Grace was amazing.she had never met Ossie and instantly made him feel comfortable.she was helpful, positive and he clearly was very happy to be there. When I went to get him he walked back into the house a couple of times and played in her garden while we chatted. I would recommend her to anyone

About: I have been looking after animals for most of my life, and would be happy to help with other peoples furry friends. I have a 3 legged cat and a young (ish) friendly dog. I like an active house, and am always happy to go out for extra walks, and will get out in any weather for some fresh air and a run around. I have experience with dogs of all ages and from small to large breed, and am confident and calm with nervous dogs or those who have come from rescue and need a little more special tlc. I can look after your loved furry friend Monday to Friday in the afternoons and evenings in term time with more flexibility in the school holidays. The family pets have the run of the house, and also have an outdoor run to go into when the weather is good. Our dog has a blast out in the woods in the morning before breakfast to work up an appetite and then a walk or run later in the day. We also have a large garden and attached woodland for exploring and to keep active brains busy

About: As a lifelong dog enthusiast, I've traveled the world volunteering and caring for pups. This has been for friends, family and neighbours in Hong-Kong, Nepal, Brunei and the United Kingdom! Additionally, for the past 2 years, I've been an active volunteer on 'Borrow My Doggy', where I've found great joy in dog-sitting and walking my furry friends. While I don't have any pets of my own, spending time with dogs brings me immeasurable happiness. Their energy, loyalty, and companionship are unmatched, and I'm committed to providing them with the best care possible. I have glowing references from trusted owners who can attest to my exceptional dog-sitting abilities, so you can rest assured your beloved pooch is in loving hands with me. Due to a recent lay off from work, my current schedule is very flexible, as a result I am able to provide unparalleled comfort & convenience in caring for your beloved pet. As a result, I can most definitely house sit and dog walk your precious pet any day of the week, 7 days a week and anytime! In fact, I can 100% guarantee that I can adapt to YOUR schedule with ease. Currently, I am living in a spacious apartment enclosed with a private balcony. I only live with my boyfriend and we have no pets. I live seconds away from Clapham Junction one of the biggest train stations in the UK, therefore I have no issues with travel to and from my apartment. Additionally, my apartment is extremely dog friendly and I live next to countless parks with Battersea Park being the most popular one for dogs of all kinds!

Nicole did an excellent job looking after Indi so that we could have a full day at a music festival. She provided me with photos and updates throughout the day. The updates were very informative and the photos showed that Indi was enjoying herself. Plenty of walks, ball chasing and play with Nicole's friend's dog. All three activities are what Indi likes the best. Nicole also fed Indi as instructed and dropped her off at ours at the end of the day. Everything perfect, we will definitely use her again, thank you so much, Nicole

About: I live in the beautiful village of West Tanfield, surrounded by countryside walks right on my doorstep. I’m lucky to have access to a lovely river loop walk, open fields nearby, and regular trips to Thornborough Henges, which is fully fenced and perfect for safe exploring. I work from home most of the time, so your dog will have plenty of company and a calm, relaxed environment throughout the day. They’re more than welcome to join me in my home office — keeping me company as the “office dog” for the day. I’ve had dogs all my life and recently lost my beautiful black Labrador, Ralph, in January. While I’m not quite ready for another dog of my own, I would love to open my home to yours and give them the same love and care. My aim is to provide a true “home away from home” — dogs are welcome to relax freely in the house and garden, and be part of a safe, comfortable environment. I’ll always treat them as if they were my own. I work from home most days, so your dog will have plenty of company and care. I can only accept bookings when I’m working from home. I only take one dog at a time. Dogs are treated like family and I like them to feel relaxed, with free roam, sofas, beds, a garden fully secure, and countryside walks.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life - from Border Collies, German Shepherds and Jack Russels to rescue Heinz’s 57s. We’re an active household where dogs come first, we enjoy daily walks/runs and lots of play time. My current bestie, Fly, has a lifelong medical condition so I’m comfortable managing regular medication etc. She’s a Border Collie and enrichment is an important part of her day, including regular training. I work from home, I work downstairs near to my dog. We go for a 45 minute walk/run at lunch time and have short play breaks throughout the day. We’re an active household and like to be outdoors as much as we can. We have several walks near to our house. I have a secure fenced garden and there is a dedicated dog-room (heated conservatory) just off the kitchen which has direct access to the garden. The door to the garden is open whenever the weather allows it! The dog-room has a sofa, dog bed, water and toys. In the warmer weather there’s plenty of shade in the garden, dog friendly water toys and the kitchen is very cool for the dogs. I do have a dog crate if your pet prefers it. My dog Fly likes to take her time to get to know new friends, but isn’t possessive of her space, toys or food. We have at least one 45 minute walk during the day with off lead time (if suitable for your pet). I take regular half days/early finishes from work and use these for longer walks or days out with my dog - your pet can come on adventures too (see pictures for the types of places we go). I sometimes work away with plenty of notice. I have a primary aged son, he’s at school 8.45-5.30. He’s used to dogs and gives them the space they need.

About: I have grown up around dogs. I’ve had four of my own, training them as puppies and nursing 3 of them through their senior years. My home is a two minute walk to the river and is right next to a forest, set in the centre of a golf course, far from busy traffic, meaning your pet will have lots of safe and exciting walks. This is the perfect place for pets! I am an artist who works from home so will have lots of time to play with your pup. I love walking around my local area and your Good Boys and Girls will love it too. I have lawned front garden (un-fenced) and a large fully enclosed rear courtyard. I have one friendly, playful little dog to keep your pet company.

