About: Michael grew up with dogs (spaniels, retrievers and even a labrador that was in training to be an assistance dog) whilst his partner, Joanne, grew up with cats. We've had several dogs stay with us over the last 10 years whilst our 2 sons, 11 & 9, have grown up which has given us the flexibility to have them to stay when its suited us. We do have a cat but she lives upstairs when we have dogs to stay so doesn't come in contact with them. There is a 3 mile loop round some fields near our house which allows the dgos to be off the lead (providing they come back!), and also a longer walk down by the river for the dogs that like a swim. We do like to take the dogs with us when we are out and about (see photos) so it's good if they can slot in with our plans. Our garden is fenced off and allows plenty of space for a ball to be thrown. The dogs will have the run of the entire downstairs and will be walked twice a day at a minimum (unless they need less!).

“Kerry was fabulous. So accepting of my little fur babies and their quirks. She even won my little worrier over in less than a day, which is fabulous. Almost want to not say anything so as to keep her our secret. 🤣”

“Callie had a lovely stay with Lesley! She’s a very warm, friendly person, who obviously loves dogs and I felt confident leaving Callie in her care for the day while my husband and I explored York. She kept in touch through the day and sent a nice little video. I would be very happy to leave Callie with her again.”

About: Hello! It’s lovely to meet you. I’ve been caring for pets since I was 13 and have had the joy of looking after three cats, two dogs, and three guinea pigs over the years. I currently work as a university lecturer and have also been a dedicated and responsible pet sitter. Since the beginning of this year, I’ve boarded more than 10 dogs and have truly enjoyed meeting and caring for each one. I genuinely love spending time with animals and will do my absolute best to keep your pets happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away, whether you're busy or off on holiday. You can count on a five-star service with lots of love and attention! I’m generally available for boarding during most of the days when the university is not busy. When dogs are staying with me, I usually work from home to ensure they feel comfortable and well looked after. For dog walking, I typically provide two main walks each day, along with an additional toilet break. On weekends, I also like to include at least one longer walk for extra enrichment and exercise. I’m a responsible pet owner with over 20 years of experience in animal care. I’ve looked after a wide variety of animals—ranging from insects, frogs, and birds to guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. My home is spacious and pet-friendly, featuring a dedicated room for dogs and a secure, fenced garden for extra space to play and explore. I only board one dog at a time to ensure they receive my full attention and the highest level of care.

“Rufus’s second stay with Georgia and Will. He was super excited to be there and made himself at home immediately. When I came to collect him he was sitting happily on the sofa snuggled up with Will. Think he had a great day as he was very quiet in the car on the way back, and his usual sleepy self this evening. Thanks Georgia!”

“Ewan was fantastic. Our dog Otis was very well looked after and looked like he had the best day! Great communication from Ewan and we felt we could trust him instantly. 100% recommend :)”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for the past 4 years, from labradors and setters to 3 dachshunds! I’m my friends go-to dog sitter as I seem to have the best bond with them outside of their owners, whether it’s a quick call in for some play time, a dog walk, or a 3 week holiday at my house … they seem to enjoy their time with me and my boyfriend. I’m a free-lance Nutritionist so I work from home most days, I can be flexible with drop ins or long walks if local, or daycare at my house including long walks and playtime. I enjoy walking so I make sure the dog gets plenty of exercise throughout the day, if that’s required. When I take short breaks from my laptop I spend the time petting and playing with the dog. I’ll feed the dog based on the owners schedule, and always make sure there’s a fresh bowl of water. I keep the house tidy and put shoes, clothes and food away to prevent any mess. I let the dog in my office so I can be near them whilst working. If they stay overnight I enjoy a cuddle on the sofa and maybe in bed … depending on the owners home rules. I’ll use treats to for tricks and training to keep their mind occupied.

“Mia was fantastic with our Labrador puppy! She was very approachable and accommodating which made the booking process so straight forward. Nevis clearly had a fabulous time, he couldn't get back to her house quickly enough!”

About: I’ve always taken care of family and friends dogs, walking and looking after them from a young age! We have a family dog (my parents) who I looked after for a few years when I moved back home. I trained him from when we got him as a puppy and still look after him frequently now I work from home with the bi-weekly day in London. I therefore am available for day care and or lunchtime walks/ visits as well as weekend boarding. I will also do mid week boarding as necessary! I have an enclosed yard which is perfect for dogs to come in and out into the flat. I live in a ground floor flat and although it is small the kitchen is big enough for a dog to be very comfortable! I also live 2 min walk to bootham park!

“Heather did a great job with Skye she has a very nice soft approach to a dog. Skye seemed very relaxed and comfortable when i picked her up. Heather had gone out of her way to get her to eat and look after her so many thanks Alistair”

“We left out 1.5 year old lab Bubba with Michael and his lovely dog friendly family recently. Bubba couldn’t have been happier, Michael stayed in touch and sent photos of Bubba having a great time on the various local walks that he was enjoying every day. Communications with Michael were great and my wife and daughter (who are very attached to Bubba) soon relaxed about leaving him behind whilst we went on a family holiday. Overall I couldn’t be happier leaving Bubba with Michael and his family and hope to do so again soon.”
