Pet care experience

Loving fun place away from home!

I have had dogs all my life, from puppies to seniors with special needs. Right now I have a senior bichon-poodle mix. I rescued her as a puppy in 2014. I have created a custom "doggie yard" to ensure all everyone can run and play in a secure and safe place every time we go outside. I have also had recent experience caring for a blind senior Yorkie. I learned how to prepare the inside of my home to accommodate his disability.

Kathleen is amazing! My dog had back surgery and requires special attention. Kathleen was acutely aware of his needs and was exceedingly attentive.

I have a safety concern regarding my dog’s last stay. We had to pick her up early after she became extremely ill, to the point that our Rover sitter believed she might be in her final hours. Once we got her home and fed her the food that we had provided and know is safe for her, she improved very quickly. She was not actually dying, but she did have severe diarrhea, going nearly 10 times during 24 hours. We had to strip the car and throw things away on the way home! Based on how quickly she recovered after returning home and eating only her approved food, I am concerned that she may have been given something other than the food we provided. While I can’t say for certain what happened, the experience was very alarming and raised serious concerns about my dog’s safety during her stay. We booked a previous time and everything seemed fine but she had minor diahrea (assuming from too many treats) I do want to add that Rover Support was extremely helpful throughout the situation, and I truly appreciate how responsive and supportive they were.

Kathleen is the best! She attends to Katya and I’ve never seen Katya more excited.

I highly recommend Kathleen!!! My 2 dogs felt at ease first time they saw her. She sent me updates and pictures while we were away. I did not worry once about our babies while we were gone.

Schedule

I work from home on a flexible schedule. We take doggie breaks every 2 hours, or sooner if needed. This is a time to go outside, run and play with toys, feeding, or just sit with them and snuggle.

Safety, trust & environment

My doggy area outside has a "custom" super soft grassy area that is double fenced to keep pets secure, safe and always in sight when outside. Plenty of cozy pet beds are in each room, and pets are allowed on my sofa. My home has an Open design, so I am able to see what is happening at any given moment

Pets

A typical day

A typical day includes playing "fetch" with a variety of toys, both indoors and outside. Outside, we also have fun with chase games around the yard until we are all tired out. The more senior dogs love to lay in the soft grass and enjoy a sunbath! Then back inside for them to nap, lounge, snuggle, or get tummy rubs. This is the best time of the day for me to have individual time with each fur baby.

0 to 15 lbs

If your dog has any specific needs or special requirements, kindly inform me in advance so that I can make the necessary preparations to accommodate them properly. Your pet must be up to date on vaccinations and tick/flea free when you drop them off. We will schedule a meet and greet prior to booking your scheduled stay. This is an opportunity for you to see where your pet will be staying, and for all of us to get acquainted.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
