“Jonathan is AMAZING! He took such great care of my little ball of nervous energy, Lily. Such great communication…daily video updates and photos. Lil is very high strung in new environments and was accustomed to her previous sitter of 5 years. Jonathan handled her with ease. We definitely found our new go to person. Thank you Jonathan!”

“Athena was absolutely amazing with our dog, She clearly has a true love for animals and treated our pup like her own. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such caring and capable hands. She went above and beyond, and we came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog. We would highly recommend Athena to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter!”

“We are so lucky to have found Oshin to take care of Mickey. We needed to find someone short notice and it turned out great. Mickey was so happy with all the attention, the walks and playing fetch. We received videos every day of Mickey having a great time. Thank you Oshin”

“Patty was great! She took our puppy in on short notice for one night and provided pictures and updates for us throughout. They even thought our puppy how to use a doggy door! We will definitely be reaching out to Patty the next time we need a doggy sitter.”

“Gabriela took amazing care of our Goldendoodle, Teddy! She treated him as if he were her own, and that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. You can truly tell how much she loves and cares for animals. Teddy was happy, well cared for, and loved the entire time. Her kids fell in love with him and he was definitely spoiled. We are so grateful and would highly recommend Gabriela to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate to care for their pets!”

“She knows her business. A pro at getting your pet distracted as you have to leave. You can tell she’s worked with animals a lot. I felt confident leaving my sweet boy with her.”

“Ada took perfect care of my pups over the weekend! They seemed to warm up really fast to her and her family.. my loner pup even warmed up enough to cuddle as if he was at home ? Ada was always quick to answer when I asked about them and sent plenty of pictures. Will definitely use her again!”

“We had such a wonderful experience with this pet sitting family! It’s clear they truly love and care for dogs like their own. They kept us updated with daily photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Their youngest daughter was especially sweet and shared the cutest stories about all the adventures she had with our pup. It meant a lot to know our dog was not just being watched, but genuinely loved and having fun. We would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend their services!”

“Molly and Ellie are my sweet senior ‘dirls’. They spent spring break week with Diana G in March. I was thankful to receive pictures of them blending in with the ‘family surroundings’. Diana G, is ‘in tune’ with the pets in her care. Her attention and genuine love for pets is why she will be my choice for future pet care.”

It was a great assurance and peace of mind to have Ringo sleep over for a few nights with Anabel, wonderful and reliable family! They kept me informed with memorable photos of family walks, sleeping or just chilling in the house; Ringo adjusted and blended right in, he found a home away from home; will certainly book again! Thank you for keeping Ringo happy and relaxed!

We’ve trusted Patty for years, and I truly can’t recommend her enough. Our dog is diabetic and an incredibly picky eater, which means his care requires extra patience and attention. She always makes sure he eats every meal and never misses his insulin routine, giving us complete peace of mind whenever we’re away. She treats him like one of her own, making sure he gets plenty of love, attention, and care. We actually live quite a distance away, but we gladly make the drive because we know he’s in the best hands possible.
Mary Kathryn and her family were awesome! She sent me a ton of pictures and updates on my boy Winston while I was out of town! I could tell he felt loved and at home while he was there - he even seemed sad to leave! Would highly recommend Mary Kathryn and will be using her services again in the future!

I contacted Jacob to watch my two dogs while we went on family vacation. We met up so he good meet them prior to booking. They loved the space in his backyard immediately and felt very comfortable. He sent notes with updates of pics and videos during their stay. They even said bye to him as we were leaving. Will definitely be using his services again.

Shannon was absolutely extraordinary in every aspect. We did a meet & greet before the actual booking, listened to all of my Charlie's quirks & habits and then used the time she had him to reinforce training he's previously had. And then taught me how to do it, too. She also sent progress pics & notes through his whole stay. I will definitely be booking again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