About: My wife and I both grew up in houses that always had dogs although when we moved in together we always felt too busy to get our own. Luckily for us, mum and dad's dogs tended to stay over whenever they went away. We got the fun part of being around a dog, and the companionship that brings, but also the freedom not be tied down once they returned home. Now that I've retired, I'm free weekdays, weekends, evenings, extended stays or even staying at the dog's place if that was needed. Ideally I like seeing the same dog, or dogs, more than once so I can feel they see me as familiar and a small part of their lives. I usually miss them when they go home! We live right on the former railway line which is now a path and so is ideal. I love walking although am restricted to a steady pace because I suffer with ILD (lung disease). I can do fairly lengthy walks although can't go fast and hills really slow me down. This means that a small to medium sized (or an older) dog is my best fit although I have looked after dogs as young as one. Retirement means more availability so I'm ideally suited to being around for a dog when you're busy. I prefer to keep the flexibility that caring for other people's dogs provides, which is why I'm not looking to have a dog of my own full time. The fact I have the lung disease means it's best for me to keep active as much as I'm able and having a dog around gives the push to walk multiple times a day. We have very small garden which is fenced off but mostly it'll be walks to get out and about. We have an admittedly small 3 bedroom house so a small to medium size dog would fit best. The dog will sleep in the living room preferably in a bed provided by the owners. Although this site asks whether we'd allow the dog to be in furniture or beds, I'd prefer to stick with whatever it's used to at home.

About: I (Emily) have been a dog Walker / sitter for over 16 years, looking after every sort of dog, I love them all! My husband (Sam) and I have done home boarding on and off over the years but we recently lost our beautiful dog Lola, heartbroken and with a very quiet house we would love to start home boarding again. Your dog would bring us so much comfort and be absolutely spoilt rotten! My husband works from home full time and I am a dog Walker so your dog gets the best of both worlds, if they prefer to stay at home they will have the company of my husband and if they love their walks I can take them to work with me. Whether we are taking care of your pet in our home or yours, their safety is always our main priority. We will want to know as much about your pet as possible so we can give them the best care, making sure they will always be safe and happy.

About: **please message if you have any questions regarding availability - we can be flexible if needed depending on dates!** My husband and I are both huge animal lovers, (dogs specifically). We both grew up with dogs + have always had one in our life. We have experience with pit mixes, bull dog varieties, terrier mixes, and more! We had our precious soul dog yorkie mix, Charlie, but sadly he passed away a few months ago leaving a huge hole in our hearts and our lives. As Charlie wasn’t dog friendly, we had to take a break from Rover but as he has crossed the rainbow bridge, we thought we could use our extra time and love to give to your dog(s) while you enjoy a much needed holiday! We have a very flexible schedule which allows us to be home 24/7 for your furry family members. We have a fenced in garden, live in a beautiful town to go on long walks, and have plenty of cuddles to give! Your dog will truly be part of our family while they’re in our care and we are more than happy to send daily photos, videos, and updates to you! *please message if you have any questions regarding availability, we can be flexible if needed depending on dates! I work from home and my husbands schedule is very flexible. We have time for long walks, time in the garden, and even day trips on days off. We are happy to keep your furry family members on a similar schedule to home or whatever works for you! We have a fenced in garden and a spacious home with lots of cozy sun spots. Our home is currently pet free (as we lost our sweet fur baby) child free and smoke free.

About: I have loved and cared for dogs my entire life and have grown up in a dog loving home. My family has a French Bulldog who is now 12 years old, and I have been closely involved in his care throughout his life from a little pup all the way to a senior dog. I regularly look after him when my family are away, ensuring his daily routines are maintained and that he feels comfortable and well cared for. In addition to this, I frequently care for other family pets while they are on holiday, providing walking, feeding, and general day to day care. I am attentive, patient, and reliable, and I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and cared for as they would be at home. I am available for dog boarding, doggy daycare, dog walking, and drop in visits from Fridays through to Mondays. I can organise longer stays/visits upon request. For those that choose dog boarding/dog sitting, I live with my partner who will also be in the house as he works at home full time. I provide a calm, safe, and attentive environment both in my home and in a pet owner’s home. My home is spacious and comfortable, allowing dogs plenty of room to relax, and I also have a large, fully fenced garden where they can safely play and get fresh air. Outside of my home, I have access to lots of green spaces, which allows me to take dogs on regular walks in quiet, natural surroundings. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I follow all instructions carefully to maintain their normal routines, including feeding, walking, and any specific care needs.

So pleased to find Robyn! Bob the Dog made himself at home very quickly at Robyns and played chase happily with Barry for his stay. It reassured us to receive a text an hour after dropping Bobby off confirming that all was OK. Pick up was easily arranged to suit us all. Would highly recommend Robyn for local doggy care or visitors to the area.

Gladys had a lovely time staying with Olivia. It is clear that she is very knowledgeable about dogs and even though Gladys is shy around new people, she seemed to settle in right away. Olivia was great at communicating and kept us updated throughout the stay. She also took the time to meet up with us beforehand which made us feel at ease and made Gladys feel comfortable. There are 345 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Richmondshire. About 87% of Richmondshire sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Richmondshire commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
