“Emily is amazing !! She was able to dog sit for us on Easter while we attended a wedding!! She communicated with us through out the day, sent pictures of Panda! We felt so at ease knowing Panda was in great hands!! We will definitely continue to use Emily!”

“Arabelle was a joy to work with! She was meticulous in her planning and knowing what needed to be done for Floki, plus making sure she had all emergency numbers and what to do in case of an emergency. She made sure Floki was was very well cared for while we were away and even brought him a new ball to play with! He was walked, fed on time and played with in our yard with frequent communications so that we could see all of the fun he was having. I would highly recommend Arabelle to anyone that needs overnight care or even daily check ins. She was just what we needed and expected for our fur family and will be using her again for future day trips and longer vacations!”

“Maya took great care of our senior dog and lively teenage pup for a weekend! They can be a handful together and she did great with them. We also gave her detailed information on how to care for them, and she followed them really well and kept our babies both safe and loved. We are very thankful for her help.”

“Grace is very good with our Clover. Daily walks and exercise/ play are Clovers favorite. Thanks for taking such good care of her and communicating promptly with us .”

About: I have hands-on experience working on two different farms and Hamden CT’s brooksvale park (all throughout high school) , where I cared for a wide variety of animals, including everything from dogs&cats - cows & sheep . I’ve kept close contact with multiple repeat costumers I’ve built lasting friendships with house sitting/dog walking for. These experiences taught me how to read animal behavior, stay patient, and provide attentive care tailored to each pet’s needs. In addition to pet and house sitting for friends and family, I grew up with four pit bulls in the house and learned how to care for them as pups aswell as in their old age. I Have had smaller pets like hamsters and guinea pigs and currently have my own small dog with a big personality I love very much (side note I can take professional photos of your dog if you’d like) I recently graduated from art school(studying fashion design) and am currently looking for work related to my degree. In the meantime, dog/house sitting and walking fits into my open schedule I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I stay attentive to feeding schedules, fresh water, walks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection (including belly rubs and treats if allowed!). I’m also happy to accommodate any special routines, medications, or care instructions to make your pet feel at home
About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was 16. Friends and family trust me to walk, feed and take care of their dogs. I am comfortable taking dogs for long walks around the neighborhood or to the dog park, and I have stayed in home as a pet sitter. My family has a dog and I am involved in her care and play time on a daily basis. I have a very flexible schedule and have lots of time for your pup. I am available for late morning and afternoon walks and playtime. I have an energetic 60 pound dog. I am used to walking a strong dog and can easily handle a dog that may pull. I am happy to walk your dog in your neighborhood and/or play in your yard. I will work with whatever routine your dog is accustomed to.
“Karime was amazing! She accommodated a very last minute request and took great care of my girls while they were dealing with some serious allergies. She communicated consistently and promptly and also took note of when things seemed concerning. Great and caring sitter!”

“Aidan did a wonderful job housesitting our pets! One of our dogs needed meds and he had no problem with that either. Our dogs were well cared for and our spot was spotless when we returned! Would recommend!”

“Jordan was fantastic! He was communicative and asked all the right questions. He was flexible when I needed to come home early. He cleaned up after my dog had an accident in the home. I’ll definitely be booking Jordan again.”

About: I’ve had cats since I was 13 and have many years of hands-on experience caring for cats with different personalities and needs. I was able to help an older rescue cat become comfortable and affectionate over time, which taught me patience and how to build trust with shy or nervous cats. I currently have a tortie of my own, so I understand how important routines, playtime, and a calm environment are. I treat every cat like my own and make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved while you’re away. I work full-time as a paraprofessional from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays and am currently earning my master’s degree in elementary education. I’m available for pet care visits in the late afternoons and evenings after 4:30 PM, as well as weekends and school breaks. For cat sitting, I’m happy to stay for extended visits and can sit with your cat while I complete my schoolwork so they have calm companionship and supervision while you’re away. My schedule is consistent and dependable, and I always prioritize keeping pets comfortable and on their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow their normal routines closely so they feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. I provide feeding, litter box care, playtime, and calm companionship during visits. As a paraprofessional and graduate student in elementary education, I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to details and instructions. I also communicate regularly with updates so owners feel confident their pets are safe, cared for, and relaxed.
“Archie was an amazing cat sitter for my two babies!! This is my first time using a pet sitter for my cats. I have a senior girl who was just recently diagnosed with IBD and requires a special diet and daily meds, and a rambunctious kitten who will do his darndest to be the cutest troublemaker you’ve ever met. Archie was amazing to work with, has extensive experience working with cats, and made me and my partner feel at ease! If you are looking for someone to watch over your feline friends, Archie is the best! I will definitely use them for future bookings.”
About: While I'm newer to formal pet sitting, I've cared for dogs and cats for family friends and neighbors so your pet won't be my first! I'm a natural with animals, patient, and attentive to each pet's personality. I love dog walking (it's my favorite way to get cardio in!), so your dog will always get an enthusiastic, energetic walker. Based in the New Haven area for the summer and completely available, your pet will get my full, undivided attention! Pet care fits seamlessly into my life! My work schedule is completely flexibility-based: I work at a restaurant where I set my own availability, and my research work is fully remote with no fixed hours. That means I can genuinely shape my day around your pet's needs rather than squeezing them in between commitments. Whether it's a midday walk, morning feeding, or overnight stay, I can make it work. Your pet's routine always comes first! When I'm in a client's home, I treat it with the same respect I'd want for my own. I'm a naturally neat and organized person, so you'll never come home to a mess! I follow care instructions to the letter because I'm very detail-oriented and deliberate, so nothing gets missed or forgotten. I also know how much pet parents worry when they're away, so I stay highly responsive to messages and love sending update photos so you always know your pet is happy and thriving. Communication and trust are everything to me!
“We had to leave our goldendoodle for three days while out of state. She had not been left alone since being boarded at our vet 4 years ago, so we had concerns. Heather was wonderful! She came to our house twice before we left to learn our dog's habits and become familiar with her. Heather stayed at our home during our time away. She followed our dog's schedule to perfection (feeding time, potty time, nap time, bed time, play time, etc.). The day after our return, our dog was looking around for Heather. Heather also updated us regularly, including photos. I would recommend her highly, and hope to use her again.”

