I currently work 2 days a week, due to being a full time mum - this means I’m flexible throughout the week and weekends. Because my husband works shift I would like to know in advance when a pet needs looking to but don’t be afraid to ask at short notice. If I can help, I will! All of our pets that require vaccinations are vaccinated. All are up to date with flea and worm treatments. Given that I work in a vets they receive high end (pom-v) treatments not over the counter products. We previous had a little Westie, Pixie who was diabetic, her medication required a strict time routine to ensure she was stabilised well after meals.

About: Hi there! I’m Hollie – a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and genuinely thrive when I’m spending time with them. Whether it’s a quick drop-in visit, overnight pet sitting, or daily dog walks, I treat every pet like they’re my own—with care, patience, and plenty of love. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities—from a feisty Jack Russell to an energetic Newfoundland! I’m experienced in pet sitting and regular check-ins, and I’m confident in administering medication, including both oral and injectable types. Your pet’s health and routine will always be my top priority. A little more about me: I grew up with two black cats (Jack and Vera), and a relaxed tortoise named George. I also have my own horse and ride others regularly, with over 12 years of experience around horses and stable care. At my partner’s home, we have three playful Border Terriers who always keep us entertained! Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I believe a home isn’t complete without them. I’m here to provide reliable, trustworthy care and to create meaningful bonds with every pet I meet. I can’t wait to meet your furry family members – feel free to get in touch with any questions or to arrange a meet and greet! ❤️🐾 I live in a two bedroom home in Thirsk with a fenced garden. I am available Mondays and Saturdays for dog sitting. And from 5pm Mon - Friday for Dog walking. Potentially available at other times and weekends on request 😊 To ensure I create a safe environment in a clients home I would ensure I stick to a schedule given by the owner which already meets the needs of there 4 legged friend! Making sure both owner and pet is comfortable of being in my home and creating a happy environment for all! All of this will be discussed prior❤️ I do meet and greets with all new clients before any house visits/boarding to ensure both owner and furry companion feel comfortable with myself. This also gives me the opportunity to talk to you more in depth about your pets requirements, quirks and personality😁
“Thanks to Jess for dropping in daily particularly to feed my elderly cat. This meant that Holly didn’t have to leave the comfort of her home. Jess did a great job of feeding and emptying litter trays as well as cleaning up after any accidents. I would certainly recommend and would use again. Thanks Tina”

Pet care will fit into my daily routine as part of my family. I have spare time to easily fit around your pet, offering plenty of love, care and attention around your pets needs. Your pet will be cared for within my own home following your pets patterns of behaviour. I follow your pets nutrition needs and ensure your pet is regularly taken for long walks local and in the countryside, no matter what the weather. Regular cleansing/bathing. Plenty of love, cuddles and treats for good behaviour.
About: Since childhood, I have always had a family dog, so being around and caring for dogs has been a big part of my life. I’ve been volunteering most weekends at Holly Hedge Dog Sanctuary, whenever my work schedule allows. During my time there, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of dogs, each with different personalities and needs. This experience has not only shown my love for animals but has also helped me develop a strong confidence in looking after dogs and understanding their behavior. It's something I really enjoy and feel passionate about. My work schedule changes each week, so feel free to send me a message! Your dog will always be my top priority, and I will make sure to find time to give them the attention they deserve. I’m currently living in military accommodation on Catterick Camp. While my living area isn’t very spacious, I can guarantee that your dog will receive plenty of attention and care. I’ll make sure to take them out for walks in a secure and safe environment where they can enjoy themselves. Your dog's well-being is important to me, and I want to ensure they have the exercise, love and attention they need.
About: Animal professional with seven years, I have taken dogs and cats of every kind since I was four years old and looking for more flexibility! I’m looking for a career change so I have plenty of time to fit in your fur babies on a daily/weekly basis, I’m also open to weekends as well! All about enjoying the time and meeting and making clients happy! Lots of cuddles and affection, stick to a routine your pets are familiar with such as medication, walks or feeding times! Little treats and plenty of toys galore. Personally I love taking my own animals out to new environments for their walks, and with permission happy to do the same for yours!
“So glad I discovered Kelly. My cat, Barry, and I instantly bonded with her. I got some lovely and amusing updates, with some great photos. I think Barry took a real shine to her & was subsequently quite disappointed to see me walk through the door upon my return. Kelly was happy to stay over her allotted time to make sure Barry had everything he needed. Communication has been great. Really happy with the service provided. I have already rebooked Kelly & have no issues in using her again if required in the future…..I know Barry will be delighted 😀”

About: I’m experienced in handling large dogs (any size/breed welcome) and have a deep understanding of the needs and quirks of anxious and reactive dogs and the care and patience they require through my experience with my extremely nervous rescue German Shepherd who was in very bad mental and physical condition when I adopted him. Sadly, he passed at the end of 2024 after many happy years together. Personally, I found it extremely difficult to trust others to walk or care for him during our time together so I’d like to reassure those in a similar position that I can take care of their best friend when they need it and I’ll always be as careful, understanding and vigilant as I was with my own. My garden is secure with full, well-maintained fences and walls and a padlocked gate, I have blinds on all public facing windows which can be closed if dogs are triggered by people walking by. Everyone is welcome to supply any toys, beds or anything that makes your dog feel more comfortable and of course I will stick to their usual walking schedule and dietary requirements. I live directly next to a large park which is not typically very busy and offers numerous trails from the main paths to avoid others when caring for reactive dogs. I will never let anyone’s dog off the lead during a walk (unless I have booked a secure field) and always clip leads to a strong walking belt as extra security, walk in shaded areas on hot days and carry water at all times. I mainly work from home so when boarding and pet sitting your dog will be with me all day with regular opportunities to play, go in the garden and for walks in the morning, lunch time and evening. I’m available for walks morning, lunchtime and evenings during the week and all day Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. I only care for dogs from the same household on walks and in my home unless they are friends who have already spent time together. This is for the best possible wellbeing of each dog. I’d rather provide quality and complete confidence than take on as many dogs as possible as I believe in giving them the individual care and attention they deserve with as few stressful triggers as possible. I work from home so dogs will not be left unattended or outside for prolonged periods. I only endorse the use of positive reinforcement / reward-based training and treat all dogs with respect, understanding and care tailored to their specific needs. I’m happy to discuss your requirements, answer any questions and arrange a pre-stay meet and greet if required. I have also completed a certified DBS check through my employer. We do not have any children or pets of our own in our home.

Danuta was a great cat sitter for our two boys. They felt totally comfortable around her as they both appeared, which is fab. I'm so glad we chose her. She was very professional and great at sending us updates and videos. She did a great job and we wholeheartedly recommend her. Thanks Dee. 😁

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hambleton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
