Janette is an exceptional house guest and dog sitter. Special because of her humanity, her quick grasp of the owners' anxieties. She was a reassuring presence during my absence, her communication was top notch. Photos and text updates were both helpful and reassuring. Janette had a sick dog to care for whilst I was away. Her sensible and calmness observations, advice and checking in with me was both exceptional and professional. She clearly bonded with my dog who was assured of her constant attention. Her care for my dog was outstanding and as a careful curator of my home, the need to keep it clean and tidy, her cleaning prior to her departure was excellent. Janette is a home dog sitter sent from what must be a very small pool of sitters that you recommend. I would highly recommend her as an excellent, trustworthy and very kind, flexible and helpful people I personally have ever encountered in this role. FIVE STARS ÷ Dr Mark Jones. Durham, UK

Sophie was amazing, using Rover for the first time & not having ever left my 2 border terriers overnight at home before was something I’d wanted to do for ages but hadn’t been able to pluck up the courage ! Sophie was so thoughtful, easing my worries about my nervous border by taking time to come & meet them before the house sit which was invaluable. On the day, her calm professional approach resulted in her building a relationship with my nervous border which I am so grateful for & is really beneficial for the future. Thank you so much Sophie I now feel relaxed about planning the next house sit & am looking forward to leaving my dogs in safe hands again

It was a big deal for us to leave Flash for 3 nights, even though he had already met Jamie a couple of times. But Jamie arrived before we left to go through things and we had regular updates from him all the time we were away. We arrived home to a happy settled dog who wasn't even bothered that we'd been away.

Tim was punctual, communicated clearly and obviously understands dogs. Our dog appeared to have a great day with Tim. We returned after a wedding to find Tim asleep on the couch with Roxy asleep on him.

About: My wife and I both grew up in houses that always had dogs although when we moved in together we always felt too busy to get our own. Luckily for us, mum and dad's dogs tended to stay over whenever they went away. We got the fun part of being around a dog, and the companionship that brings, but also the freedom not be tied down once they returned home. Now that I've retired, I'm free weekdays, weekends, evenings, extended stays or even staying at the dog's place if that was needed. Ideally I like seeing the same dog, or dogs, more than once so I can feel they see me as familiar and a small part of their lives. I usually miss them when they go home! We live right on the former railway line which is now a path and so is ideal. I love walking although am restricted to a steady pace because I suffer with ILD (lung disease). I can do fairly lengthy walks although can't go fast and hills really slow me down. This means that a small to medium sized (or an older) dog is my best fit although I have looked after dogs as young as one. Retirement means more availability so I'm ideally suited to being around for a dog when you're busy. I prefer to keep the flexibility that caring for other people's dogs provides, which is why I'm not looking to have a dog of my own full time. The fact I have the lung disease means it's best for me to keep active as much as I'm able and having a dog around gives the push to walk multiple times a day. We have very small garden which is fenced off but mostly it'll be walks to get out and about. We have an admittedly small 3 bedroom house so a small to medium size dog would fit best. The dog will sleep in the living room preferably in a bed provided by the owners. Although this site asks whether we'd allow the dog to be in furniture or beds, I'd prefer to stick with whatever it's used to at home.

About: I’ve lived with and cared for dogs all my life, ranging from big Labradors to tiny Frenchies, and even unruly Rhodesian Ridgebacks. My friends call me the dog whisperer because I gel so naturally with new dogs. I’m an actor so I’m available most times and really easy going and friendly. I’m known to be very reliable, and am looking to work with people in the long term so I could get to know them and their dogs better. I’m passionate about walking and spent most of my childhood on walking holidays with my dogs and family in the Lake District. As a nature loving person, I know the best dog spots and walks in London. I’m based in Central London, so can easily get to most areas of London.

Kelly stayed overnight while we attended my daughter’s wedding, I was really scared letting a stranger stay overnight but after meeting her ,Kelly was lovely and we had no hesitation letting her stay in our home overnight to look after my fur babies. She kept us updated how to dogs were and it put me at ease, When we arrived home our dogs where happy and content like they had fun while we were away. I would recommend kelly to anyone and would definitely use her again.

About: Hello 👋 I am Ruth, 34 and have a 9 year old mix Pip. She is a rescue and through endless love and training she has blossomed over the years from a nervous, shy, quivering pup into a friendly, confident and loving dog. She is in excellent health for her age and loves nothing more than to zoom around a field! I have trained 3 of my own dogs and believe in a loving, positive approach with sensible boundaries. I am extremely active so your dog will get plenty of exercise! I have experience with dogs from 12 weeks to senior. I am self-employed so have plenty of time to give pets the time and attention they deserve. I am very flexible and can work around you and your furry friend as I can't work from anywhere at any time. I have my lovely Pip to keep your pet company and lots of play and socialisation. I can walk, spend time with or care for your pet in your home. I am clean, tidy, respectful and trustworthy. I am keen on animal health and feeding a good diet and plenty of exercise, with constant access to water and regular toilet breaks.

