“We LOVED having Adrian house/dog sit for us! She was very responsive and sent me lots of updates/photos/videos. I also appreciate her ability to be flexible when my flight was cancelled at the last moment. My dogs were well taken care of and seemed VERY happy while I was away, my house was spic and span when I got home. We will absolutely have Adrian as a sitter again.”

“Sylas was incredible!! He took the best care of my babies and was so sweet to them. House was in perfect shape, litter area clean and smell free. Super communicative and sent lots of pictures:) Will 1000000% rebook if possible!!”

“Repeat house-sitting customer here! Brody is communicative, dependable, and affectionate with our dogs! We have two high-energy husky mixes and he’s great with them. We will book with Brody again!”

About: Hi! I’m Ella, and I’ve been around animals my entire life. Growing up, we always had at least three dogs and a few cats in the house, so caring for pets has always come naturally to me! I have over 8 years of pet-sitting experience and have cared for dogs of all sizes, from tiny Dachshunds to big German Shepherds. I’ve worked with puppies who are still potty training, senior dogs who need a little extra help, and pets who take daily medications (I’m pretty good at sneaking pills into turkey when needed 😉). I love being outside, so if your dog has lots of energy and enjoys long walks or hikes, we’ll get along great! But I’m also totally happy taking things slow and letting your pup stop to sniff every blade of grass along the way 😂. I’m currently in nursing school and am EMT-certified, so I’m responsible, detail-oriented, and comfortable staying calm in unexpected situations. I only have 1–2 clinical days a week, which means I have a pretty flexible schedule otherwise. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I’ll make sure they get lots of love, attention, and care while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet them! I know our pets are family, and leaving them in someone else’s care can be stressful. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable while you’re away! Whether I’m stopping by for a walk or staying in your home, I’ll give your pet plenty of love, attention, and care. I’m also happy to send lots of updates and photos so you can see how much fun we’re having together!
“Mark did a great job taking care of my pets. I felt safe leaving them with him. I especially liked receiving daily videos. It was reassuring to see my sensitive dog smiling. Mark also left left the house clean which I appreciated.”

About: I’ve cared for many kinds of animals since I was a child – dogs, cats, a bird, reptiles and amphibians, fish, even cattle. Wide variety and depth of experience. I currently work from home, and occasionally run errands, but otherwise, I’m always nearby to attend to the pet’s needs. There’s always at least someone home to take care of our animals. I have a fenced backyard with shade. There’s plenty of space in the house to accommodate guests. My dogs are crate-trained and play well with other dogs.

About: I’ve had and cared for different dogs and cats since I was around 11 or 12 years old. I love animals! Playing and taking walks is something I enjoy doing, and keeping them safe and cared for is a priority. I work part time at in n out burger which I love doing, and I’m looking for something to do for cash on the side! Mornings and early afternoons are when I am the most available for walks/drop ins. I follow feeding schedules and routines to keep the dogs well trained and enriched. Daily walks and playtime! I love hanging out with animals and I grew up with lots of pets.
“Madelyn was a fantastic find on here. She was super reliable, I love that she asked so many questions to prepare for her stay, and I really appreciated the picture updates. I came home to a clean house and happy pups! She even deep cleaned the water bowls voluntarily. I have never seen these bowls shine so bright before. 🤣 I highly recommend Madelyn and would love to book again with her in the future”

“Catherine, was wonderful. Meet and greet was good . She took notes and wanted to interact with my dog . During her stay she sent pictures and gave updates . She left the house neat , and left very little footprint . She was nice and curtious . My dog seemed to do great with her and was no worse for wear when we returned so I think it want well . I would have her house sit again .”

“This was my first time using Rover. Was very happy how easy it was. Ashley was great and took good care of both Chance and my place. Would totally use Ashley again and would recommend her to any dog owner.”

“Zoe was absolutely incredible! She watched my two dogs for almost a week and treated them like they were her own. She sent me pictures and regular updates every day, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I came home to two happy, relaxed pups who were clearly well-loved and well-cared for. I would trust Zoe again without hesitation!”

