“Gillian helped a lot checking in on our cats while we were away. We do recommend her as a visiting pet sitter, and will for sure consider her help again next time we’re off for vacation.”

“Lynette was amazing with our two cats. She was professional, compassionate, and so sweet. She went out of her way to pick up our keys. This was our first trip leaving our cats over night and she put us at ease with detailed updates and lots of adorable pictures. We really appreciate her caring for our fluffy monsters and definitely recommend her!”

About: I have many years of experience working with animals not only from having them in my home since I was a child and owning them myself. I currently work and have worked at several jobs with different animals that were paid, internships, and volunteer. I own or have owned, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, turtles, guinea pigs, goats, and mini pigs. When I was in my senior year of high school, I only had 1 class left to take to graduate and the rest of the time I interned at the local veterinary clinic. After being there for 3 days, they offered me a job. I worked there in the evenings after school. I was able to participate in routine and emergency appointments, observe surgeries, and assist with a variety of laboratory test, such as blood tests. I volunteered at the local animal shelter where I ensured they had a clean and healthy environment for rehabilitation by cleaning cages and had toys for enrichment. I also socialized dogs, and cats in the shelter, by taking them for walks and playing with them and I volunteered at two different rescues, one was for horse rescue and the other for parrots. When I graduated high school, during college I volunteered at the local humane society where I aided in the socialization of stray, abused, abandoned, and surrendered cats and dogs. I currently work part-time as an Animal Control Officer in another state where I perform investigations, explain local laws, codes, and ordinances relating to the care and control of animals and issue citations for violations. I capture stray and unlicensed animals, transport injured animals and provide for their care. I also maintain records and reports related to work performed. I currently volunteer at a local animal shelter where I assist with caring for the dogs, cats, and small animals. I am willing to work with any animal. Caring for them is my true passion. I have plenty of time to take care of your pet! I am available during the week and weekends. My schedule is flexible so I will be able to customize my schedule to fit your needs. I will follow all instructions my client’s request for the care of their pets. This will ensure they feel their pets are comfortable and safe with me.
“Candice did an excellent job! I was especially impressed with how hard she tried (and succeeded!) to get my one cat to eat his medicated food. She genuinely seemed to care about my babies and their wellbeing. She also provided very thorough notes on the visit and lots of good pictures! Would definitely book her again.”

“Lisa did a great job helping us taking care of my cat Jasper the 2nd time. She was able to identify an ant problem we had and resolve it to her best ability. Very happy with the help she provided.”

“Cathy took care of our cat for a week while we were on vacation. She did a fantastic job, sent us updates and pictures of our fur baby everyday. Would recommend for anyone looking for a pet sitter!”

“Rene was lovely. She was kind, timely, responsive, and I very much trusted her with my cat. My cat was a brat, and she was very sweet about the situation. I would absolutely book her again and recommend her to anyone in need of a pet sitter.”

“I can’t recommend Samantha highly enough! From start to finish, she was dependable, friendly, clearly cared about my two kitties and took the time to build a real bond with them. When the app wasn’t accessible, she was incredibly accommodating and kept in touch over email without missing a beat. I received videos and daily photos, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. I’ll absolutely be booking again, and I’d trust her with my kitties anytime.”

“She took care of my Kitties last minute, and one of them I adopted a week ago and they weren't quite on hospitable terms yet. She allowed them to interact gently while being ready to separate in case of throwing paws. She also followed special feeding directions for my elderly cat who needs stuff mixed in and her pate in an extra soupy mash.”

“Stephanie is amazing! She is the most reliable rover I have ever had! She is super good with our almost 2 year old golden retriever who can be very high energy! She stays with him and plays and make sure he gets all the love and exercise he needs. I trust her very much with our pup and would definitely recommend!”

“Eva was great! We really appreciated the photos & reports that came with each visit, and our kitty seemed to really enjoy the attention Eva gave her. She’s dependable and a great communicator. We will certainly engage her again in the future!”

“Becca did a great job with my excitable Beagle and my very shy cat. You can tell that she loves animals, and the fur girls loved her instantly -- which made it much easier to leave them for a couple of days. I will ask her to help me again whenever I need to go away.”

About: I have two cats of my own, I have been cat sitting for friends/family/neighbors for 12+ years. I also have been volunteering with local animal shelters in the cat rooms since 2018. I currently work a school schedule, so I have a lot of flexibility during the summer! A couple of days a week I see clients in the evenings, but can adjust my schedule to meet the needs of your fur babies. I am always very respectful of the fur baby’s home (we humans don’t actually own our homes- they do!). Having an owner away is stressful, so I make sure to move at the pace of your baby. Through my experiences with volunteering at different animal shelters, pet sitting, and owning both cats and dogs of my own, I am able to read body language well to provide an stress-free environment. While you are away, your babies are my babies!
The median cost per visit for cat sitting in Wildcat Forest is $20
Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Wildcat Forest
Candice is excellent; she takes great care of our 17-yr old cat with all his food and water needs and sends detailed updates with great pictures of each visit plus everything is always clean when we return. Always glad and less worry when we have had her several times and are never disappointed.

Dee Dee saved our vacation as she was able to watch our cat last-minute on a holiday weekend after our care fell through. She was responsive to my messages and provided excellent care to our cat, who was being left home alone for the first time. While he was slightly annoyed at us for leaving, he was well fed and emotionally and physically stimulated while we were away, as demonstrated by how put together and not destroyed our house was when we returned. We will definitely use Dee Dee again when we go out of town!

Lynette took care of 3 of my cats. One needed eye drops, one needed pills and the third just needed lovies. She did a good job at administrating the medicine! My cats were happy overall and were taken care of very well. Food, water, litter were cleaned at a timely manner. She provided written update each visit with lots of pictures too! Thank you!

Vanessa took great care of our 3 cats while we were away! She's very thorough, detail-oriented, and clearly cares about animals. Our cats are normally skittish around new people, but she took the time to befriend them with treats and they really warmed up to her! Will definitely be asking her to pet sit again.

Felicia was amazing! She was super sweet, trustworthy and stopped in to check on my two cats 3 times while I was on an extended vacation. She gave detailed reports of her visits including what she did (changed water, food, litter, etc) and sent lots of cute pictures, my tom cat really took a liking to her. I would definitely hire her again!

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
