About: **please message if you have any questions regarding availability - we can be flexible if needed depending on dates!** My husband and I are both huge animal lovers, (dogs specifically). We both grew up with dogs + have always had one in our life. We have experience with pit mixes, bull dog varieties, terrier mixes, and more! We had our precious soul dog yorkie mix, Charlie, but sadly he passed away a few months ago leaving a huge hole in our hearts and our lives. As Charlie wasn’t dog friendly, we had to take a break from Rover but as he has crossed the rainbow bridge, we thought we could use our extra time and love to give to your dog(s) while you enjoy a much needed holiday! We have a very flexible schedule which allows us to be home 24/7 for your furry family members. We have a fenced in garden, live in a beautiful town to go on long walks, and have plenty of cuddles to give! Your dog will truly be part of our family while they’re in our care and we are more than happy to send daily photos, videos, and updates to you! *please message if you have any questions regarding availability, we can be flexible if needed depending on dates! I work from home and my husbands schedule is very flexible. We have time for long walks, time in the garden, and even day trips on days off. We are happy to keep your furry family members on a similar schedule to home or whatever works for you! We have a fenced in garden and a spacious home with lots of cozy sun spots. Our home is currently pet free (as we lost our sweet fur baby) child free and smoke free.
“Nicole did an excellent job looking after Indi so that we could have a full day at a music festival. She provided me with photos and updates throughout the day. The updates were very informative and the photos showed that Indi was enjoying herself. Plenty of walks, ball chasing and play with Nicole's friend's dog. All three activities are what Indi likes the best. Nicole also fed Indi as instructed and dropped her off at ours at the end of the day. Everything perfect, we will definitely use her again, thank you so much, Nicole”

About: I grew up with dogs and absolutely love their company for long walks in the area that i live in, along with lots of playtime I am currently single and retired so now have lots and lots of spare of time for lovely long walks and plenty of time to play I have fields on three sides of my house, pets would be able to roam inside bungalow freely or be caged if required by owners
About: I have had pets all my life, from chickens to dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits. There’s not many animals we haven’t welcomed into our home. I currently work 2 days a week, due to being a full time mum - this means I’m flexible throughout the week and weekends. Because my husband works shift I would like to know in advance when a pet needs looking to but don’t be afraid to ask at short notice. If I can help, I will! All of our pets that require vaccinations are vaccinated. All are up to date with flea and worm treatments. Given that I work in a vets they receive high end (pom-v) treatments not over the counter products. We previous had a little Westie, Pixie who was diabetic, her medication required a strict time routine to ensure she was stabilised well after meals.
About: My education and current studying of a degree in animal science has given me a deep understanding of animal behavior, physiology, and care needs. I can recognize signs of stress, illness, or discomfort in pets, ensuring they stay healthy and happy while in my care.Having both a dog and a cat means I’m experienced in managing the unique needs of different species. I understand their distinct behaviors, dietary requirements, and exercise needs, so I’m well-prepared to care for a variety of pets.Caring for a disabled animal has taught me patience, adaptability, and compassion. I’m skilled in administering medications, assisting with mobility, and providing the extra attention and care that special-needs pets require. If your pet has similar challenges, I’ll ensure they’re comfortable and well looked after. My experience with a disabled pet has made me highly empathetic and responsible. I know how important it is to go above and beyond to ensure the comfort and well-being of the animals in my care.I know how important mental stimulation and socialization are for pets. Whether it’s playing with a cat, walking a dog, or providing enrichment activities, I’ll keep your pets engaged and happy. As someone who values animals and has dedicated time to studying their care, you can trust me to treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own. I’m currently a student so have lots of time and very flexible with dates. Particularly during holiday periods. Weekdays and weekends work fine for me :) I have a fenced garden for security of your pet. Lots of lovely walking paths to have some great walks. I can use a crate if necessary in your homes.
“Absolutely lovely Lily! We were comfortable and happy to leave our dog D’Artagnan with her and had no worries. She took care of him! She has a nice outdoor space where the dog can be free to move! We reccomanded Lily!”

About: I live in the beautiful village of West Tanfield, surrounded by countryside walks right on my doorstep. I’m lucky to have access to a lovely river loop walk, open fields nearby, and regular trips to Thornborough Henges, which is fully fenced and perfect for safe exploring. I work from home most of the time, so your dog will have plenty of company and a calm, relaxed environment throughout the day. They’re more than welcome to join me in my home office — keeping me company as the “office dog” for the day. I’ve had dogs all my life and recently lost my beautiful black Labrador, Ralph, in January. While I’m not quite ready for another dog of my own, I would love to open my home to yours and give them the same love and care. My aim is to provide a true “home away from home” — dogs are welcome to relax freely in the house and garden, and be part of a safe, comfortable environment. I’ll always treat them as if they were my own. I work from home most days, so your dog will have plenty of company and care. I can only accept bookings when I’m working from home. I only take one dog at a time. Dogs are treated like family and I like them to feel relaxed, with free roam, sofas, beds, a garden fully secure, and countryside walks.
“Major had such a lovely day with Jamie, who walked and played and kept Major engaged and active all day. We were sightseeing in York and it was snowing, but Jamie made sure Major had a lovely day. We got photos and updates which really helped us to relax and enjoy our time in York. Happy to highly recommend Jamie.”