“This is the second time we've engaged Liz's services and once again we are more than pleased. Liz is a perfect fit for our nervous dog, because Liz has a calm and loving nature that Stella quickly trusts. Stella spends a lot of time snuggling with Liz during our absence, thus we know Stella is comfortable and happy. The house is in perfect order and clean when we return. Both house and Stella do well under Liz's professional care. We will be using Liz's service again, and we highly recommend her to others for her honesty and excellent care.”

“Kaitlyn was amazing! She stayed at our home for 4 days and took such great care of our girls, walking them twice a day. She kept us updated with great communication throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. We also came home to a spotless house — it honestly looked like no one had even been there. We would absolutely recommend her and would love to have her watch our pups again!”

About: I grew up with a spunky black lab who lived to be 16 years old. Now I get to live with my sibling and my dog-niece who I also hope lives a long, healthy, happy life! We've been housemates for a few years now. Gently combing her curly hair is my favorite. I have an adaptable flow where I can give a pet activity if they are young and need it, or take it easy if they are older. I work with a flexible schedule from my laptop between Salt Lake County and Utah County, so I can adapt to your needs too! I like to first ask what schedule or routine your pet is used to and see how closely I can match that and their temperament. I'm used to an easeful morning, getting sun during lunch, and then some other kind of outing later in the evening even if it's just a walk. I like to try to make it to a team meeting Thursdays and Fridays in Salt Lake. I can time it so I'm not gone for long, or I can reschedule meetings depending on the circumstances, commute, animal temperament, etc. I'm happy to come to your place or host your pet at mine. I'm in a condo so I'll limit my boarding services to one pet at a time. If it's possible for me to come to you and get acquainted with your pet before overnight stays, I'd prefer that for more easeful transitions. If you come to my place, my apartment complex has green spaces and waste bag dispensaries distributed throughout the property where I walk my dog-niece in the evening. But during the day the dog is away with my sibling and I'm all alone. So your pet will have my attention. I'll ensure pets have their own separate, undisturbed sleeping space. If I come to your space, then of course your pet will be most familiar and cozy.
“Hannah was great with my two hound dogs! I got updates and photos and they were well taken care of. She was very respectful of my apartment and left it super clean and organized! It was great knowing my dogs were safe and happy while I was away!”

“Our experience with Brienna was 100% positive! She went above and beyond to care for our dog Mollie. She was very responsive and accommodating, would send us pictures and videos of Mollie at least twice a day, which we really appreciated, took care of her as if she was her own. Brienna not only took Mollie out to potty and feed her, but she played and cuddled her every time, and even took her to play at her backyard, which was so sweet of her. Amazing human, very professional and responsible, would def book with her and we hope to always have her to be Mollie’s sitter.”

Michelle was amazing with Mochi while I was away! She stayed overnight during my trip and sent lots of pictures and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. She went above and beyond by doing little extras like turning on cat TV for Mochi while she was away. When I came home, Mochi was in such a better mood than she has been after other trips, and I could tell she felt comfortable and cared for. I would absolutely book Michelle again!

Olivia did a great job watching our pets while we were away. She sent regular updates, communicated well, and was very sweet with both Cleo and Nando. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing they were being cared for and getting attention while we were gone. We really appreciated her help and would recommend her to others.

Grace was such a wonderful companion for our anxious boy! She not only took great care of him by taking him on regular walks, being patient with his uncertainty to strangers, and staying with him as much as possible, but she also was great at communicating with us. We were nervous leaving him for our trip as he tends to be very attached to the hip, but she made us feel like we could truly relax and enjoy our time away. Highly recommend booking with Grace, and we will definitely be hiring her for any future trips!

Such a great pet sitter. My dogs are super shy and they seemed to have had a good day with Barbara as a sitter. We had a slight miscommunication on instruction but she is extremely flexible and I could not have asked for a more willing sitter. We booked her last minute and I could not be more grateful I highly recommend!

Carly is very sweet, trustworthy, and respectful. She is amazing at responding quickly to text messages. We had a miscommunication about when and for how long to walk my dog, and after expressing my concerns, she made the necessary adjustments to accommodate my request. She took care of my house and left everything clean. If you are looking for an in-house sitter, Carly is a great choice.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vineyard walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vineyard maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vineyard choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
