About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s been surrounded by dogs and cats my entire life. Caring for animals has always been a passion of mine, and I’m currently going to school to become a professional dog trainer. Because of my flexible school schedule, I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention, exercise, and love they deserve. For the past 11 months, I’ve worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility, where I’ve gained hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. My job has taught me how to safely handle group play, recognize canine body language, administer basic care, and ensure every dog feels comfortable and secure. I’m currently going to school to become a professional dog trainer. Because of my flexible school schedule, I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention, exercise, and love they deserve. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight care, I’ll treat them like they’re part of my own family. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your furry family members, and I’m committed to providing reliable, compassionate care while keeping you updated every step of the way. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets! 🐾
“Becca did a great job with my excitable Beagle and my very shy cat. You can tell that she loves animals, and the fur girls loved her instantly -- which made it much easier to leave them for a couple of days. I will ask her to help me again whenever I need to go away.”

“As always, Rebecca did a great jobs taking care of our two cats. They are very comfortable with her, which is so important! Rebecca sends timely, detailed updates and photos, which puts us at ease when we are away. Thank you!!”

“Samantha was a treat. Our cats warmed up very quickly. She followed our rules of the house, even the temporary rules for neuter recovery. She communicated well and sent lots of pictures and videos.”

“Judy took such good care of our babies while we were out of town. We have 2 dogs, a cat and a bearded dragon. She is so compassionate and took the extra time with my gentle giant who is afraid of everything. We were at ease knowing our pets were in caring hands. We will gladly have Judy look after our babies again!”

“Stephanie did a great job caring for our cat. She kept us well informed with a detailed report card. Glad we could find someone close by and so accommodating.”

“Rosie was awesome with my puppy Tyson. She did drop in visits on two consecutive days while I was at work to feed Tyson and let him potty. On one of the days it was snowing but she kept her commitment and was here for Tyson. I can tell that Rosie really loves animals and that she does this because she enjoys being around animals, specifically dogs. I would highly recommend Rosie to anyone who is seeking pet care services.”

“Christa has a way with animals - my cats liked her immediately when she came over to meet them before my trip. She sent pictures every day. Seeing that all was well helped me relax and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with my family!”

About: Lifelong experience caring for dogs, cats and a horse and studying psychology in college. I believe quality time for bonding, play and affection is just as important as food/potty breaks for pet happiness. The best part of pet sitting is the quality time spent with your pet after all the business is done! I have a flexible schedule so I'm able to make most times work. I can walk, feed, water, scrub bowls, medicate (comfortable administering oral meds to dogs and cats), clean up as needed, play with and generally whatever is needed to keep your pet on a regular schedule. We have 2 friendly smaller dogs and a dog door & ramp straight out to the fenced backyard. The house is one level with only 1 step in and out. There are crates set up in multiple locations and there are ways to separate animals safely if ever needed. Someone is home all day every day, pets are never kept without heat or AC.
“Eva was great! We really appreciated the photos & reports that came with each visit, and our kitty seemed to really enjoy the attention Eva gave her. She’s dependable and a great communicator. We will certainly engage her again in the future!”

About: I've had experience with an array of animals, including puppies, senior dogs, and cats. I'm able to handle high-energy dogs and to give them the exercise they need. I currently also co-parent a senior cat who requires medication morning and night. I'm consistent and can handle medication resistant pets with gentle care. My schedule is currently very open this summer as a full-time art student, so I can dedicate as much time as needed to pets. I understand that the needs of each animal are different! I have watched over a dog that needed to be crated. I take about 4 to 5 walks depending on how long I'm watching a dog.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hickory Ridge
Vanessa took great care of our 3 cats while we were away! She's very thorough, detail-oriented, and clearly cares about animals. Our cats are normally skittish around new people, but she took the time to befriend them with treats and they really warmed up to her! Will definitely be asking her to pet sit again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hickory Ridge. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