“Emma looked after our dog for an afternoon whilst we attended an event in the area. She sent us photos and updates on how he was getting on, we were very happy with the care provided and we wouldn't hesitate to book him in with Emma again. Thank you!”

“Our puppy Red had a lovely day with Michele and Andy and their dogs. Regular photo updates and a very happy puppy when picked up . Highly recommended and we will be booking again”

“Grace was amazing.she had never met Ossie and instantly made him feel comfortable.she was helpful, positive and he clearly was very happy to be there. When I went to get him he walked back into the house a couple of times and played in her garden while we chatted. I would recommend her to anyone”

About: I have a love of all animals and treat everyone’s as my own. My home has plenty of space to accommodate all your pets requirements. I work part time from home so I am always around the house so your pet would not be left alone for more than an hour. I have a large enclosed garden with lockable gates to prevent access. My own pets have the run of the house and garden but each animal will be assessed and cared for as an individual and I have multiple rooms should some space from other animals be required.
About: Animals and dogs, in particular, have always been a big part of my life, I grew up around them and cannot imagine my life without a dog or two by my side. "My puppy dog loved being with Helga and her dogs Meg and Ruby . Helga is oozing with love for dogs I am so pleased to have found her I feel so at ease leaving my dog with her" Since leaving work in the social sector four years ago due to ill health, I have made a career move and am studying at diploma level with the Centre of Excellence. So far, I have completed and passed with distinction Canine Behaviour, Puppy Training, Canine Nutrition, Canine Holistic Health and therapy, and am currently studying animal welfare. My goal is to specialise in Canine massage which can offer relief for a number of physical and behavioural related issues. I have some experience of raising puppies arising from Meg delivering two litters, with one puppy from each staying here with us. We live together in my bungalow which has a lovely spacious garden (currently undergoing development) set aside (mainly) for the dogs and offers ample opportunity for playing, frolicking and training with the use of a low impact agility course. If that doesn't suit, free play is always an option. Our surroundings provide plenty of safe country walks with very little traffic, or a short ride in the car takes us to local woods and other places of safe walking. Quiet time is between 2 pm and 4 pm: this can be in the garden, or inside. If it is raining, we have various indoor games to play and a comfy settee to relax or sleep on. So, whatever the needs of your pooch, you can be assured that if he or she comes to stay with us, they will receive the very best care available. Please note that drop off times for overnight stays are after 2.00pm and collection is before 10.00am Any time outside of this can be accommodated by arrangement and will incur an extra day care charge. Full payment to be made through the Rover payment system at the time of booking.
About: I have loved and cared for dogs my entire life and have grown up in a dog loving home. My family has a French Bulldog who is now 12 years old, and I have been closely involved in his care throughout his life from a little pup all the way to a senior dog. I regularly look after him when my family are away, ensuring his daily routines are maintained and that he feels comfortable and well cared for. In addition to this, I frequently care for other family pets while they are on holiday, providing walking, feeding, and general day to day care. I am attentive, patient, and reliable, and I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and cared for as they would be at home. I am available for dog boarding, doggy daycare, dog walking, and drop in visits from Fridays through to Mondays. I can organise longer stays/visits upon request. For those that choose dog boarding/dog sitting, I live with my partner who will also be in the house as he works at home full time. I provide a calm, safe, and attentive environment both in my home and in a pet owner’s home. My home is spacious and comfortable, allowing dogs plenty of room to relax, and I also have a large, fully fenced garden where they can safely play and get fresh air. Outside of my home, I have access to lots of green spaces, which allows me to take dogs on regular walks in quiet, natural surroundings. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I follow all instructions carefully to maintain their normal routines, including feeding, walking, and any specific care needs.
“Hollie is wonderful My dogs were so excited to see her it was obvious they were happy to be with her and Oscar. She is gentle and kind and I can see she loves my dogs ( who can be hard work) would highly recommend her and trust her implicitly.”

About: I have been looking after animals for most of my life, and would be happy to help with other peoples furry friends. I have a 3 legged cat and a young (ish) friendly dog. I like an active house, and am always happy to go out for extra walks, and will get out in any weather for some fresh air and a run around. I have experience with dogs of all ages and from small to large breed, and am confident and calm with nervous dogs or those who have come from rescue and need a little more special tlc. I can look after your loved furry friend Monday to Friday in the afternoons and evenings in term time with more flexibility in the school holidays. The family pets have the run of the house, and also have an outdoor run to go into when the weather is good. Our dog has a blast out in the woods in the morning before breakfast to work up an appetite and then a walk or run later in the day. We also have a large garden and attached woodland for exploring and to keep active brains busy
“Absolutely brilliant! Steven has been so good with millie and she has had the best day - she must have done because she went straight to bed when she got home 😁 very happy dog and owner - thankyou so much for having her. We will definitely be seeing you again and I'm sure millie will be very pleased to return! Also had regular updates and photos which was lovely.”

“Our 3.5 month pup had a lovely day with Jessica and her husband. We plan for him to stay while we go on holiday and wanted to give him chance to get to know them first. We were anxious as we had not left him with anyone else, but we didn’t need to worry as he settled straight away- and had lots of fun. Jessica is quick to respond to messages and sent photos of his day. Thank you”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Hambleton commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.
Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