“Jen is amazing with my Senior chihuahua! She keeps her on schedule and cares for her like she was her own. I have used Jen several times and have her booked all through summer…she’s that good!”

About: I have taken care of dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments since I was 18. Now working in the medical side, I am able to make sure pets get their medications (including insulin) appropriately. I am mostly able to care for pets during the weekends or at nights. My work schedule at the veterinarian keeps me busy during the weekdays. I am unfortunately not able to offer pet care at my personal home. I am more than willing to travel to a clients house to care for their pets in their most comfortable environment.
About: Caring for animals has been a constant part of my life. I grew up in a home that always had two dogs at a time, and before moving out, my family had raised six wonderful dogs together. From energetic pups to older companions, I’ve experienced the full range of what it means to care for dogs through different stages of life. I currently share my home with two special-needs cats, which has taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of understanding each animal’s unique personality and needs. Managing medications, monitoring behavior changes, and creating a calm, safe environment are all things I take seriously. My primary goal when caring for your pet is simple: I want them to feel happy, secure, and relaxed while you’re away. I also know how important peace of mind is for owners. I’m communicative, reliable, and happy to provide updates so you can feel confident your pet is safe and cared for. I treat every animal with gentleness, respect, and the kind of attention I would want for my own pets. I work remotely in IT for a nonprofit organization, which gives me a very flexible weekday schedule. Because I work from home, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, regular potty breaks, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy having some furry company during the week. Whether that means a midday walk to break up my workday or a fuzzy companion nearby while I’m at my desk. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I’m happy to structure my schedule around walks, feeding times, medication needs, or check-ins. Your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches, and you can expect consistent updates while you’re away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect your routines and instructions carefully. I follow feeding schedules, medication needs, walking routines, and house rules closely so your pet’s world feels as consistent and familiar as possible while you’re away. I also provide regular updates so you can feel confident everything is going smoothly. If your pet stays in my home, their comfort and safety are my top priorities. They will have their own dedicated space in my finished basement office that is clean, hazard-free, and separate from my cats. This allows visiting pets to relax without feeling overwhelmed, and ensures everyone stays safe and stress-free. The space includes a comfortable couch just for them, plenty of room to stretch out, and a calm environment away from household noise. I’m home during the day, so they’ll receive regular supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and attention, balanced with quiet time to rest.
West Rock pet parents share their Rover experiences
When I had a night shift, Christopher came and took care of my dog, Honey, and did a spectacular job! He followed every direction/request without an issue, went above and beyond by offering to give Honey medication before he left, took photos promptly, and cuddled her when there was a bad thunderstorm, will book again!

Kat was an absolutely awesome dog sitter. My husband and I were looking for someone to stay in our home last minute and care for our dogs and Kat was immediately responsive and proactive. She was timely, followed instructions, provided updates throughout the day and the dogs were very well cared for. I would highly recommend Kat as a dog walker or dog sitter. We hope to work with her again!

I was so pleased with Joo’s ability to connect with my 2 dogs. Both are rescues and have specific needs: Lizzie is fearful and very anxious; Quigley was a stray—perhaps for years—and is house trained only when his human is home. She handled both of their needs with compassion and kindness. They warmed up to Joo quickly. Joo sent my photos and videos of my kids while I was away. It was obvious that they were having a really good time. That put my mind at ease and a smile on my face.

Veronica is amazing no other words can describe her. She house sat and took care of our little Luna. She was patient, caring and loving toward her and they became best friends really fast. She went on daily walks with Luna fed her exactly as instructed, played with her and really she was just exceptional. Before we returned and at the time that she was supposed to take off, there was an 1.5 hour interval, first of all she was happy to stay but we asked that she should not because it was very late at night and we wanted to make sure she gets home safe but when she was leaving our Luna she was so sad to see her leave that she was howling! At that point I had found a competition as I have been the only person Luna has howled for so that says a lot about how much Luna loved her. She respected our home and when we got back everything was as we left it. I would say she is exceptional and look no further if you need your dog happy and safe.

Leah is a wonderful dog/house sitter. She took amazing care of our lab retriever who requires long walks and lots of attention. He was very happy when we came home. She also was very respectful of our home. Overall very communicative and responsible. Can’t wait to work with her again. Highly recommend!!!! Thanks for everything Leah.

Karria was fantastic with Peewee! She kept me updated throughout the stay with photos and videos, was incredibly respectful of my home, and was overall a pleasure to communicate with. I felt completely comfortable leaving Peewee in her care and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!

Kel was so wonderful with our critters! Our pup is a bit of a weirdo and Kel was so receptive to all of Clover’s idiosyncrasies with going outside. She made sure to give us plenty of updates throughout the weekend and ensured our pup got her meds each day. So much peace of mind knowing our critters was well taken care of while we were away.