What can I say about the wonderful Craig. Absolutely rescued us by looking after our two dogs during our wedding. One dog is particularly difficult as he has epilepsy, so there’s always the fear of seizures and vet’s trip. Craig accepted to help us when others wouldn’t and we’re so grateful he did. The boys were so well looked after and so happy when we seen them. Craig knew we wanted them to be at the wedding so tried to get some pics in bow ties for us, bought us a wedding card and even helped us to carry some stuff in when we returned. Honestly I can’t praise or thank him enough. Definitely he using Craig again ❤️❤️

Huge thank you for treating my Bella like your own! Slightly jealous how much she loved you lol but in all seriousness, the messages, the videos and the professionalism made me the most relaxed I’ve ever been away from her. Will definitely be rebooking! So easy, ultimate care and understanding, of both of us. Lovely!

About: I have over a year of professional pet-sitting experience here on the rover app. I have also been a volunteer with the Blue Cross for a couple of years, helping to foster and rehabilitate stray cats. I absolutely love animals and caring for them is something I take great pride in. I am particularly well versed in looking after shy, senior and anxious pets - ensuring I take my time and build up trust is essential. I absolutely adore caring for pets and would love to share my passion with you. I work from home flexibly so I am available most days to care for your pets and to walk them / take them outdoors whenever they need. I live in a house with a gated garden and security is a priority for me. I am patient and caring with all furry friends, no matter their personality.

About: We have both always had dogs, growing up I lived on lots of land and always had 4 dogs which I loved to train and walk. We live in an area with immediate access to lots of walks and woodland (short and long) and love to go on long walks in our spare time. We have lots of dogs who visit us part time and are treat like family. We do lots of walking in our spare time, we have lots of different dogs who come to visit and are used to many breeds both big and small. All dogs get a minimum of three good walks a day but often we do more. We have a fenced front and back yard that backs onto fields within less than a minute, there are a number of short and long walks locally that range from ten minutes onwards.

About: I've been around animals for as long as I can remember and have experience caring for a wide variety of pets, from dogs and cats to many other small and larger animals. Growing up surrounded by animals has given me the confidence to understand their individual personalities and needs. I currently have a dog, Rory, and two cats, Amber and Alfie, who are much-loved members of my family. When I was younger, I worked as a dog grooming assistant, where I gained valuable hands-on experience handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. This helped me develop patience, confidence, and an understanding of how to keep pets calm and comfortable. I also regularly look after friends' and family's dogs, whether it's for walks, day care, or overnight stays. I'm naturally caring, reliable, and flexible, and I always treat every pet as if they were my own. My priority is making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away, giving you complete peace of mind. I recently completed my MSc in Dietetics and am currently taking some time before starting my long-term career. This means I have a very flexible schedule with no regular commitments, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. Whether your pet needs regular walks, company throughout the day, overnight care, or a little extra attention, I can easily fit their routine around my day. As a pet owner myself to my dog, Rory, and my two cats, Amber and Alfie, I'm used to planning my day around feeding, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection. I understand how important it is to maintain a pet's usual routine, and I'll always make sure they receive the care, attention, and love they deserve while you're away. I genuinely enjoy caring for pets in their own homes, as I know this is where they feel the safest, happiest, and most comfortable. Staying in their familiar environment helps keep their routine as normal as possible and can reduce any stress while you're away. I will always treat your home with the same respect and care that I would expect someone to show my own. I'll keep everything clean, tidy, and secure, and I'll follow any instructions you leave carefully. Whether your pet is crate trained, has a specific feeding schedule, needs medication, enjoys long walks, or has particular routines and preferences, I'll make sure these are followed consistently. My goal is to provide your pet with lots of love, attention, and companionship while giving you complete peace of mind that both your pet and your home are in safe hands.

About: I’ve been around dogs as long as I can remember. since recently moving out, I’ve really miss having them around, and rover is a great way for me to do something I genuinely enjoy. I’m confident with dogs of all sizes and understand patience, routine, exercise, and giving each dog the attention they need. I work full time and live alone, so owning a dog isn’t the right choice for me right now, but that makes me even more excited to help care for other peoples pets. I’ll treat your dog with the same care and affection I’ve always given the dogs in my own family. I work 3 days on and 3 days off. So i’m available full days on my days off. This means walks, play times, and check in’s. And since I don’t own any pets myself at the moment, your dog gets my full attention. I have grown up with dogs and regularly cared for my parents dogs for weeks at a time, making sure they are safe, happy, and sticking to their routines. My home has a safe and secure garden and is directly behind a large football field, woodland area and open fields. And as a police employee with a background check, owner can feel confident their pets are with someone responsible.

About: Experienced dog‑lover returning to Rover after some time away. I previously cared for a Spaniel of my own and have years of hands‑on experience with energetic, affectionate breeds. I offer a calm home, long walks, enrichment, and plenty of attention. I’m reliable, communicative and always send regular updates so you know exactly how your dog is doing. Pet First Aid trained and confident with a range of temperaments — your dog will be in safe, caring hands. I'm really lucky to work hybrid and flexibility 90% of my week. I am more than happy to work with parents to ensure that any alone time is limited and that their dog has the best stay possible. I’d like to think that you are getting a quality service where your dog is treated as my own and will be taken on quality nature walks whilst in my care.

Lee and Jane looked after our two dogs Luna and Molly for the second time. Luna and Molly loved having Lee and Jane looking after them, we had lots of photo updates which gave us peace of mind, and they gave the girls lots of fuss and attention. They were very respectful of the house, and it was immaculate on our return. We will definitely use them again
