About: Reliable, friendly, and passionate about animals, I care for pets of all kinds, taking time to understand their individual needs and routines. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or companionship, I treat every pet like my own while keeping you updated for peace of mind. I do work full time but this is hybrid so I can work around boarding and working from home as needed. My place of work is only a 5 minute walk away from my house so I am able to come home during the day to let the dogs out for a leg stretch before going back to work. I work a half day on a Friday and have every weekend off too so on the weekends any short term guests get my full love and attention I have a fenced garden where my dog spends his time sunbathing where possible. There is a wooded area near my house where I take my dog to explore

Olivia was fantastic with our two boys. She took the time to come and visit them before the booking and asked loads of questions to make sure she was able to care for them the best she could. Olivia stayed in contact throughout giving us updates on the boys. She ensured both boys went on walks even though one of them is tricky on a lead and can be reactive. They both seemed to love her partner. I would definitely book again!

About: The Pawfect Getaway. I have many years of hands-on experience caring for dogs as part of my own family. Over the years I’ve shared my home with working Cocker Spaniels, Springer Spaniels and Labradors, so I’m very familiar with both energetic breeds and those who enjoy a steadier pace as they mature. Living with dogs has taught me the importance of consistency, patience and understanding each dog’s individual personality. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding routines, enrichment, and quiet companionship — not just exercise, but genuine care and presence. I also have experience administering medication, including tablets and routine treatments, and I’m happy to follow clear instructions to ensure your dog’s health needs are met properly and calmly. What Sets Me Apart Your dog would be cared for in my own home, not a kennel or busy multi-dog environment. I offer one-to-one care, meaning your dog gets my full attention and is treated as an individual, not part of a crowd. I take time to understand and maintain your dog’s existing routines — feeding times, walks, sleeping arrangements and any special habits — so they feel settled and secure while you’re away. Familiar routines make a world of difference to a dog’s happiness and wellbeing. I provide a quiet, relaxed, home-from-home environment, ideal for dogs who prefer calm company, personal attention, and a predictable day. My aim is always that your dog feels safe, comfortable and genuinely cared for — and that you can enjoy your time away with real peace of mind. Exclusive Perk: Secure Field Playtime! 🐾 Does your dog love to run full-speed but needs a completely safe space to do so? When your four legged friend stays with me, I can arrange and facilitate exclusive access to a fully grassed, securely fenced, and entirely safe private field. For 50 minutes of pure, uninterrupted fun, your dog will have the entire area all to themselves to sprint, sniff, and play to their heart's content—without any outside distractions or worries! It is the ultimate energy burner and a wonderful luxury for high-energy or reactive dogs who thrive with a bit of extra space. Please note that an additional fee applies for each field session. If you would love for your furry friend to enjoy this private playground experience during their stay, please enquire at the time of booking so we can secure their slot! Pet care fits very comfortably into my daily routine as I am retired and at home all day. This means your dog will have constant companionship and supervision, rather than being left alone for long periods. I’m able to structure my day around your dog’s usual routine, including regular walks, feeding times, medication if required, play, and plenty of rest. Being at home allows me to give unhurried, one-to-one attention, respond quickly to your dog’s needs, and provide reassurance throughout the day. Whether your dog enjoys activity or prefers a quieter pace, I can adapt the day to suit them while keeping things familiar and calm. My aim is to offer a consistent, home-from-home experience, so your dog feels settled, secure, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I care for pets in a calm, structured, and attentive way, always treating them as individuals. When caring for dogs in my own home, I provide a safe, relaxed, home-from-home environment with plenty of supervision and one-to-one attention. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully, maintaining established routines for feeding, walks, rest, play, and medication, as consistency is key to helping dogs feel secure. I take time to understand a pet’s personality, preferences, and any health or behavioural needs. I’m experienced with energetic breeds as well as dogs who prefer a quieter pace, and I adapt care accordingly. I ensure dogs are never left for long periods and always have companionship, comfort, and reassurance. When caring for pets in my home, I respect and follow the same careful approach — sticking closely to the pet’s normal routine, keeping their environment familiar, and providing calm, dependable care. My priority in every situation is the pet’s wellbeing, comfort, and safety, and giving owners genuine peace of mind while they’re away.

