly, for the day. Katie was very accommodating to my schedule, communicated effectively and most importantly kept Molly happy and safe! I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: All 3 of my animals I've owned throughout my life have lived full, happy lives. They also, however, required close supervision. Both cats were outdoor cats which required consistent grooming, tick repellant, and even medicine administration for when they ate something they shouldn't have, or developed infections (administering pills to a cat is a skill I'm proud to put on my resume.) My dog Connor developed an autoimmune disease, and required prednisone administration daily. He was also a very reactive dog to other dogs, so those behaviors I am very well-versed in handling. The same can be said for my partner's family's two dogs (black lab mix and white Dogo Argentino), and my sister's pug mix. Dogs are reactive for a reason and I do not judge them for it, I'm happy to accommodate their predispositions. I work completely remote (and to be truthful it's a pretty chill job day to day) so I'd consider myself the best option as someone who has a full time job outside of Rover! Plus, I love the company of pet sitting during the week. I'm of the belief that cats and dogs belong on the couch and the bed, so in my home they are allowed wherever they please. That being said, if you have more strict rules for your animals either inside my home or yours, I completely understand and have no problem carrying out your wishes (obviously.) My care style is attentive. I know that's another obvious answer, but I've always loved interacting with animals, playing with them, etc. It makes me happy.
“Laura is an awesome dog sitter! She stayed in our house with our anxious dog two times now for multiple days and we’ve come back to a very happy dog each time! She keeps in touch and sends us pictures which we appreciate very much! I highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Williamsville
Tatyana was absolutely incredible house-sitting Doobie and Milo for a week! Doobie suffers from anxiety, so I am always extra nervous leaving him, but Tatyana completely set my mind at ease. She was incredibly patient and understanding of his needs, and she kept their normal routine perfectly. I received regular updates and photos showing both Doobie and Milo looking completely relaxed at home. I returned to happy dogs and a spotless house. I cannot recommend her enough!"

Forest and I had an initial meet and greet with my two dogs and an overview of my home since he would be taking care of both for over two weeks. His experience and work/life met my needs for the stay. He is very responsive to texts, sent some pics so I could see my dogs that I missed so much on my trip. I had every confidence that the dogs and my house was taken care of and that is a lot, I don't trust many people to take care of my dogs aside from family. I will book him again for future trips.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Williamsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Williamsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Williamsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Williamsville. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 87% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
