Sharron is a 5 star sitter and has a deep understanding of dogs. There was an immediate calming of kur puppy, Alfie when we introduced him to Sharron. He was with her for 7 hours and he was in good hands. He also had 2 sleeps ! Highly recommended!

Piper was clearly very happy with Ian and their little pug. He sent me photos throughout the day and it was a relief to know she was okay, as that was the first time I’d left her with someone that wasn’t family. She’s been a few times now and is always excited when she arrives, she knows where she is! Ian’s got a large secure garden and Piper enjoys playing and sniffing. Their little pug is a sweetheart and she was happy having Piper in her house. I will continue to use Ian as my doggy daycare - Piper is very happy with him.

Ronnie seemed to have a fantastic time, he slept for hours after I got him home. Katie made him feel welcome and was really good about a slow introduction to Rowie. I'm sure Ronnie is looking forward to his next visit!

Our dogs had the best time staying with Karen. From the moment we dropped them off, we felt totally at ease. Their home is dog-friendly, and it was clear right away that they treat pups like their own. We got regular updates with lovely photos and little notes about how they were doing, which made us smile every time. Bowser and Lou came home happy, although definitely a little sad to leave, and are completely worn out from all the fun they had! We’re so grateful to have found such a warm, trustworthy sitter—absolutely recommend and will 100% book again

About: In my life I have had the pleasure of living with and looking after a variety of animals. From kittens to doberman puppies- i love all animals! I especially enjoy working with and caring for dogs, whether they need extra attention due to age or health, or they prefer their own space. I’m sure I would be able to take care of their needs 😊 I currently work in shifts but am very flexible; I can have time off if/when required and can also nip home throughout the day to check in on your loved one! I only work 5 minutes away and have a camera to set up if your dog is ok to be left alone for periods. I live alone in my house and in my spare time love to cook, walk and read books. Your companion will fit right in! I have a camera and baby gate at the bottom of my stairs to keep your companion in a secure environment, however if acceptable to you i am happy for them to go upstairs and on furniture. I am happy to go by your rules!

About: I have 4 years dog care experience. I love to walk and there are some lovely areas around us which your pets can also enjoy. I am able to administer medication if required. I work from home full time so am always around if needed. I already have a dog and we go for walks at least 3 times a day - length of walk is very much dictated by my dog!! We have a fully enclosed garden, with both grassed and paved areas, all sides have high none see through fencing and access off the property is via two secure gates. Inside - all dogs would have access to the utility area, snug and kitchen, where clean fresh water is always available. They will also be able to have their own space if needed.

About: Me and my partner, James have grown up with a range of family puppies and dogs; Spaniels, terriers, dobermans, Shih tzus , Pugs and more! We love dogs! We have a large secure garden, access to countryside walks and lots of affection to give to your dog. We know how important it is that when you need someone to look after your furry companion that it is someone you can trust and who will provide the best care. Please note before enquiring that we do have a 4m old baby & 7 year old, they are both around dogs constantly so we are comfortable but we also need to know that you & your dog are comfortable too. I’m currently on maternity leave so I have lots of free time during the week to play and do lots of walking with the dogs! We have a fenced garden which is secure and great for exercise or play time. We are happy for your dog to do what makes your dog comfortable.

About: I have grown up around and having dogs all of my life. I have always struggled in the past with finding a reliable dog sitter so thought I would offer this service in my free time. I absolutely love all animals and your dog will be treat as my own! I live with my dogs Elvis and Winnie. We have lots of walking areas around the house. My parents also have dogs so we enjoy going on group walks all together. I have done dog sitting now for over 2 years and have repeat dogs coming back frequently. Elvis is super chill and tends to keep himself to himself. He will happily play but also is fine if dogs don’t want to. Winnie is very loveable and loves to have a run around or will happily lay and snuggle all day. Both of them love to be around me all day. I work from home so I am super flexible and around throughout the day. I am available most of the time and will be around all day / evenings. Your dogs will never be left alone. I am fine to stick to any routines you should have with your dog! I have a fenced garden and two small dogs to keep your dog company. The dogs have free roam of the house/ can be sectioned into the kitchen area if needed.

About: I have experience of owning and looking after family and friends dogs. I am a keen walker, loving nothing more than being out with dogs locally. I curently work part time in a freelance basis at home so have lots of time to help to care for and walk dogs locally. I am always up and about walking our dog early, then we have a other couple of walks planned through the day. We have an enclosed garden so we have fun between walks playing in the garden. I have a large fully enclosed back garden and live in a village near Selby giving us access to beautiful walks and fields on my doorstep.

Great communication and helped us out of a tricky spot at short notice. Emma was very friendly and Rory seemed to take a shine to her straight away. Understood the amount of energy that Rory has and made sure to keep him entertained (he was fast asleep two minutes after getting him home). 100% would definitely use Emma again.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Selby

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Selby on Rover is £28.75 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,084 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Selby. About 85% of Selby sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Selby commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Yorkshire and the Humber may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