About: I have over a year of professional pet-sitting experience here on the rover app. I have also been a volunteer with the Blue Cross for a couple of years, helping to foster and rehabilitate stray cats. I absolutely love animals and caring for them is something I take great pride in. I am particularly well versed in looking after shy, senior and anxious pets - ensuring I take my time and build up trust is essential. I absolutely adore caring for pets and would love to share my passion with you. I work from home flexibly so I am available most days to care for your pets and to walk them / take them outdoors whenever they need. I live in a house with a gated garden and security is a priority for me. I am patient and caring with all furry friends, no matter their personality.

Sophie was amazing, using Rover for the first time & not having ever left my 2 border terriers overnight at home before was something I’d wanted to do for ages but hadn’t been able to pluck up the courage ! Sophie was so thoughtful, easing my worries about my nervous border by taking time to come & meet them before the house sit which was invaluable. On the day, her calm professional approach resulted in her building a relationship with my nervous border which I am so grateful for & is really beneficial for the future. Thank you so much Sophie I now feel relaxed about planning the next house sit & am looking forward to leaving my dogs in safe hands again

Kelly stayed overnight while we attended my daughter’s wedding, I was really scared letting a stranger stay overnight but after meeting her ,Kelly was lovely and we had no hesitation letting her stay in our home overnight to look after my fur babies. She kept us updated how to dogs were and it put me at ease, When we arrived home our dogs where happy and content like they had fun while we were away. I would recommend kelly to anyone and would definitely use her again.

Lee and Jane looked after our two dogs Luna and Molly for the second time. Luna and Molly loved having Lee and Jane looking after them, we had lots of photo updates which gave us peace of mind, and they gave the girls lots of fuss and attention. They were very respectful of the house, and it was immaculate on our return. We will definitely use them again

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs,, cats, horses, farm animals and Guniea pigs! I am a home loving person, but love to visit new places. I will look after your pets, but also your home. Im good with plants and gardens, messages and deliveries if needbe. I have no family or home ties of my own, so my time with you is dedicated to you. I pride myself on leaving people's homes as clean and tidy as I find them. I am friendly, happy and confident on my own. I have never smoked, drink only ocassionally, and am happy to be at home in the evenings. I am a quiet, calm person. Strict with pets rules, but loving and caring.. i am gentle and happily abide by your care rules and needs. I sold my house a year ago , to take the opportunity to travel to new places both in UK and abroad. I have a base in a friends house whenever I need it and i enjoy travelling to new places. Therefore I have no home commitments. My friend who I stay with has a Boxer so I care for him when I am there. I have owned dogs all my life until my last two rescue girls died and have not replaced them yet so I can travel without worry. I ask people their pet rules, such as walking, feeding and care and adhere to those rules.

About: I’ve been around dogs as long as I can remember. since recently moving out, I’ve really miss having them around, and rover is a great way for me to do something I genuinely enjoy. I’m confident with dogs of all sizes and understand patience, routine, exercise, and giving each dog the attention they need. I work full time and live alone, so owning a dog isn’t the right choice for me right now, but that makes me even more excited to help care for other peoples pets. I’ll treat your dog with the same care and affection I’ve always given the dogs in my own family. I work 3 days on and 3 days off. So i’m available full days on my days off. This means walks, play times, and check in’s. And since I don’t own any pets myself at the moment, your dog gets my full attention. I have grown up with dogs and regularly cared for my parents dogs for weeks at a time, making sure they are safe, happy, and sticking to their routines. My home has a safe and secure garden and is directly behind a large football field, woodland area and open fields. And as a police employee with a background check, owner can feel confident their pets are with someone responsible.

Katie has been an absolute treasure. So glad we found her after several cancellations, definitely meant to be! Our gang of 3 were so happy with her. They took to her instantly, even our little nervy Maeve. The care she gave them was excellent, her attention to detail and routines above and beyond. She also treated them as individuals, which I think they loved. Her daily photos and updates meant I was the most relaxed I've ever been on a holiday! We'll definitely book her again and I can't thank her enough! Top dog sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Richmondshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Richmondshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
